I was there today and I've been going here for over 20yrs, and today I experienced one of the rudest people today. He walked past me as I was standing in line and he purposely bumped me and didn't say anything! Outside of that this place is pretty good.
This place was a complete rip off. They shorted me on my weights for copper and aluminum. They also have terrible cheap prices. Do not waste your time here. You are better to drive 30 minutes away to get double your money and twice the service.

I came here with one 13-gallon trash bag full of plastic, and the worker told me, “Next time, when it’s like this, just count them.” That comment was unnecessary and honestly, rude. First of all, I live in my SUV — I don’t have space to let recyclables pile up. I brought what I could manage, cleared out my space, and still got $3.23, which clearly means what I brought had value.
But instead of just processing it and moving on, he decided to make a comment that felt more like a dig than anything helpful. It felt like he wanted to embarrass me in front of the other people there, just to get attention or approval. He could’ve easily said nothing — the job would’ve still gotten done. But some people just want to be a dick because they can.
The way I was spoken to made me feel out of place — like I was doing something wrong for not bringing in a mountain of bags. And honestly? That’s ridiculous. Did it ever occur to you that maybe some people don’t have the space to store weeks of recyclables? That maybe we’re just doing our best to stay clean, stay afloat, and act responsibly?
I won’t be coming back after that experience. And after this, I’m honestly done recycling altogether. The judgment, the tone, the lack of empathy — all of it made something that should’ve been simple feel humiliating. If you’re going to work with the public, learn how to treat people with dignity — no matter how much or how little they bring.
This was our first time to this recycling center and we had at least 8 months of plastic bottles, cans, and glass. We got paid a lot more than we expected, so that was an amazing surprise.
Everyone was very respectful and helpful. We’ll definitely be coming back. I Highly recommend this facility.
Called to inquire about a certain material and the woman who answered greeted me with, “hello” which had me wondering if I called the correct number. She was pretty rude which tends to be the norm at this place.
I went 3 different times and always carried the same weight. I weighed them at home before going, 1 time I think she paid me the fair amount! The other 2 times I had a different cashier and she robbed me. She just wanted to confirm my suspicions that they were stealing the money and that is what happened. Another thing, I looked at the scale and it was 78 pounds and she paid me 25. And if I want to point out just one person, I don't know if her name is the one on the receipt but it says ANA LEON there, she is a white lady! I don't think it is fair that they steal from people like this who enthusiastically want some extra money and they steal from us in this way $42 for 78 pounds, thieves! Go wherever, except there!
My over all experience has been ok. I wasn't all that familiar with the process and how it really works as far as the different recycle materials go and separating them to get the correct values, but I figured it all out. The only thing I didn't like is how they stack the bins on top of each other, when each bin has its own value, (5¢ vs 10¢) don't understand how they can get correct weight and correct value for different materials doing it that way. Other than that, it's a good place to go and the workers are helpful too.
STAY AWAY!! RIP YOU OFF!!! Worst prices in the bay… horrible management. They don’t pay either… came in after dropping off some copper, at the most ridiculously lowest price I have ever seen, and said I was late. They kept my copper and the money. CROOKS!! Seriously, go ANYWHERE but here!!
I still dread coming to this place... BUT this one brotha named J.J. helped me out with my recycling on a recent visit I made to Recycle Zone and I have to say he's one of the BEST employees this place has. Excellent communication skills he displayed and provided great assistance. Recycle Zone needs to keep J.J. on board for a LONG TIME. J.J. is the ONLY reason I changed my last review of this establishment from a one star to a three star review. If J.J. continues to work at Recycle Zone I just MIGHT bump this place up to a 4 star review? We'll see?
Great service. It gets you in and out real quick, especially when you arrive early in the morning, and it's not such a busy day. First time coming here, and it was a nice and fast experience. Though I was kinda bummed out about the check. I brought 6 30-gallon bags, 3 bags of aluminum cans, and 3 bags of plastic bottles and received $187, but overall good experience.
I Have been doing business with them for years...and they've only gotten better

This place is ran by incompetent people. They put a 3 day hold on payments for scrap wire even if you have an Electrical License. Then when you go to pick up your check, they won't let you walk in to pick it up, they want you to wait in a long line behind all the vehicles waiting to unload their recycling. You are fine to bike in, take a scooter etc... but you can't walk in. Ridiculous. Pure stupidity and I will never return.
