This place is robbing customers. If you bring in more than 100 pounds of aluminum cans they will make you go back home and unload half or they will pay you 25 cents a pound. Once you start unloading you are not allowed to stop. Bunch of idiots running this place.
You have to watch this pkace reeeel close! I took a trailer load of scrap, a lot of which was some heavy solid stuff. Broken bench vices, sledge hammer heads, a bunch of heavy chain...blah bkah blah. There was a few...maybe two small sheet metal covers, 2x2 maybe. They paid as if the whole load was sheet metal! I caught this a few weeks after the fact, & thats too late. Probably wouldnt do any good to gripe. I think they are crooks. Check your tickets before you dump your load. If ida known, ida only unloaded them sheet metal pieces, and gone somewhere else!
This place was better than expected. Several people who worked there asked if I needed help, one directed traffic immediately when it got cluttered in the parking lot, and it was surprisingly clean for a recycling center. Rates were good, good customer service, quick even with lots of people there. Overall, happily surprised with a positive experience.
Was needed treated well for my wife ran my foot over.Theilr lurker saved my wife forward causing my wife to run over my heel.I was knocked down the employees did not care.Be careful while you are there not safe
Sometimes they can be busy, so if you've come to recycle cans, plastic or glass make sure you've separated them beforehand.
Once you get to the head of the line, you fill cans into plastic garbage cans and glass into plastic bins.
My boyfriend brought in copper tubing #1 on 6/11 and scrap prices were 3.25 to 3.55 and was only paid $2.00 and there should have been a weight of at least 12 bounds and was told only 8 and paid for 8 only ...Can't see scale when it's being weighed or weight on the scale ..that should be allowed...Receipt shows it only paid $2 for #1 copper tubing ..
It was an amazing experience. I pulled up and jumped out of my car to assist an elderly lady get a heavy piece of steel out of her car then quickly jumped back in line and was greeted by friendly fellows guilding me where to go. Then as my recyclables were pre sorted a couple fellows actually helped me fill their cans and the gentleman printing the ticket went over it with me satisfying any questions I had. Friendly courteous and professional I pulled my car around and went back into the cashier area. A fair for industry prices I made 32.00 dollars and was paid in cash. The cashier was also professional and friendly. I would recommend them esp. fair for bottles and cans recycling aka crv.
So I'm here visiting my dad for a few weeks helping clean up his lazy hoarding rear end and had 2-3 truckload of cans/bottles. I'm giving 5 stars because they are quick, efficient and the yard guys were pretty cool. I've lived in Maine for the last 20 yrs and recycling here in California just blows my mind (well alot of other stuff too). The rules and regulations on this are insane. Although I don't think it's the business that wants to have to implement them, I feel like it's the dishonest thieves that have ruined such a simple thing as recycling. Great place though, I'll definitely go back and you should too!
Filled a 40 yard bin literally using a large backhoe to smash load down to the point the sides were bowing out leaving very little empty space mostly heavy iron engine blocks etc. Expected full load to top is 20k lbs. Kicker is they pickup load and you are to trust final weight, even truck struggled with this pickup. They're final weight claim came in at 15k.. wonder how many people get ripped off from this already underpaying scrap price company. Only thing they're fair on is crv cause they have to be at the moment they pay .40 cent for clean aluminum and .15 for dirty, thats dirty. Go to sac get .60-.79 cents for dirty 1.20-1.79 for clean. This pile of scrap company should be audited. New name same family, Shorts been shorting people for years.
Just left North State Recycling, brought in a tall kitchen garbage can full of CRUSHED CANS. They said it was only 8. 6 pounds @ $1.70 per pound and gave me $14.62. I took a bag with half that much to Bigfoot Recycling and got double. Hopefully Bigfoot reopens soon because my friend has a truckload of cans to Recycle and I won't let him get ripped off at North State Recycling !!!!!! I didn't ask to speak to a manager, I expressed my concerns to the cashier who should have directed me to a manager ! When I said it didn't seem right. I went in on 5/3/24 with a 16 x 8 x 6 ft tall trailer with 3/4 of the trailer full with steel and gal 14 gauge tube was in a hurry so I didn’t check my receipts for weight while leaving cause I was in a rush and they are only paying me 9.90 cents for approximately 3 to 4 tons of tin/iron they also don’t want to solve the problem. The manager admitted that there was more in the trailer then what they say. So they are basically admitting to being thief’s.
My mom goes down to North State and sells her aluminum cans. She gets a very good price she has even received $90 from North State. I am so thankful for these people because I work at a transfer station as a sorter and I see everybody’s recycling. These guys are doing a huge favor for us, a lot of this scrap does not go to the landfill. These guys are doing a wonderful service for us and should be thanks gratefully of course prices are going to fluctuate they go up and down all the time. So people should be grateful that they even get anything
1st time there. Was impressed with their set up and how quickly I got through. However, I was NOT impressed with the fact they give a check for any mount over $40.
Customer service in the office is good, but the yard employees are rude. They nearly ripped the stakesides off my dump trailer with their grapple because they thought I was "taking too long" to get a stuck load out of the trailer. They don't do a good job keeping the driving lane clear as I picked up 2 flat tires from screws and bolts while there. Their price schedule is lousy too. Cost me more in gas to haul in 800 lbs than I got for the scrap. I'm going to find somewhere else for scrap.
The staff is nice! A man cut in front of me and one of the people in the office say him on camera and actually came out and said something to him about it. And for the heat, the poor guys working the machines were still pleasant! Best prices also
It was a long line, but it was the only recycling place open and it was worth the wait! Everyone there was super helpful. Normally when I go to the jolly green the guy usually hides in his little building and waits for you to finish, but not this place I had help from 2 people, they helped me unload and get it done. Great service!! And good pay too! Will be back!
