Just a warning, if you live in an apartment, you might be able to use this yard.
Drove in wanting to throw away an all wood bed frame and was told they don’t allow apartment residents to use the yard. They said I can junk it into the garbage trucks though so still got rid of it regardless.

Recology of the Coast Recycling Yard Hours for 2022 Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve...
"The recycling yard at 1046 Palmetto Ave will be open for our customers our regular hours (7am to 2pm) on 12/24/22 and 12/31/22."
Professional staff, normally very knowledgeable and courteous. Most of those customers complaining simply aren't familiar with the process or barge jnto the small yard without getting directions. After arrival, drive past gate carefully, and slowly stop and wait for directions from attendant. Explain briefly what you want to recycle. If attendant operating heavy machinery or advising client - just relax for a minute if you don’t know where to go and then courteously ask attendant about proper bin or process of where to properly place recyclables. Can be an enjoyable service of you are patient and respectful.
Went here looking to dispose of an old microwave and some small appliances. They also took the block styrofoam. Not many places take those.
I didn't know you could go straight to the driveway at first, but the people there are incredibly helpful. They instructed me where to park and unloaded the heavy items for me. They only have so many workers, so please be patient and they'll help you out.
The yard is very busy and understaffed. Very thankful for the staff there, they do a great job, and have alot of knowledge. Some customers are impatient and feel they should be able to dump whatever they want to, and that's a shame on them.
I had a similar first impression as other reviewers - that the gentleman that assists at the yard is very rude. After a few visits, Ive come to realize that I think he just talks that way. Look past the stoic appearance and monotone voice, and he is actually quite helpful and friendly.
The recycle yard is great! The staff are very helpful. The only downfall (reason for 4 stars) is they have limited hours and don't take bulky green waste anymore.
I don't know the name of the guy who is usually here. But he's really helpful and knowledgeable. He's usually busy, so you might need to interrupt him to ask him your question.