The old dirty looking white lady that works the cash register has a terrible attitude. She spends too much time flirting with the guys that work there that look half her age. She is a terrible representation of the company and needs to work on cleaning the place up instead of sitting there like she’s the queen of dirty recyclables. She thinks she’s above others although she’s only the help and it’s very telling just by looking at her face, which is maybe why she already looks 70 years old and washed up. I know it’s a recycling place but maybe clean her self up, wash her greasy hair, and try to at least make herself look presentable and she’ll feel better before her shift. Yuck
Never realized how close this place was to my house. My family and i drink a lot of water bottles so this was very convenient. Came in and out in no time.
What can you say, it's a recycling center. The tops to the plastic containers covered the parking area with an equal amount of small pieces of glass as well. Parking spots were very limited. Closing at 3:30 pm is too early with them being the only center within 20 miles. The employees were friendly and worked quickly. If you want to avoid lines of cars and people, try to go on a weekday. Experience has taught me to stay away on the weekends, but if that's when you have to go, I suggest getting there early.
Process was easy enough. You get the bin empty and sort your stuff. Then wait in line for them to weigh it out. It gets pretty busy so expect to spend at least an hour minimum. As some other reviews stated they don't pay you for everything. And defiantly take a big cut. My son saved for a little under a year and got $30only. He's happy about it but I'll be sure to check out other places for next time
This recycling center. I have to tip my hat down. It is not only one of the cleanest ones that I have visited, but it is also one of the most well maintained and they pay you properly. I've heard of different locations where you go to try and recycle Are bottles and cans but this place also takes 10 cans from soup. Laundry detergent plastic bottles that are used And they pay you probably the main thing is they pay you properly. Be mindful if you get to arrive to close Too close to their closing time. They will turn you away. Check online for the time. This place is worth the Drive
The place to go to recycle. Workers are helpful and friendly and try to move the line along to get your recycling done. Have containers for you to fill up and drag round your recycle, sometimes you have to wait for some to free up but you don't wait long. It's hot out there in the summer waiting in line, just an fyi. Also best to bring some gloves cause recycling is dirty job! Good prices for your recycling too. Good place imo.
The scales are definitely off!! And if its not the scales then the workers are off ..i have never left out of there with the amount i even thought would be close..to what i had ,in fact i go to vaca valley recycling with a half a bag of the crv bottles and get the same amount as a full bag at recycling zone ..so that is what i know !!! So it is up to you if you want to try ...i have done it 4 times with the same results so i do not recommend it.I have to give it a 1 star because it wont let me leave it blank ...
I went with a truck load and to be honest I was almost dreading going after reading some of the not so kind reviews. For my personal experience the staff was extra friendly and very helpful. Nicole was at the register and I think she was amazing. So was the gentleman that weighed my recycling. Sorry I dont know his name but I was there on Wednesday July 18, 2018 @ 9:25AM. Thank you for professional way you spoke to me and taught me a few things about how recycling is separated. GREAT JOB!
I brought 2,350 lb of clean steel and 215 lb of clean aluminum all 100% aluminum wheels. And I got $34 dollars , I cannot help the feeling of getting ripped off at this place based on other places I’ve gone to, were I would get at least $120 for this. But than again I guess it’s better than paying at the dump, and the people were friendly. Would I come here again? ....... no I won’t come here again.
Been here once and they are ripping people off. Not my first time recycling. Customer service is not good from the little short dusty lady that looks like she lives there, very rude for no reason. She tells you how much weight you had then gives you a check...when I find a way and to who I will be reporting it. They are straight taking advantage of people. 3 other people there at the same time one being my husbands coworker felt they had been taking advantage of because of the large amount they had as well and didn't receive much.
My family went in today to take some old car parts from my car(exhaust and gas tank). Hey made sure to call before hand and were told yes we accept exhaust from old cars and the tank needs to have a 2 inch hole in it to be accepted. They drove over and all items were inspected and were accepted. Mind you my muffler is stainless steel and much profit could have been made by this company. Then some snarky lady who I know has caused problems in the past said we don't accept this type of stuff and it's all fake and dirty. Gas tank came off my car and was damaged and exhaust was aftermarket. She claimed the exhaust system had been stolen for all she knows. Every time I go here we get robbed for what we turn in and I was honestly just trying to take it in for some payback. But was they walked away she said well you can donate it.....are you joking me now you want it because you know you will profit a lot off of this. Stay away boycott this place so they can go out of business. Also not military friendly as they berated an Airman in uniform.....
I have been coming here for many years and the people have always been super nice to me. They have a separate parking spot for handicapped people and if you are handicapped they will take your cans/bottles our of your vehicle for you and place them in the baskets. They will do the whole transaction and you don't even have to get out of your car. I really appreciate the great job they do and the quick service. This recycling center is very busy but no matter how busy they get you in and out efficiently. As of 11.30.15 they are currently open M-F 8:15A -4P & SAT 8:15A-3P & CLOSED on SUNDAY.
