Every time I’m visiting Twain Harte I always stop by this adorable shop! Super cute curated handmade and vintage items, and I always leave with cute prints and stickers! I love all the cat and animal merch here- the owner is super friendly also and supports local businesses! Highly recommend
What a unique place! Besides being stuffed with fun and quirky items, there's some high quality vintage styles and a few great antiques. Not your typical Thrift Store. They also have houseplants!
Every time I go to The Clever Crow, there is something exciting and new! She has tons of local artists' creations displayed for sale and her collection of plants is amazing. It has quickly become one of my favorite places to shop. The owner is wonderful, and super helpful if you have any questions.
Best little thrift store in the whole mountains and foothills. Trust me I’ve been to them all. This one doesn’t just have the same old Pyrex and typical stuff you’ll see at all the other antique thrift stores, this store is different. She’s very mindful of what she sells, very creative, very demure. This little store is worth planning a whole day-trip up to Twain Harte for.
My husband and I stopped in while on vacation. We loved it!! It’s a perfect mix of vintage, second hand, and new. We found some Twain-Harte mementos, the COOLEST belt buckle, and I loved the plant room. I wish I had more room in my luggage. It’s worth the stop!

I love this shop and visit every time when I am in town! I have found vintage clothes, earrings and purses that I love and my 65yo mother and 9yo daughter always find something for themselves too. A real treasure chest of goods and it is great for unique gifts that fit a wide range of budgets.
Surprisingly it's also an amazing little plant shop with lots of beautiful indoor plants and all the gardening tools too - gloves, plant food, cute pots, you name it, Norah has it!
Highly recommend coming in for a visit with a friend to look around with and say things like "oooh look at this!" The store is so well curated you will definitely find something beautiful to take home with you!
The Clever Crow is a true delight! Upon stepping foot in the shop, one is greeted with a feast for the eyes: vintage treasures for the home and closet collections, plants and garden accoutrements, carefully curated art prints and originals, jewelry... You never know what you might find and that is what makes visits to The Clever Crow so enticing, not to mention the proprietor of the shop being a whole vibe of welcoming charm, with good tunes as the soundtrack! I also consign with TCC and it makes my heart sing to know that my pre-loved items will find new homes within this enclave of cool, affordable, eclectic, chic.
Love The Clever Crow! Lots of unusual treasures to browse through! I especially love that Nora always has healthy plants to buy, and tips to keep them alive. Always fun to go there!
I never know what treasure I'm going to find at the Clever Crow. Maybe a pair of Converse All Stars, a perfect little plant, a cup that fits in my hand just right, a necklace that sparks joy made of bones, or my new favorite napkins. What I do know is that I love the assortment of art, kitchen wares, cards, decor, clothing, books, and accessories that feed the eccentric and vintage styles I so enjoy. This store is a fantastic way to spend time and money in Twain Harte!
I loved coming in for the first time. So many beautiful things and everything is displayed so nicely. I will be coming back soon. Norah is an amazing person and extremely helpful.
What a cute thrift store! I was able to bring in some donated items and took time to browse. There are used items and consignment items. Some of which are homemade. A great variety of merchandise in a small space. The owner, Norah, is very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be going back to this thrift store and take more time to browse and shop. Fortunately, Norah Whitehead opened The Clever Crow while members of my family were engaged in absorbing and disposing of a home full of furnishings and family mementos. As we sorted through the items, we began to work with Norah to sell many of them via consignment at this delightful shop. Thanks to Norah and her clientele, we now have the space to enjoy our tiny home, use the garage again, and have a much smaller storage unit. From the same shop, we’ve replaced furnishings that no longer fit in my home with lovely, smaller pieces that better serve our needs. She is selective about the items she will take and displays them attractively. She appropriately prices items; effectively tracks sales; and is timely in payment.
I frequently shop the eclectic collection of new and used items at The Clever Crow: books, unique gifts, jewelry, vintage clothing, and unusual house plants. A visit to the Clever Crow (in Twain Harte by the library) is always an interesting, enjoyable way to spend a few minutes out of your day.
Okay, my kids and I love this little shop. I am not a shopper, in fact I hate shopping! But this little shop is a gem. The shop owner, Norah is always so warm and inviting. Even when she's had a long day, she's just lovely to be around. I love about her shop that it's super eclectic, from her consignment items; clothes to household items, jewelry, soaps, cards, planters, oh my goodness, its a little mini haven! Even for a non-shopper like me. The best part of her shop is her houseplant selection. Stuff you won't find at Lowe's. She's even special ordered items her and I have talked about! Very cool. I also consign with her and am very pleased with the whole process and how fair she is. Actually, all of her prices are very fair. She has a great turn around, so I see new items there everytime I go in.

The Clever Crow is a fantastic place full of trinkets ranging from vintage furniture to local made crafts. Some of my best outfits have come from browsing through the clothing section of the store. Plus there are lots of great gifts for any kind of person. Socks, soaps, plants, glasses, earrings, the list goes on. If you are in the area The Clever Crow is the place to go!
A delightful shop with relaxing vibes. I live in the Bay Area but visit Twain Harte regularly and I ALWAYS make it a point to stop at The Clever Crow. Each time I walk away with inspired gifts for others and treasures for myself! (I typically don't like to shop....)
This shop is adorable and so whenever we are in the area, we make sure to stop in. We always find interesting new items including lotions and plants, along with GREAT handmade and vintage items. So whether you are looking for handcrafted ceramics or jewelry, small gardening items, vintage furniture, kitchen glassware and clothing; used books or “upcycled” repurposed clever gift items all for a reasonable price, this shop is guaranteed not to disappoint.
Note: My husband seems to always score a great vintage Aloha shirt every time we stop in, so he is as happy as I am to spend time there, which makes for a happier shopping experience, LOL!

It is always overflowing with the most interesting curiosities and treasures you’re likely to come across, and their mission of selling vintage, repurposed, and second hand items means you can always feel good about being a responsible consumer. The owner is wonderful to talk to and clearly has a passion for fun, creativity, and sustainable living. I love that they’re constantly adding new items to the store so it’s never the same as your last visit, and if you’re like me and you can’t always make it in person, they’re more than happy to offer quick and easy shipping. What’s not to love?
I purchased the perfect couch at The Clever Crow from Norah Whitehead and couldn’t be happier. The quality and condition of the couch was exactly as described and the price was even better than expected. On top of that, Norah is a pleasure to work with. What a great surprise to find The Clever Crow thrift and gift shop in the upper Twain Harte shopping center! (near the library) Norah has great taste and is delightful. It’s bigger than it appears from the outside. The longer I stayed the more goodies I found. Her prices are very reasonable too.Can’t wait to visit again when I come back! Patty C.
