I received a letter from WM complaining of material that should not have been in my recycling bin. Look people walk by and discard things in the nearest container! I have seen them deposit dog waste in my container. Thats not my problem nor am I getting paid to monitor the containers. Perhaps you should provide every resident with a detailed list of whats acceptable and whats not. Then again city waste is the job of you who collect it.

I don't appreciate you sending me photos of my trash can. I'm not impressed. I had some tree limbs sticking out of the top. It seems like you would have better things to do. Tell your driver to just do his job. I would switch to another company if I could. I had the lid closed, the wind probably blew it open or maybe your driver opened it.

Had to drop off tvs etc(E-Waste) in Simi Valley and it was so easy...sign in and drop off...even had help removing the tvs:)

WM has always been on time. When I've had to call their office they are professional , friendly and efficient. The drivers are very friendly and always do a great job!

WM contracts should be audited by city officials because the company charges for services not rendered and customer support is unresponsive as well as has an overall low rating.

I scheduled an irregular pickup over the phone with Denise, she was very helpful. Angel, the driver, showed up sooner than expected. He was great!

They are awesome picking up extra items after Christmas was great I was able to get rid of a lot of trash and it was wonderful staff always on the phone

Weekly garbage collection is great, but being able to get a new garbage container not so great. VERY difficult to be able to actually talk with someone to find out the logistics of getting a new container. They could be more transparent about that.

Waste Management is truly one of the most unprofessional service companies I have dealt with.
I have had multiple billing issues with them in the past, and many of my neighbors have experienced missed trash pickups as well. Unfortunately, today was another example of their poor service and complete lack of customer care.
This morning, I was outside speaking with a neighbor when a moving truck briefly passed in front of my home. Instead of waiting literally five seconds, the Waste Management driver skipped my trash bin entirely—despite it being completely full and clearly accessible moments later.
I immediately called Waste Management and spoke with a representative named Cheryl (spelled S-H-E-R-R-E-L-L). She informed me that they would charge me $15 to come back and collect my trash, stating that it was “not their fault.” I explained that all the driver had to do was wait a few seconds and the bin would have been collected without any issue. Her response was that their drivers “don’t wait” and that it was my fault due to a moving company briefly being in the way.
What was most disappointing was the lack of empathy or accountability. Cheryl made me feel like a completely unimportant customer and showed no interest in resolving the situation fairly. The attitude was dismissive, unapologetic, and indifferent.
Waste Management operates like a monopoly, and it shows. If there were real competition in this space, I would switch services immediately. Between the billing problems, missed pickups, and poor customer service, this company consistently falls short.
I would not recommend Waste Management to anyone who expects professionalism, reasonable service, or basic customer respect.Dec 29, 2025 -
Waste management sucks if it’s the holidays they I don’t know if they get like a week or two weeks off, but it takes them forever to pick up your trash like there is buildup of trash everywhere. This company is very lazy.

I have been overbilled for 5+ years and Waste Management still has not rectified the issue and continues to bill for an additional bin that was returned over 5 years ago. They are stalling to continue over charging.

The garage professionals that pick up our trash, recycle, and yard waste are great people who care about their work. They don’t leave messes and place the cans back where they got them. They are nice people and have always been willing to help. We have been completely satisfied with Waste Management!

Their phone system is a joke. Good luck trying to get a hold of a live person. My trash cans were taken (are missing) I have been waiting for a new can while my trash keeps piling up, meanwhile I'm sure I'm getting charged for a service not being provided.

They have smaller bins!! If you want a smaller bin ask! They have them. Replaced my giant ones with more manageable ones without a hit hitch! Thanks wm

Overall the service is good but their new system of flagging recycling for banned items is infuriating. We keep getting letters saying we put items in there we shouldn’t have even though we are not. We are very careful and never put bags in the recycle bin. When I contact them they can’t even figure out what the item is. They say sometimes it is flagged indirectly by the driver. We’re basically not using the recycle bin anymore because they keep threatening fines. A very frustrating and flawed system!

Overall great service and on time. Three times this year trash was lifted on the truck but not dumped. WM is quick to resolve all my issues.

Always on time. Always responsive. Just a couple weeks ago I called to say one of our buckets was cracked and WM replaced it the next trash pickup day. That's service!

