My son’s car wouldn’t start as he was heading back from college. The driver treated him with so much kindness and respect, and made sure the car got to the shop safely. I couldn’t be more thankful.
I’ve used them twice now—once for my personal car and once for my company van. Both times, the drivers were professional and fast. Consistently excellent service.
WARNING! I would not use this company. We were quoted and exorbitant $350 but then billed $750 for a ONE mile tow just 9 miles or 12 minutes from their shop location according the Apple Maps. Total scam! They can charge you anything they would like because they have your vehicle and will just charge you more time if you try to disagree. Not a reputable way to do business. I paid $107 just for the time it took them to run my credit card and send a receipt because the battery was dead on the credit card swiper.
I’ll give them one star because I have to. I waited on the side of the road for 3 hours and they never showed, never called and when I called they never answered. Contacted Geico to let them know and cancelled the order after another tow truck from a different company showed up in 30 minutes. If you can’t make it in the time you promised don’t say you will.
This company was scheduled to come in 60 minutes. They arrived in less than 20. The driver was patient, courteous and overall extremely professional. Thank you so much for helping us out of a jam!

I had a blowout on my way to work on westbound l-80. I was waiting for United Towing Services of Sacramento but they never arrived! My roadside assistance rep then called Payless Towing Inc. They arrived 10 minutes ahead schedule. Dean was very professional and I appreciate everything that was done for me today! Highly recommended!
These guys left me hanging today with a flat tire for 3 1/2 hours and then they canceled with no call to let me know. I had to get out of my car and walk to Walmart and get an air compressor and blow my own tire up. Don’t depend on them because they suck
Absolutely outrageous prices and bad customer service. I would not recommend to ANYONE! Charging us almost 5 GRAND just to tow our truck across Fairfield.
After a bad experience with another company, I called Payless Towing for a complex recovery (a loaded trailer in a ditch). JJ and his team brought a rotator wrecker, secured everything perfectly, and had us out in under two hours. No upselling, just honest, skilled work. I’ll never call anyone else!
Payless Towing is a heavy-duty hero. Our cement mixer broke down at 2 AM, and their heavy-duty division was there in 45 minutes. Their driver was a pro—knew exactly how to position the rig without causing damage. Fair pricing, no hassles. These guys are the real deal!

I had an incredibly disappointing experience with this company. My truck was towed in by CHP, and they charged an outrageous $5,500 for a tow that lasted about 1 hour and 30 minutes and covered only 6-7 miles. Absolutely ridiculous pricing.
To make matters worse, aside from the receptionist (who was at least polite), every other person I dealt with was extremely rude. No courtesy, no professionalism — just a terrible attitude all around. It felt like they completely forgot that they’re dealing with real people in stressful situations.
If you have a choice, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
Terrible service! Be aware. Over price towing service, and if you want to pick up your car on weekends, you will pay 215$ more. For me, they charged 1400$ for 5 miles towing and 24 hours stored . Scammers.
I can’t describe how poorly Payless Towing is run in a just few words but I will try. For starters they charged a trucking company that was hauling my freight $6000 to tow their trailer for what was less than 25 mls…likely closer to 15 mls. Once the trailer was on their site I tried help the trucking company to retrieve their trailer because my freight was onboard. I was told there was only one man designated to work at the office, his name was Daniel. Daniel stated he had no authority to do anything without his manager Joe’s permission. Daniel informed me that he was unable to read emails sent to them and that only Joe could do that and he wasn’t on site. He would not give me a phone number to reach Joe and their phone number which I tried many times often went to voicemail and calls were not returned. Daniel told me he called Joe and left messages and didn’t get answer back many times. It took four days to coordinate the release of the trailer not all Payless Towing fault but their level of communication was as poor as any company I have ever delt with in my 30 years of business. If possible I would avoid use of this company at all cost. The positive reviews I read are likely friends or self posted. If I could rate 0 stars I would.
My sister says she has worked with many tow companies over four decades and had never dealt with such rude service and then been overcharged. She says don't expect to receive accurate pricing over the phone, prompt service, or any empathy for what may be a rough day; says you will likely be treated more like a hindrance and then pay through the nose for the treatment. They used to be called Peabody Towing and Roadside (see that name for more reviews and details about service).
I wanted to give a huge shout out to Muhammed who changed my flat tire when I hit a pipe in the road on Saturday 1/25/25. He is such a nice, professional, and patient man and I’m so lucky he was there to help me out! Thanks again Payless Towing for your incredible workers!
This towing company is a ripoff. They charge by the hour of $392/hr to be exact and I had them tow my vehicle from Vacaville Alamo Dr to Ron Dupratt Ford in Dixon which is less than 15 miles then the invoice was $595. I called them to complain and placed me on hold then later hanged up on me. Then I called again, but they been screening my calls after that.
Dean from Payless really helped me out. I got a flat tire on the freeway. I called my insurance and they sent Dean out. Dean arrived within 45 min! I am not joking from the second he parked to when we were driving off was about 5 minutes. We are so grateful for Dean and Payless towing because I really was in need. I was starting my drive across the country to move and I got a flat my first mile in! I was able to get back on the road the same day and make my next destination just fine!
Alex was professional and courteous. It made the situation a lot less stressful than it needed to be. Would definitely recommend to anyone requiring towing service.
