Not my smartest move driving my Tesla Model X up to Bohemotash. Mountain. Yep, I got a flat. The shale rock did me in. Thankfully my roadside assistance got me in touch with the calm presence of DJ at Calfornia Towing. He sent his boss, Kevin #1, out on a Jeep to see if they could get a tow truck up there.
Kevin realized that I had gone further than a tow truck could make it and so he said he would send Bryan out to replace the right front tire thus allowing me to drive back down.
Bryan came out on his 30-foot flatbed tow truck with a 4x4 equipped truck on the back of that, drove up to my car, removed the tire/ rim, brought that to America's Tire, waited for them to mount the new tire, drove that back to my car, and replaced it.
I then went up the mountain in Quad with a friend so I could try to drive my car down. As we went up, I saw Bryan driving down. He had the studied nonchalance of a man who is used to rough terrain driving. Amazing.
I drove my car down only to get a second flat, one mile from the park entrance. Another call to California Towing, this time answered by the equally calm Kevin #2. He said he would send Bryan back out. Kevin #1 also called to tell me that he suspected they would be able to drive the flatbed tow truck backwards to where I was parked/ pick up the vehicle/ get it off the mountain to America's Tire. Really? Drive in reverse over rough terrain?
And dang me, that is what happened. The wizard Bryan drove his flatbed in reverse over a mile uphill to retrieve my car. He then texted to say he got the car strapped on and was heading out. This seemed like a typical day for him. I am grateful for his driving skill and easy-going manner. I can't even imagine driving in reverse for more than 50 - 75 feet, let alone 1+ miles uphill over loose gravel and shale. How does someone learn to do that and what innate ability must they have to be so calm/ precise/ technical?
Big props to the California Towing gang with special kudos to Bryan for the heavy lifting. I hope to never need them again and certainly am done with fool-hardy off-road driving. But if I do need a tow, I would call these folks in a heartbeat. Lesson learned.
I parked next to a red curb at the soccer park(my bad) these guys towed my truck about 1 mile away and had it on their yard for less than an hour and charged me over $500 after making me wait in their parking lot for a half hour to pick it up knowing fully I would need the vehicle to get my kid home. Straight up extortion !
Awesome service from the get-go. Reservation was quick and best quote in town. Earlier than “on-time” and driver was friendly and efficient. A couple mos later I had to request another copy of invoice w/o me having my car details (license plate or last 5 VIN# and the guy remembered my car and was able to pull invoice quickly and text it to me. Definitely recommend and use this service again, if needed.
Bryan was absolutely wonderful! Came and was very helpful and thoughtful in helping us get our vehicle towed. Couldn’t ask for better service and care, and I feel grateful!
Excellent customer service! A big shout out to Bryan who showed up early and waited patiently for me to arrive. My car broke down the night before and I was 20 mins late the next morning. Bryan was patient, courteous, and professional. He was a master at maneuvering my car in and out of the tow truck and did everything with care and attention. I had my car delivered to the closest Toyota service in Redding which was about 15 minutes away. We had a pleasant conversation on the drive there. I was so pleased with the service I wanted to tip him, but I didn’t have cash or check with me. He told me not to worry about it and to express my gratitude through a review instead. So here I am. 5/5 stars! Bryan you were awesome! Completely genuine and extremely helpful. I am very satisfied with the service and I highly recommend California Towing & Transport!

It took My car right to my house with no problems even offered To take my car to a mechanic or whatever, and if I need any help in that further to reach out to them. This review is long overdue. Both our front tires completely shredded on our roadtrip up to Oregon. We were first towed by another company, and after some tire installation mishaps we realized we needed to be towed again to the nearest Tesla service center. Bryan did a fantastic job getting us there. And because we just had a tow the day before, the difference in professionalism Bryan exhibited in the art of towing was like night and day. If you need a tow job done, he’s the guy!
