Smitty's Towing will quote you one price and then try and double it when they show up for the tow. They left me in a complete bind after I waited 2 hours for them. Maybe they shouldn't quote prices if they are not going to stick to it. They should also train their phone staff a little better to understand what is really going on. As a business owner myself, I have to say that there are some companies that care, and there are others that don't. Smitty's Towing is obviously the latter. I would not recommend this company unless they were your last option.
Awful business practice, stealing people cars they know can't afford to get them out of there impound absolutely deplorably. They have no sympathy, they don't care all they want is your money. They will screw you over.
Lance is a true professional. He showed up to change a blown out tire on my class B RV, which turned out to be more of a project. He communicated all the solutions with confidence and respect. Lance was there when he said he would be or made sure someone was communicating with me, if there were changes. Excellent Job Smitty’s….. I truly felt like someone had my back!!!
The first driver was nice but the people in the office were kind of disorganized. They also didn’t deliver my car to the dealership until a day later. I feel like for what I paid they should have been a bit more prompt and courteous. The price was guaranteed at least, and reasonable compared to others.
I called AAA after I got a flat tire. The tow service that came out was Smittys. The driver called to confirm my safety and my location for service. The truck arrived at the time promised and the young man was great at what he did, excellent customer service. I have used Smittys in the past with the same great service and professionalism. I would recommend Smittys to anyone needing roadside assistance.

Dan was amazing! We locked our keys in our trunk and he went above and beyond to make sure we got our keys and helped us dig through the trunk until we found them! Thanks for going the extra mile Dan!
The driver had to get my all wheel drive vehicle out of a tough spot. When I got my car back there was a new scuff on the driver side door , but I’m not complaining.

My battery died. I received excellent service from Smitty’s. Have used them in the past. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because it took them almost 2 hours for them to finally arrive and get me started.
I called and was given a quote and a time they would arrive. They arrived 10 minutes early and the driver was friendly, helpful, and very quick. The only “problem”, and I don’t consider it a negative problem, is that the driver didn’t know if they had given me a quote. Would definitely use again!
we were stranded alongside hyway 101 in our motorhome, our Good Sam roadside assistance could not or would not help. I called Smitty's, they sent out the right rig for the job, and towed us safely off the hyway, to a repair shop. The driver was very helpful, understanding, and a nice person. I would use and recommend Smitty's again

Service was quite professional and friendly. Pedro went above and beyond his required duties to help me drop my car safely after hours and get me to lodging for the night. I was driving my old sports car from daughter’s place in LA area to my home in Oregon. I am somewhat elderly and I was really disoriented when it died on the highway. Pedro’s help and attitude got me back on track. I would recommend Smitty’s Towing.

I have AAA. And it's an old car. It's had problems over the years. They always send Walter. He's such a nice guy! He always has all the tools he needs to do the job properly. The last time he was here ~ he took the time to clean the dust and cobwebs off the spare tire to make it look nice. And he always has time for a little chit chat with a lonely old woman who talks to chickens all day ~ about chickens of course! The work is always done quickly and professionally.
Smitty's towing is a excellent towing company. My grandsons car broke down at night in los alamos. I was so scared something bad might happen to him since there is so much crime. His parents and I drove on the 101 about 20 miles from home. We called smitty's and they came with 25 minutes. And I had them tow his car to the dealership the next morning. Thank you smitty's for being the professionals you are. Highly recommend.
I had an employee come change my tire for me. He offered to check my other tires bolts and pressure. Later that day when driving with my baby in the back two of my lug nuts came off! I've never had an issue with my lug nuts coming lose. Very upset will not be using them again
Truly an awful experience! Tow truck driver scratched up my car with his clipboard sliding off my hood and scratching my front headlight, then saying "oh, the scratch was already there." Tried to charge me an extra $35.00 to go 7 blocks to my house. The driver was very rude, and next time I will let my insurance company know that I will not be using Smitty's towing, and to find me another company should I need tow service in the future.
Very very helpful.... Gentleman was very nice. Me and my husband had a wonderful experience even though we were picking up our stolen vehicle that was found they really made it stress free to get it back.
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! Never again will I use them to tow. RUDE, OVERCHARGED ME WHAT I WAS QUOTED AND DRIVER HAD A BAD TEMPER. Here is what happened.
I called for a tow and the lady on the phone tolled me it would be $90 to tow from Nipomo to Santa Maria (8 miles in total). More than I wanted but I was okay with it.
When we arrive, the car gets unloaded and the driver walks up to me BUT he starts telling me different things. First he says "so the original price was $85" (keep in mind the lady on the phone said $90). Then he goes on to say that the extra mileage was an extra $10! WHAT EXTRA MILEAGE! We dropped the car off EXACTLY where I told the lady on the phone, 8 miles in total. So now I'm paying an extra $10 for no reason and when i told the driver about it, he was super rude and started to yell. So I had no choice and paid!
I called the lady back at the "office" and as soon as I told her, she put me on hold, then she picks the phone back up within 5 min and takes my information down again for some reason. Says she's going to send it to the "main office". What main office if I was calling the "main office" total bullshit if you ask me. I'll NEVER use this company again.
