Recology of the Coast has been serving my community since I moved here decades ago. And never once have I had a reason to complain. The weekly bin retrieval is seamless, and the men in the trucks are friendly and efficient. Residents have the option to leave unwanted items at the recycle yard on Palmetto, free of charge. And several times a year they offer free collections at areas convenient to our homes. Customer Service reps are always courteous and helpful and I feel respected and appreciated as a customer. They deserve more stars than they currently have. I hope I've helped in some small way, and thank them all for serving our Coastside with integrity and dependability.

Friday 5/24/24 at 847am they are closed right now when they are supposed to be open. The gate was unlocked but fully closed with a sign on the front saying sorry we’re closed. They’re supposed to be open at 730am today. My other experiences here have been absolutely great, so this was unfortunate. They even recycle styrofoam! But keeping business hours is the most basic of things for a brick and mortar business.

System has been down for months. What are customers supposed to do if they won’t even pick up their phones? *edit*: system is back up now but their outage cost me hundreds of dollars.

I had to change my review. The manager contacted me and we had a wonderful conversation. I really appreciated her taking the time to call me. She was able to provide me with the information I needed and I have to say, my opinion has changed. We are able to move forward with a productive relationship. Thank you Recology

I have called many times and nobody answers the phones. Also I have gone in person and the door is closed and they do not take care of the customers Rotten Customer Service.

I have lived on the coastside for 30+ years. Each and every time I’ve called the offices in Pacifica to ask questions, I am always given the best customer service ever. Clear concise information and always helpful to resolve any questions/issues I have.

Easy to get on the phone, and are helpful and friendly. The guys in the trucks are flexible too. Just getting the job done.

Cold customer service. You jump through their loops and never the other way around. Policy is policy and you have to bend over backwards for them. I work in tech and technology is intuitive for me yet their payment system is confusing and inefficient. Typical public service, if they were in the private sector they would've been out of business a long time ago.

Recology staff are always accessible and friendly. During the pandemic, they have not missed a pick-up, and they are bringing back additional services at the recycling yard as orders from the County and State are lifted due to improvements in COVID infection rates in San Mateo County. You can call to schedule a curbside pickup of bulky items at your home, drop off styrofoam at the Recology office M-F 8am to 1pm, and the recycling yard is now open Tues and Thurs from 8am to 12noon. Customers may enter the recycling yard one at a time and must wear a mask.

Bad! customer service, they like to bully customer because they think they are the only garbage company in pacifica so they makes their own rules.

Terrible service every time I call it's always the same excuse they are on the phone or busy then you leave a voice mail never get a call back when in reality I drive to the office to find out they dont care about calling you back they dont call you back they are more interested in talking with one another then calling the customer back, this office should fired and hire new workers to run the office since they play games with everyone.

Been having trouble receiving bills. Dont know if its just me or not. I havent been able to get though on their automated system. Was on the phone with a lady from another branch and there was nothing she could do. They didnt even answer for her. She left a call back number and its been an hour. No ones called back.

Told me they take mattresses for free on the phone, drive to the recycling center and get told they don't take foam mattresses. Is it too much to ask for them to let people know up front that information? There was no need for me to even be there had they just said "we take spring mattresses at the recycling center". Simple.

I will now have to rate your company one star. I live on a dead-end street which is very narrow. When I went to leave for work this morning I was blocked in by a trash truck. I understand that they have to stop so I waited nicely while he emptied the two bins he was working on an expected he would move as he saw that I was waiting. He then proceeded to go get two more trash cans which I then tried to be more patient and just wait. Then after about 5 minutes I started to get a little upset as I am now going to be late for work. I gave him a little toot as it was very early in the morning and I did not want to disturb my neighbors too much. He looked right at me move the truck 2 inches forward. He proceeded to tuck my neighbor's mirrors in, on his truck, which he should not be touching people's property without permission. He then proceeded to try me have to squeeze my new tundra through a space that would have caused me to hurt my truck. I then got frustrated as I was now running about 7 minutes late and told him he needed to move the truck. The Point I am making is not only am I there customer as I pay for my trash service. But I pay a mortgage to live in my house and I should never be prevented from leaving purposely. If that means your driver has to drive down to the end of my street to let me out that is what he should do. I am a customer and I was late for work this morning because of him. If I lose my job maybe he should too! I will also be giving Recology a call to report this, unacceptable! Update: I called the office and they basically tell me that I should gauge my time around the driver coming and leave early so I don't get stuck on my street. This is terrible customer service the driver should be told that he needs to move his truck to let the customer go by. Seriously what has happened to the World of customer service and valuing the people that you are serving. The truck driver is getting paid to do his job you made me late for work. Your supervisor will be getting an earful about both of my experiences! The woman that I talk to on the phone was nice but I still cannot believe that you are asking me to get up an extra 15 to 20 minutes earlier to leave my house so that your driver won't have to let me pass! This is a joke!

We have had great service from Recology. Anytime I've called, I've gotten right through and spoken to a person who has always been helpful and knowledgeable. Several years ago I had a very large tv for them to pick up on my twice yearly freebie pick up. I explained there was no way I could get it outside for them to pick up, they said they could work something out. The fellow came in my house and removed it for me. This was an older tv and was quite heavy but he took care of it for me without hesitation. I have found the drivers to be polite, helpful and very considerate.
