I scheduled a bulky item pickup almost 3 weeks ago. It wasn't picked up. We called and told them and they said the truck team said nothing was put out (we put it out the day before- it was a massive pile of trash, they couldn't have missed it). They rescheduled us for the next week. No pickup again. I've now been in a 3-day back and forth email negotiation with their reps. They insinuated I was being dishonest about scheduling the pickups. They did not pick up the trash until I cited the exact date and time of my phone calls, asked them to refer to their recorded customer service calls, and sent them time-stamped photo evidence of the trash being placed on the street well ahead of the original scheduled pickup (thank goodness the trash happened to be in the background of a photo I took 3 weeks ago). Discourteous and incompetent. Make sure you photograph your trash when you take it out, folks!!!

They claimed in a letter i hadnt paid my bill in 6 months and threatened to cut off my garbage service in 10 days but i had paid every month. lady on phone was totally unhelpful, refused to help in any way, told me to deal with accounting department and maybe one day they would fix the problem while replying rudely and combatively...meanwhile no garbage collection. finally had to leave message with supervisor who never replied. bad service. worst ever phone reps. [UPDATE] Supervisor got back to me in 24hours and seems to have fixed issue. Garbage was picked up. Not sure if billing issues fixed or not and was told to wait 10 days to find out.

I pay to have the trash can put behind the office building. Every Monday, the driver comes here and left the trash can in front of the building on the street. I have called the supervisor several times. They don't care about us. I would like supervisor to talk to this driver, because he doesn't have any, he is negligent, he doesn't do the job he has This is a commercial area and we have a parking lot behind the building. The manager can't be so negligent. Leaving the trash cans in front of the building because it blocks the way to the parking lot and we are closed on Monday. I work down the street and in the morning the drivers leave the facility and pull out onto the street without any care of cars on the road. Several times I have had to slam on my breaks to avoid hitting them. Today was the worst I really thought I was not going to be able to stop. They have no care in the world about anyone. I can imagine how they are in the neighborhoods. This is understandable

I don't know which company is worse, Recology or Coast to Coast Financial Solutions (CCFS)! I got a letter from CCFS asking to pay a closing garbage bill from a year ago, which I have always wanted to pay (spoke to a Carmen from Recology last year and got even emails exchanged with her as proof requesting the final invoice); however, I never received it. Because this Carmen did not do her work, I ended up with CCFS. The other members of Recology's customer service team don't even care that you want to pay, they won't help or listen either, they'll only blame the mail service. One word to describe customer service in both companies = mediocre. CCFS's customer service team won't help you either: I called several times but got disconnected yesterday, when I finally got to spoke to a Daniella; however, it did not help much. Be aware that you can never dispute their claims (you can try but you'll waste your time because you'll never receive any response back from them and they do not give an honest opportunity to dispute and provide proof), either you pay or they'll increase the unpaid amount. And I agree with other reviews on the fact that CCFS works with an obsolete system, they have no problem taking your credit card payment info over the phone but requesting a confirmation email/letter or evidence on the payment you have made is something they consider outrageous. They won't send anything that proves you have paid.

Drivers going over speed limits or not braking on speed bumps. Major issue! Otherwise great service.

For Construction debris good prices. It could be better but they know the best. $40 per cubic yard (May 2018).

They replaced the damaged dumpster in an exceptional time. The manager Greg returned my phone call right away. The office staff was very helpful also. I was very happy with the overall customer service. I give them 5 stars.

This was my first time visiting the Recology facility. I had to drop off some leftover household paint to be recycled. I tried calling several paint stores since they should take old pain for recycling. But most of the paint stores I called told me that their recycle bins were full and that they wouldn't accept any more cans (which was very frustrating for me 😡). I called Home Depot (where I actually bought some of the paint) and they basically said, "we don't do paint recycling"). So I called Recology and they were happy to take my leftover paint. They accept up to 10 gallons per day. When I arrived, an attendant wheeled a cart over to my car and I unloaded my used cans. It was a quick and easy experience and now I know where to go in the future.

Spoke to Monique today about some confusion regarding bulk trash pickup policy. She did not take my questions well and started yelling at me and would not stop yelling at me for questioning her. It was a very stressful phone call and I felt shaken up afterwards.

Worst company ever!!!! They leave more trash on the ground than that’s in the can. The workers suck the most horrible customer service and the drivers are idiots

This review is for the Transfer Station that is a large building to dump construction, demolition, and plant/gardening waste. The Recology bulk pickup from your curb pickup does not take construction or demolition waste, for example if demolishing an old bathroom. So need to load it up and bring it here. First you queue in a line of cars and trucks for a worker to check what you have and charge you. For 1 cubic yard, it was $54. After you pay this person, you’re directed to a large building full of trash where you unload your stuff and try to get out as soon as you can. There’s a spray mister in there that keeps the dust down, but… Courteous and helpful staff.

Year in and year out, our garbage, yard waste, and recycling gets picked up. The bulky item pick up twice a year is very well done, as is the toxic item drop off at their transfer station. When little things go wrong and need to be dealt with, their employees are responsive and kind.

Whoever is involved in dumping the dumpsters on San Mateo Avenue in San Bruno is inconsiderate and disrespectful to the neighborhood. They come make an extremely loud metal clinking noise at 4-5am. I am aware that this is their job but the time that they do it is very inconsiderate to the hard working people that live in the area that are probably losing sleep because of this, I know I am.

