My old Suzuki GS450 needed a set of ignition coils and I had looked online, called around. I realize I want the stock Suzuki ignition coils because original parts work best. I couldn't afford new and wasn't sure if online was best for these parts. I called Wayne at Cycle Salvage and he knew the exact ones I needed and said that he had a set a 2) of the original Suzuki coils and quoted me a very good price. He told me they were taken off a running motorcycle and passed the test;I was a bit worried about buying used electrical parts because there's no guarantee on electrical parts in every place I've ever dealt with,so I was taking Wayne 'at his word' when he told me the coils were good. I chose to purchase them and they were in the mail to me That Day Arrived the next day USPS;I installed them and they made my bike run great !! I appreciate the owner's knowledge and honesty. Edit: it was 7 months since I left this review. I have called and calmly tried reaching out to Wayne, but he doesn't call back !? I did finally reach him twice out of the 6 times:about once every month or so. I called to get parts and he had a very rude tone in his voice both times, like he just couldn't wait to get me off the phone.. The woman working there said he's very busy, but I was "very busy" doing my best to reach him.. Like I wasn't worth bothering with ??! I have been very patient during my series of 'call efforts' to get answers if he has parts for my bike, which I'm completely restoring. I would much rather purchase from 'Brick and Mortar' businesses, rather than online.. I called today and finally addressed the 'hurry me up off the phone' attitude Wayne had towards me when I spoke with the woman who answers the phone for Wayne. I described how being spoken to like that was disrespectful and I didn't want that;I'm trying to do business with them, for God's sake ! I was hoping she would have apologized to me and then speak w/ Wayne and he could rectify his attitude towards me;she just said what she always says, 'he's a busy guy'.. and I'm Not?!! Like I wasn't worth their effort !! Well ?! Hire somebody else that's Nice and cares about customers and wants to Help them. You call me back on the phone w/ answers:fix the problem ! I'm completely fed-up with that attitude. I'll need to pay the extra shipping and purchase online.

Been calling most of the day and the phone is either off the hook or something because it just goes to busy signal and then hangs up very disappointing

Always helpful and goes as far as suggesting alternates and options that may work if he doesn't have exactly what you're after. Thanks to Wayne and his shop I and several friends have been able to revive and keep a variety of old bikes running and riding. Definitely a shop worth visiting and revisiting!

Recently started visiting Cycle Salvage after acquiring a Honda CT90 and CT 110. Wayne has been super helpful with parts and advice. Very knowledgeable and friendly, and readily willing to search his stock for used parts.

Wayne is amazing. He always listens and helps you figure out what's needed. If he doesn't have it, he'll help you find it. If you ride, you will benefit from talking with Wayne.

I had a really disappointing experience with Cycle Salvage in Redding. The customer service was incredibly rude from the start. The person on the phone couldn’t hear us clearly and made no effort to fix the issue. When we asked about a part—rearsets—he didn’t even know what they were, which was shocking considering he claimed they’ve been in business for over 40 years. You’d think with that much experience, they’d at least know basic motorcycle terminology. Instead of helping, he got impatient and abruptly ended the call. There was no professionalism, no willingness to help, and definitely no sign of customer appreciation. It felt like we were bothering them just by calling. I won’t be doing business here again, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for reliable parts or respectful service. Plenty of better options out there with knowledgeable staff and better attitudes.

A godsend. Cycle Salvage has come through for me so many times with my parts needs for 20+ years. They don’t have everything all the time. Nobody does so chill. But so often are the only ones who have particular items I need. Example: 02 Yamaha wr426 swing arm washer spacer. No longer available oem. Alternative is to by a whole bearing kit for $60+ Wayne cross referenced the part for me and found one on a machine he had in the back. Saved me a lot of money and he did it with a smile. Cant beat that.

Place is amazing. Wayne is great guy and always helpful. Last visit he was able to tear into a spare lt80 and get me a tiny starter gear key for the keyway on crankshaft to get my kids quad going that day.

This was my experience only: I put down $1,000 cash on a $2,000 Quad. The little chunky dude showed me the quad his old-timer guy was repairing it. Couple of worm out front axles it needed a battery. They called me after the repairs so I go and get it. Just so we're all clear I saw this quad up on a lift being repaired and when I picked it up. What I didn't realize untill I was unloading the quad at home was the front mounted wench had been removed. Totally my bad for not catching it when I picked it up. I know I got got on a $400 wench but when I went back and calmly explained my dismay The little chunky dude explained there was never a wench on it knowing full well there was. And I just can't prove it. That's my experience with these people.

Wayne has a ton of knowledge about motorcycles, and is always ready to share it. Great stock and fair prices for older motorcycle parts.

Not a cycle story, but a good local business story. We had a cable break on our truck seat. Called around and part was discontinued. Ended up at Cycle Salvage to see if they could help. Owner, Wayne was very helpful and gave my husband a cable he thought might work. My husband was able to McGuyver it and the seat in the truck works again. In our busy “not my problem” world, Wayne was a true local business that took the time to help. Thanks again.

Wayne is so knowledgeable and friendly! I spent over an hour in the store because I had my two sons ages 5 & 8 with me that were so excited. He showed us everything and not once did he lose patience with us. He is genuine, honest and cares for this community. Thank you and you will have my business as well as highly recommended to anyone we know!

Stopped by to see if they might have parts for my wife's 88 Honda Shadow VT800C. She'd wrecked hitting a deer.. Wayne's and his wife were extremely helpful and friendly. Unbelievably he had just got in a complete bike . Great people. Very friendly and helpful. Most definitely will be a patron from here on out. Thank you.

Kid in a candy store. Huge selection of vintage to new parts available at competitive prices. Wayne is a great guy that has always been great to me when I'm picking his brain for parts and information. 9/10 Cycle Salvage has what I'm in need of, and if not they'll find it for me. I always leave happy, and treated with respect.