Dylan is the best! Dylan was recommended by Tesla as a specialist in towing these creatures. He was kind enough to give us a ride also. Dylan is incredibly kind, professional, knowledgeable, and you can see that his light is really on. We so appreciate him. The Tesla would not charge late at night, so we had to spend the night in Corning, but everyone was so kind, and he agreed that our trip was better having met Dylan and then if we would’ve made it home tonight before. Thanks Dylan!
Bryan from California Towing has towed my EV truck twice now, and both times he did a fantastic job. The first time he had to drag it out of my garage (he was the 2nd tow company I called, after the first one said they couldn't do it) and the 2nd time was in a parking lot with barely enough room for him to maneuver his truck. I hope to never need my truck towed again, but if I do I hope it's Bryan with California Towing doing it.
My Tesla went berserk, crazy computer total malfunction. Plus it locked up all 4 wheels, couldn't move it from the garage. Tesla sent Calif Towing and Transport and the driver, Bryan was amazing. He. explained the problem and told me what he needed to do. He's professional manner and obvious knowledge of the problem put me at ease. I rode with him to the Chico Service Center and got a loaner car. Even his driving was outstanding. Polite, courteous and a very safe driver. We needed our 5th wheel and tow vehicle pulled off of Highway 299. This company is so professional! the driver, Austin was the most professional and nicest guy you could ever have come and help under a stressful situation. Many drivers in this profession could very easily develop a haughty "know it all" attitude but Austin allowed us to work with him to help with a "not so ordinary" situation. I would highly recommend this company for any and all towing needs!! I guarantee you that any negative feedback are from people that would have been hard to please under any circumstances!!!!!
I was on a 16 hour road trip with truck, camper and cargo trailer when I had engine trouble 7 hours from home, and over the state line. The receptionist at California towing was very friendly and helpful, talking to the owner and negotiating a transport home for me the next morning. The quote seemed reasonable. The driver was patient and helpful as we loaded my 35.5ft of rig and kind enough to drop me off to pick up a rental car, though I was welcome to ride with him. He was also great with a somewhat complicated residential delivery. I am most appreciative!
Greg is a wonderful tow truck driver! I am so impressed with his maneuvering of the tow truck truck and trailer on such small winding roads. He even stopped and did a safety check on his connections. Friendly, professional and I felt I was in good hands
Wonderful costumer service and quick service overall! Called as we frantically rolled into town with a flat tire and needed a tow quickly to a nearby tire store. Bryan arrived within 15 mins, and called when he was 10 minutes away. He was professional and understanding throughout, even getting the car hooked up as quickly as possible so we could get to the tire store, and went out of his way to make sure the car was carefully loaded and unloaded. I had my truck towed today. It was a misunderstanding on my part. They guys were very professional and their service was great considering I was at fault. Everyone wants to blame the tow company when they they get towed, but at the end of the day, I parked on private property. At least these guys were nice. Plus I got a hat out of the deal!

California Towing takes pride in their trucks, and their work, which leads me to believe they will always take pride in serving their customers with only the best! Just had a terrible experience with this company. We needed a tow and had our insurance company call for a tow truck. They gave us the tow company's number and I confirmed that a tow truck was on its way. I decided to Google their location and they literally were 6 minutes away. After waiting 20+ minutes, I decided to call back and see what was up. They told me they had issues with the truck, but now it's on its way. Another 10 or so minutes, and sure enough they showed up. I told the driver the address where the truck was to be delivered and he said that he had it and I gave him my phone number. Earlier, I had update the insurance company with the drop location and they said that they updated the tow company, so I thought everything was OK. I proceeded to take my wife to her work and then returned to the site where I expected the vehicle to be dropped, but NO, my truck was not there at the mechanics. Called them back again, and they said that they delivered to the first address and said if I wanted it moved again, I was going to have to call the insurance company again and have them generate a new dispatch. Really? Then, I get a call from my wife and she had called the tow company and they just hung up on her. So, I go to get my truck from the location it was NOT supposed to be delivered only to find the hazard lights were still on. Seriously? I tried to start the truck and find that I now have a dead battery! Arrange for a jump and finally got the truck to the mechanic. Please be aware of this company. This is probably the worst customer service that I have experienced in a long time.