Have been calling Recology to just put a number on the bin. I've called 3 times and left 1 voicemail. In spite of it, they drop a new (not literally new) bin, again without a number. I stay in an apartment and everyone's bin has their apartment number so that when each resident keeps their bin in, they know which is theirs. The representative states "you can paint the number on your own". I have to buy paint and a brush to do the job which they are supposed to do? Every time I'm promised that the number will be put on the bin and every time it's been a failure. My issue is not resolved yet. Will call again tomorrow. Worst customer service ever!

They missed picking up my garbage three times in 2 months. I had to call in every time to request a reschedule of pickup. After I filed several complaints every time they missed it, they are deliberately not picking up my carts now. They just drove by my house straightly (which is completely caught by our surveillance camera). Afterwards, they make up various kinds of excuse for not picking up, e.g. the front side of my cart is not EXACTLY touching the road (despite that I put the carts against the curb). What can I do here? Is hiring a lawyer to sue them the only way to get them DO THEIR JOB?!!!

The Recology online website service request does not work. I put in an online request 3 months ago to downsize our service from 64 gallons to 32 Gallons. I received a confirmation email back. 3 months later i still have the 64 gallon container and bills for 64 gallon containers. I called them, they acknowledged that I did put in the online service change request, but that I would still have to pay for the 64 gallon service.

I live in an apartment building and we have just one dumpster they do pick it up that is not the problem. The problem is that these two guys are being lazy and and leaving the dumpster in the street and the sidewalk this whole month. Our building has an area where the dumpster belongs it is not that far to put it back but they do not put it back. The crew before them did their job correctly this crew is lazy and I think they are too old for this , one of them has a bad leg and can’t walk good.From reading other people’s complaints you guys need better workers that are not lazy . Edit: They got new guys and now they do their job correctly.

Recology failed to pick up our trash can yesterday. I called them this morning and they said they’d take care of it. The day goes by, so I call them in the afternoon and they say it shows completed on their end (it was not), so they said they’ll speak with the supervisor and get it handled. Still not handled. Very frustrating.

Who thinks of reviewing their recology center? Generally only those who might have a gripe. On the other hand, I feel I owe it to them to comment on how easy and friendly they have been to work with, whether calling to schedule a bulk pickup or dropping off at the dump or recycling center. Have never had to wait more than a minute when calling, and always had a friendly person helping on the line. Not many places one can say that about.

I put the car oil next to the blue bin inside of our residential area (we don’t take the blue bins to the curbside), but the driver did not pick it up. I called to the recology and was told that I need to take it to the curbside for a free pick-up. I took it to the curbside, but some of our neighbors moved it, and the oil was not collected on that day. I called again to the recology and was told that the oil needs to be on the curbside next Wednesday when the trash is picked up, so I placed it there. The driver did not take it again on Wednesday. I called again, and was told that it needs to be placed by the blue bins inside the residential area, not on the curbside!!! I inquired about scheduling a free pick up, and I was told no, the pick up is not free. The lady told me she would put a note for the driver to collect on on Wednesday. The driver did not pick it up today. It is all very unprofessional for people at the recology give me contradictory information and don’t do their duties.

They forgot to pickup my recycling. Then they said they’ll come the next day. They didn’t come. Recycling can is overfilling. Terrible customer service.

Absolutely a terrible experience. After waiting in line for half an hour, we were told that they charge you per cubic yard not in weight! So the guy in front just guesses how many cubic feet in your vehicle you have! What a ridiculous concept! Not only that but they charge 3 times what other dumps charge. So what would normally cost you less than $40 anywhere else in the Bay Area, they charge you $135. Even though my client has to pay this bill, I think that everyone should know what a TOTAL RIPOFF this place is. The ONLY good thing about it is that it is open until 6 pm. I'm sure that is because the owner wants to remain open to make more money from the next poor sap that doesn't know that other recycling places charge ways less.

I just needed to schedule a bulky item pick up. The app didn’t provide the options I needed, also garbage, pun intended. I had to wait on hold for over an hour. It seems like a no brainier that they need the call back service for extended hold times. Peoples time is too precious to wait in hold for such a long time for something that has been paid for. No wonder people just dump items on random streets.

I think they were not so good at first, rather confused/confusing and had some sticker shock over the fees. However, the last year or so when I've had occasion to call and make requests, or ask extra or missed pick-ups they've been very good. And I've found the people on the phone have been very courteous, clear and understanding. I haven't really employed the web site much, so can't comment on that. Anyway, I think they've improved, which can't be said of a lot of companies/places.

Seriously can't understand why these people can't tell time and pick up garbage at 6am and after like they're legally supposed to. The main office says that they have GPS tracking so they can keep tracking of them and whatnot, but after their nearly half dozenth infraction since Jan.2nd 2016, where they've shown up as early as 4am to do trash pickup, I really don't think the main office really cares how their staff conducts themselves and how they are perceived by the public.Today they showed up before 6am and made monumental amounts of noise, waking me and family up from a deep sleep. So not cool.

Reference,: very poor response and not professional service address at 960 Roble av. Menlo Park They missed the collection of garbage and recycle last week Wednesday. This is four unit apartment at 960 Roble av. Menlo Park. We left messages on Thursday 4 times and talked in person on Friday but no response and no action and today, Monday,tne phone is busy all day long. Our garbage is badly overflowed after Thanksgiving and very unsanitary for the health. Some how I have to call them for the missed collection very often. Whenever new driver or substitute driver assignment, these things happened. They are very good in collecting the payment and rate increase and bad service and no response.
