Once again, Thornton‘s trash guys exceeded expectations – at least my own.
I had temporarily put three bags of trash right on the street knowing that once the trash truck had passed on the other side of the street, I’d be able to empty a can and use it to put my bags into. Is this making sense? Well, I never heard them drive by, so I missed them coming through on my side of the street. Knowing full well that they weren’t gonna get out of the truck and load up my three bags I was ready to hold off until next week, but by golly, they must’ve gotten out of their truck. He must’ve gotten out of his truck and thrown it in by hand. Maybe that doesn’t sound like a lot to you, but to me – you know, he didn’t have to do that.

Didn't expect to write a review for this, but it is great! I really appreciate the city offering this service. Look at the dumpsters, some are only for cardboard now!
We are right in the middle of where Thornton, Westminster, Northglenn, and Federal Heights are, so we've been going to Westminster's recycling for years until they changed it recently and then rehauled the whole program where they ID you now to prove your Westminster residency before you can recycle, so we decided to check out our actual city's recycling.
I wasn't expecting such a big facility when I drove in to recycle at Thornton today! Very cool, very neat. I'll be using it from now on!
For a city that collect such high taxes, they don't seem to be providing much services. It's just tree branches, why makes it so complicated. It's something that city should be able to provide/assist the people more than just 2x per year. I can't just cut down a tree and wait for 5 months to dump it.
Reasonable setting for recycling. The actual opening to swing by the bins is on 126th and Ogden. The gate has a key pad but you don't need to use it to enter. Just go through during their hours m-f.
Highly annoying that Northglenn which is a much smaller city does tree branch drop off every week and Thornton can only do it once a month. I have properties in both and have been to both. Even by being open every week, Northglenn is busy every time I go. Thornton needs to step up to the plate.
Quite possibly the most unhelpful experience so far in Thornton. Asked them how to or where to drop off recycling or yard waste. They shrugged their shoulders and wished me good luck since the city of Thornton only offers these services a couple times a year :(
