Speed of Light Towing is completely unreasonable. They charged me $580 for less than 20 minutes of towing and showed no care for the situation. Their excuse was that they “thought my car was a rental” — which it wasn’t. On top of that, they set outrageous prices in a low-income area, making it nearly impossible for people to get their cars back. When I tried to explain that we were on our way to a funeral, Amanda at the front desk showed no empathy or understanding. This place is all about money, not people.
I highly recommend Speed of Light Towing.. I had to have abandoned vehicles and trailers towed off private property this week and they went above and beyond to help me . They kept in constant contact, answered all my questions without hesitation, showed up when they said they would and went the extra mile getting some of these vehicles loaded onto their immaculate tow truck . Amanda her husband , and Angel were so easy to communicate with. They will definitely be the company I call and refer any time a tow is needed . I would give 100 ⭐ i Donna Herbert

**Horrible Experience - Beware of Predatory Towing!**
I had a terrible experience at the Ace store recently. My 90-year-old mother and I visited the store, and she wanted some caramel popcorn. After we left through the back door, we returned about 40 minutes later—taking our time as my mother walks slowly—only to find that our car had been towed!
It’s clear that Ace Hardware and the towing company are working together to scam customers. The towing fee was an outrageous $700 to retrieve the car on a Sunday or $500 if I waited until Monday. This is for a towing company that's just 3 blocks away!
What’s even more frustrating is that the owner of this Ace location also owns three other Ace stores in Watsonville. He promotes his stores at the church where he is a parishioner—yet, this is how he treats his customers? It’s shameful.
To make matters worse, I noticed other customers in even worse situations—this seems to be a common practice. I’ve lost all trust in this Ace location and the owner’s other stores, and I’ll be taking my business elsewhere from now on.
Angel is great! Very careful with my Tesla, very knowledgeable. Willing to tow me from Aptos to Fremont service center for my convenience. He made getting a flat tire less painful
Speed of Light is incredible! Everyone treated me with kindness and efficiency. They are super knowledgeable, trustworthy, and fair! Cannot recommend them enough.
