If you like being called an asshole as you walk out of a place.(when I was polite, honest, and communicating in a form anyone could understand) This is the place for you! Today I was denied entry for less than 8lbs of aluminum cans. I walked in as I always did and was doing what I always did just to be questioned. The people in the cars were busy filling the bins and by the time the employee got to me I was already binned and ready to be weighed. Mind you I have been walking for over a year doing this without being corrected, without a sign to tell us not to. The only sign I saw was not to use bins before this line. Do not wait in line for your turn. I get a cane-ridden manager that brags about being there for 21 years. His analogy was if we were in Safeway would I let someone cut in line, my answer was "If they have 1 carton of milk and I have a whole cart filled of things of course I'm going to let them through. He looked at me as if I was speaking Japanese to him. Even the ladies at the front desk tried to explain to him my weekly routine. The manager didn't even give them a chance. The manager acts like a Dictator. When I do this EVERY WEEK! Northstate needs better workers, and managers but the front desk ladies are amazing! This is why when the manager called me names I went Directly to the owner instead of confronting him. I have sent the owner the email and I hope to change my 1 star to a better rating. Terrible Experience I even left my recycling for a homeless to have.

I went in on 5/3/24 with a 16 x 8 x 6 ft tall trailer with 3/4 of the trailer full with steel and gal 14 gauge tube was in a hurry so I didn’t check my receipts for weight while leaving cause I was in a rush and they are only paying me 9.90 cents for approximately 3 to 4 tons of tin/iron they also don’t want to solve the problem. The manager admitted that there was more in the trailer then what they say. So they are basically admitting to being thief’s.

My mom goes down to North State and sells her aluminum cans. She gets a very good price she has even received $90 from North State. I am so thankful for these people because I work at a transfer station as a sorter and I see everybody’s recycling. These guys are doing a huge favor for us, a lot of this scrap does not go to the landfill. These guys are doing a wonderful service for us and should be thanks gratefully of course prices are going to fluctuate they go up and down all the time. So people should be grateful that they even get anything

The staff is nice! A man cut in front of me and one of the people in the office say him on camera and actually came out and said something to him about it. And for the heat, the poor guys working the machines were still pleasant! Best prices also

Customer service in the office is good, but the yard employees are rude. They nearly ripped the stakesides off my dump trailer with their grapple because they thought I was "taking too long" to get a stuck load out of the trailer. They don't do a good job keeping the driving lane clear as I picked up 2 flat tires from screws and bolts while there. Their price schedule is lousy too. Cost me more in gas to haul in 800 lbs than I got for the scrap. I'm going to find somewhere else for scrap.

It was a long line, but it was the only recycling place open and it was worth the wait! Everyone there was super helpful. Normally when I go to the jolly green the guy usually hides in his little building and waits for you to finish, but not this place I had help from 2 people, they helped me unload and get it done. Great service!! And good pay too! Will be back!

Im dissatisfied I went in with bulk items that should have pulled me at least 20 bucks at the least , but they jip me on the wieght of the items , and give me less that I deserved. Don't go with these guys they will screw you .

Super shady recycler! Drove down from Shasta lake city area with Three 55 gallon bags of crushed cans , does not equal 36 pounds. Same bags were 96 pounds last time! I’ll go somewhere else . Do you research. Total scam. They pay more then everyone else but they scam your weight! 👎🏽😤

Today I went to Northstate Recycling to redeem both aluminum cans and #1 plastic bottles as a fund raiser for a non-profit organization to which I belong. We had collected a number of both.....in fact over 140 lbs of cans and about the same of bottles. The attendant checked us out and gave me the receipt to take into the office to be paid. Our total pay-out was just over $88. Knowing that aluminum cans are currently over $1.60 per pound I questioned the clerk as to why we received so little. I was then (after the fact) informed that since we had more than 100 pounds of cans we were paid scrap metal prices....... 20 cents per pound! According to the clerk this is required by state legislation. That does sound like something our state legislators would do, but I am quite sure that the attendant who checked us out was aware of that fact. I would think that in an honest business the attendant would inform the customer of this fact and give them the opportunity to turn in less than 100 pounds. Our total on just 100 pounds of aluminum cans would have been $160.00, as opposed to the $29 we actually received for the whole 145 pounds. I would have been better off to have given 40 pounds of cans to the person in line behind me......I'd have walked away with more money for our organization. In fact, my husband was with me and all the attendant would have had to do is to inform us of the rule and we could have divided our cans in half and each received payments. I am amazed that a business that has been in Redding for such a long time is so obviously dishonest in their dealings with the public. I don't know if the policy is displayed for the public to see, but if it is I can say it is not prominently displayed. Beware of the business practices of this company. If they can cheat you, they will.

I do believe this company is on its way out You reap what you sow ,i googled number 2 copper Scrap Average price $2 a pound, this company only gives $1.05, 4 300 pounds of copper , Not to mention a couple 400 pounds of brass , Only 15 cents a pound Better off to throw in the garbage 😯.Should've asked 1st. Thay used to be very fair to deal with. that's why I did not ask, Sacramento pays $1.98 a pound. I will talk to our local assemblyman to see if these companies can start posting their prices like gas stations.. Real crooks as far as I'm concerned. Don't go there. They were the company that was fine for her to 400,000.00 I still a for 400, pounds of number 2 copper, That I'll bring to Sacramento.

Had to load all our cans back up because we were over a 100 pounds. I don't know why they couldn't weigh the cans to 100 pounds and give us the rest back. Such a waste of time..

Service was always pretty good in past...ive driven down there twice to either find them just closing at 4pm or like today Sat Dec 30th to find closed at 11:15 with no notice on answering machine or gate...Google states it's open today till 1pm....What the heck is going on?! Suck a waste of my time and gas...I shud just throw my cans in garbage for all this wasted time
