I had been dealing with letters and phone calls from the IRS since 2020, and it has been quite a frustrating experience as each quarterly payment had been sent and deposited. I finally decided to schedule an appointment with them to speak in person rather than over the phone. The first available one was six weeks out and 50 miles away. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
Today was the day of the appointment, and I had the privilege of working with Ryan Girley. From the moment we started, it was clear that he knew exactly what needed to be done to help me resolve my issues. His expertise and guidance were invaluable, and he made the entire process much smoother and less daunting.

Ryan Girley renewed my hope in humanity. We recently paid a visit to the IRS office in Carpinteria to obtain a non-filing letter. We got lucky and Ryan was the agent who assisted us. My mom is 74 years old and has dementia. Over the last few months, I have had to take over all the logistical elements of her life. Ryan treated my mom with dignity. He was patient, compassionate, understanding, kind, and offered his professional advice about obtaining form 2484 so that I could designate myself as my mom's representative in these matters, which I really appreciated because you don't know what you don't know and Ryan making this suggestion will really help me out. I hope he gets a big fat raise $$$ at his next review. People can take a lesson from Ryan on how to treat people with respect and compassion. If you read this, Ryan, God bless you and keep being you!

I had a very pleasant experience. Mr. Girley was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I drove from Los Angeles and plan to return to this location, if necessary, in the future rather than going to another office. This office deserves five stars and pay raises. This is a sincere review for my experience on 11/19/2021.
Disregard the outdated negative reviews. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and efficient. The office also has a nice atmosphere, and pleasant lighting. This is not what I expected from a government office. I was pleasantly surprised.
They were not helpful at all all I wanted is to request a verification that they received my tax return for 2019 and verification that I forward my refund to estimated quarterly they said they could not help me
I thought the DMV was bad. The IRS, like the federal government in general, is now a shell of its former self. I'm so glad we cut billionaires' taxes instead of giving everyone a decent quality of life or basic public services. The people in this office clearly hate their jobs and are stuck in a nonsensical and outdated bureaucracy. The man I spoke to for help seemed drunk, red-faced and slurring his words after a two-cocktail lunch. No help at all. What an embarrassing fraud and waste of tax money.
The people working in this office should release their paycheck comes from the taxpayers they just might work a little. They are not helpful nor they like to work. I will have my lawyer who is my friend write a letter & make a complaint. There should be a lawsuit against these offices. It’s our tax money that is paying their salary they should acutely try to help the people. It’s sad what this country has turned into. The people who work for government & the law enforcement are trained to be rebellious to the civilians. I remember in the 80s & 90s cops were so friendly & helpful. Things have changed God help us all.
If you have to go to the IRS, this is the office to visit. Appointments within a week and agents with a positive and helpful attitude. Been here twice, different agents, great help! Worth the drive. I came all the way from Temecula, over 200 miles away. Previously went to Laguna Niguel, not so good.
I tried calling before stopping in. Unfortunately no one ever answers the phone. How is it that we can give billionaires tax cuts, then have to cut the budget resulting in lousy government service?
I got no help at all even though there was no other person there. There was this one lady that straight up told me "i can do what you need but we take appointment only soo i'm sorry". And she gave me a peace of paper with the number to call to make an appointment. A total waste of time
