Went in to buy power steering fluid for my boyfriend for his 4runner. I was pretty confident I had gotten the right one, but to certain I asked. Guy said he didn’t think so, *checked his computer* and instead told me to get the royal purple max ez. Now I don’t know much about cars, but that didn’t sound right. I buy it anyway, because Im sure this person is more knowledgeable than me about car. I get home and it’s the wrong one. Went into ventura because i didn’t really wanna go back after that.
Super friendly and helpful associates. Easy to navigate store, lots of options. The associate helped me double check I was getting the right bulbs. Glad to have this shop in Ojai.
A young man Caleb helped save me today! My battery died, and it was 103 degrees outside. I got a jump and made it to Napa. Their price was reasonable and he helped put the battery in for me. A local shop wanted $500! As a single mom I couldn’t afford that. Saved me today!
Went in to get a serpentine belt for my truck they didn’t have the same brand I normally get but said that their NAPA brand was made by the same company and it would be the exact same. They looked up my truck and ordered the belt that was supposedly the right one. Went back in when it arrived they double checked to make sure it was the right belt and said it was. Installed it on my truck but when doing so I realized it was really tight. I assumed because my old belt had a rip and was very old that maybe it was just worn and had lost its form. Since it had a rip though and I didn’t want to be stranded I had no choice but to leave the new one on. My truck idled very high and was starting to have problems the following weeks. So I went to O’Reillys and got a new belt from the manufacturer that I normally get and sure enough the belt that Napa “double checked” was not the right size. Years ago this store used to be very well stocked and had employees who knew what they were doing. That were knowledgeable about the parts they were selling and ordering. But in the last year and a half or so I’ve gone to get odds and ends and noticed they don’t carry a lot of stuff any more. Being the only auto parts store in the valley you’d think they’d capitalize on that and carry a lot of the basic stuff. They don’t even have spark plug sockets!!!! But they sell spark plugs….
I always try and buy locally, and Napa Auto Parts of Ojai is no different. Very informative and always friendly. Big time help to get my buddy's Chevy HD Duramax back on the road. Thanks for your help, to the crew at Napa of Ojai. ?
It's always wonderful getting the supplies and parts we need for Meiners Oaks Water District from Napa Auto Parts in Ojai. Everyone there is always so helpful and friendly. Today I got some things plus a battery tender for our trailer. Took 2 minutes to install.
Only auto parts store in the whole of the Ojai Valley, and as such, customer service is lacking. You'll often stand at counter waiting while the employees sit at their computer terminals, I assume each employee waiting for the other to help you. It's not terrible service, but markedly different than the service you get at nation-wide chains such as Autozone. But you'll have to go to Ventura for that. This place has you by the shorthairs, and they act as such. Just my opinion.
There are bad customer service, horrible customer service and than this...! I don't really think is NAPA Auto Parts any more. This guys are way beyond mediocre service. Everyone knows is the only place for car parts but is giving a bad reputation to the businesses in Ojai. What a shame...!
I ordered a special socket and pre paid for it. They were supposed to call me when it came in, about two or three days. A week past and no phone call. I called them and asked, if my socket came in. They didn't have a record of my order, with the order number I gave them. He proceeded to tell me , they could order it for me. I explained that I already did. I finally spoke to the man I ordered it from and he located it. All I have to say is..."They're not very attentive!" Otherwise, the only place in the Ojai Valley to get car stuff. I think they know that!
First of all Ojai Auto will never be able to beat Walmart or Autozone prices. Ojai Auto is family owned and operated and is only associated with Napa for the parts supply. For a small town like Ojai, this is the perfect little shop. They have a knowledgeable and kind staff. The older fellow who is there Monday through Wednesday probably has more auto parts knowledge than every person at every Autozone combined! He's great! Besides that, they offer free one day shipping on most parts (yes, just like Amazon prime) and they always give you options and are willing to help. Ojai is an expensive place, and we have to support our local businesses to keep them alive.
I'm done with these guys. Three strikes and they are out.
First strike, they gave me a 24v relay for my 12v vehicle. Insisted it was OEM and I didn't even notice until I was knee deep in my project.
Second strike, insisted that my manual transmission took ATF and that is what the manufacturer called for. I believed them and purchased five quarts of the over priced stuff but did some research when I got home. It would have ruined my transmission had I gone on their word. Waste of money.
Third and final strike ,$10 a quart for synthetic oil= ridiculous. That, and every time I've been in that store the employees are cussing up a storm and talking about baby mama this and F that A-Hole M-F'er.
I'm done. No professionalism exists in this establishment. I'll drive to Ventura just for washer fluid and ask every person I know in the Ojai Valley if they want me to pick something up for them so that they don't have to deal with Ojai Auto Supply. Pretty sure you guys would be out of business if you weren't the only general auto supplier in the Ojai Valley.
