Awesome service! Prices are a little high, but this isn’t a self service yard and they help you load the parts on your truck. I absolutely pilfered a crown vic they had and got a lot of really good parts. Super helpful folk! 100% recommended. Check their website inventory, it seems accurate.
The people working outside are ok , but i would rather not come here at all if it means dealing with the people in the checkout office. They are rude and treat you like you are garbage .Especially the old man. Maybe its retirement time...

They are closed for lunch between 12pm and 1.30pm, so if you're planning to come between those hours bring a book or something for the wait.
Clean and organized operation. We have bought several units from A1 over the years. They had a low mileage engine pulled and ready to install. It had 116k miles on it and it was easy to install. The guys loaded the motor up for us. We were able to install it with no issues. Now our little Scion is running again! Thank you!!!
Mike is a very thoughtful, generous guy who stopped to help us when he saw us broke-down on the side of the road. He was on his way home for the day and took the time to stop and help us. He's doing a great job carrying on the traditions of this fantastic, locally owned, family business.
These guys are the best. I took an old engine in to have it scrapped and 24 hours later, I realized that I needed a part off of it. They had already moved it to the top of a big pile of other steel pipe and stuff and I didn't know where to find it. The young man working there knew right where it was and he got a forklift, climbed up with a chain and hooked it on the engine to get it down, carefully. Not only that, they moved the engine into the shade and held it up with the fork lift so that I could remove the much needed part! When I was leaving, I asked, " How much do I owe for that?". He said, "Nothing, don't worry about it!" Truly a rare thing, super kind and more than accommodating people!
I like it there and am finna go back today. [I just do CRV, mind you.] Sometimes, I wonder if I am getting the correct price, but in my case it is just some plastic and aluminum creating clutter in my home and disrupting my feng shui. I also happen to live in San Miguel and see it as gas $$. It is not out of my way, and I actually like it there. Staff always nice.
Have always had a good experience with this place. My only problem is that they close for lunch, but do not put that information on their website. We are having to wait for a half hour to get in and other people are getting in front of us and other people that have been waiting. It would have been good to know when to get here to avoid this situation.
Best place to go in the north county!! A great spot to find a part for a vehicle and/or take in your scrap metal and CRV recycling. Family owned and operated with quality customer service and care.
Pretty much the only place in north county to redeem aluminum cans and plastic bottles any more. Glad they are there to help out. Just wish the driveway and parking are were bigger.
I had taken in some plastic aluminum and glass, everyone there was very helpful. GREAT place to go if u need auto parts or to turn cans in or whatever. Would not go to any other place....
Look, its a recycling place. I dont expect anything special, but this place fell short of my expectations. People are helpful, but the vibe is not great. When I asked questions it felt like I was bothering them. I gave them 3 stars because all-in-all I got my recycling handled, but I will be using a different recycling place moving forward.
Long wait by no fault of their own but once you get in the front it goes swiftly. Recommend grabbing coffee & a breakfast burrito then head over & I went a little after opening
Wow Google. I was at Paso auto salvage rite across the freeway. But let me tell you u should let more folks know about it. Huge amount of vehicle's old and new and alot cheaper that A-1
I needed two doors for a Toyota Highlander. After seeing what I needed on their website, I gave them a call. Carl personally went out to check the condition, took pictures, and texted them to me, pointing out some minor defects. Since I had to drive about 3 hours to get there, Carl graciously had them removed from the vehicle in advance and held them until I arrived. I was surprised that the door condition was much better than they looked in the pictures. I had also asked them to preserve the wiring which they did. On top of everything, the price was more than fair. When I installed the doors on my vehicle they operated like factory new. This is, by far, the best auto salvage yard experience I've ever had. Carl is first class and will be my first choice the next time I need parts...I know it will be well worth the 3 hour drive!
NOT a self serve yard! They have to walk out to the vehicle with you like you're a thief or something. Prices are ridiculous! Can get the parts I needed on Ebay for about half of what these people are charging! Go directly across the highway. They are self serve and way more reasonable!
I initially walking to this place really excited after seeing so many vehicles with pieces parts and shells and things I was looking for to possibly build a car. However when I enter the door both of the men standing at the front counter continued their conversation and talk for about 2 minutes before even looking at me or acknowledging me. I've even greeted them with "hello, how are you doing," and they just looked at me with blank stares. I continued on to say "hey I was wondering if you had anything to sell on the lot or a vehicle that we could put together?" They both really stared silently at me after looking at me as if I did something by interrupting their conversation. Finally one of the men said they don't sell cars not even offering to walk around and see if there's a vehicle I could rebuild. This customer service is probably the worst I've experienced at any Auto Salvage shop. I wouldn't take your money anywhere near these guys because they don't even deserve your money. They act as if it's an inconvenience for you to ask for their assistance. Hope this is helpful for any regular folks that are trying to go in and look for a salvaged vehicle. If I could give less stars I would. Just overall a unpleasant experience.
These guys have a very busy wrecking yard. A-1 has smart staff and always give me friendly service. This is a great place to find parts; think they have over 1000 cars/trucks. I found a color matching fender for my Dodge pickup and saved $300 over a new one. I really think they do a great job and have a great selection of parts.
Worst wrecking yard around. Not many parts and really Bad service the head guy is nice and knows a lot but the other guy is always rude. And they have a minimum purchase now that's like 25$ so it's reduiculous. The one across the highway is much better. Has way more parts and you can actually walk around to look.