I moved from Simi Valley and cancelled my service with WM. A month later I got a bill for service. Called customer support explained to them home was sold new owners have WM services in their name. Customer service said nothing the could as service was in my name still. I had to cancel again pay the bill as they would not look to see if service was in the new owners name. WM is the only trash service in Simi Valley you have no choice but to use them. Did I also say it took 3+ days to reach customer service by phone. They never responded to email

I have had great service from WM for over 20 years. I recently moved out of California and I have to share the Brisya Corona at the Simi Valley office was incredible in helping me to schedule multiple large item pick ups which made my move less stressful and gave me peace of mind that they would be removed on the scheduled days. Her level of patience, professionalism, and exceptional customer service is very rare. She provided me her email and for the items I was able to donate or sell she would graciously remove them from my list of items and add different items so the pick up driver had the correct list on the day of pick up. She also sent me a follow up email a week after I moved to ask if I needed assistance in turning off my service, updated my mailing address so I could receive any additional bills if needed, and wished me well at my new home. Thank you Brisya. You are a huge asset to the Waste Management company. All my best Betsy!

I was wanting to get detailed help on how to dispose of food items. Bag or don't and place where. What kind of food can be recycle.. Also what to do with some other items. I could not find anywhere the answers.
No one to talk to . Gave up and puting all trash in one can. I would like to recycle if I knew where to put it/handle it. and where does it go.

I called and asked about the charge for 2 green waste bins. The person said my fee can be reduced - leave the extra bin out to be collected. I put it with a note on the top, plus my regular WM green bin. You collected both. I called that I now have 0 green waste bin. The person said 1 would be given to me, free of charge, on 10/16. But I can do any green waste until after that. I'm waiting to see if all this really happens.

I have always given WM 4 or 5 stars, but now only 1 star. The reason? They allowed the waste from the fire zones to be dumped in our local landfill and this included HAZARDOUS WASTE! I am sure that they were very content making loads of money by allowing this dumping and by turning a blind eye what was being dumped in our community. And when the hazardous waste was "discovered", we don't even get so much as an apology.

Trash pickup was missed. Reported it and was told it would be picked up on the next business morning. It was not. Spoke to another representative and they said the driver canceled the request and claimed the can wasn’t there when he went to pick it up. That was a lie. I have my own surveillance in the front of my house that proves the trashcan was never moved for several days while we were waiting for it to be picked up. So they put in a new order to be picked up the day after that phone call and it still was not picked up. Then I was told they would do a double pick up on that next trash day. They would empty the can then come back that same day and empty it a second time but they would charge me seven dollars to do so. I wasn’t happy about the charge, but I agreed. Trash day came and went and they did the regular pick up, but never came the second time even though they charged me. Worst customer service ever. If there was another company available, then I would definitely switch.

WM has been amazing! Their customer service is easy to reach, friendly, and always helpful. I love their text notifications regarding any delays or change updates because of the holidays. We just got a notice that they will be having their annual FREE pick-up of extra trash items, too. I can't say enough great things about this company and their wonderful service. Thank you!!!!

I'm seriously starting to have an issue with WM as they've missed my trash cans at least twice in the course of 2 months where the cans are out the night before. I have called at least twice and both times they say they will pick it up before 6 pm that day and then never do. I'm going to continue on giving a bad review until they do what our association pays them to do. Its not fair that they only miss us from the entire block.

Your company has very good and dependable pickups dates/times but as far as customer service it is without a doubt the worst I have ever experienced with any company. On trash a month ago one day one recycle bin just disappeared. I have been working for OVER A MONTH now to get it replaced. To call your office anyone RARELY answers. Your site to file a complaint is just as useless. WHERE CAN YOU DO JUST SIMPLY THAT. To talk to anyone is almost impossible. I did after calling several times for weeks, ringing for over an hour at times during office hours when finally both Eric and Robert B. did answer (who were very nice and accommodating). Eric finally got it scheduled to pick up my old cans (only 3 because 1 disappeared) but to drop off 4 like I have been paying for for years and sure enough I KNEW they would mess it up. They did, driver picked up my 3 and only left 3 NOT 4!!! Back on the phone again, this is so stressful!!! So for a month now I have had only 3 cans while I am paying for 4. I finally got to speak to Robert B. and he ordered a delivery for the extra can so let's just see if it ever arrives!!! He said the order was placed to drop of 4 so either the driver could not count or read or just did not give a damn. This sort of customer service is really unacceptable. I wonder if they will credit my account anything for not having the extra can I paid for for over a month or if they will apologize. My guess is not to hold my breath but I'd have more luck winning the lottery. IF there were another service to subscribe to I would after this experience. Not to mention MY TIME which "I" value as do others who depend on my. Needless to say after this experience I feel there is no excuse for this. As I said, to call is almost hopeless and the website is extremely difficult to use and obviously to get anyone to act on. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Sorry...not the customer service contact or access part anyway....once you contact them which is highly unlikely it is fine. Not that it will work out or that the service you request will be granted.
