Absolutely overpriced. I had a medium amount of regular household goods to throw away, that barely filled up the bed of a standard pick up truck. They charged me $111. Not even to access the actual landfill, but just to drive 20 feet to a series of large blue metal garbage containers. Absolute rip off, highly recommended you drive a few more minutes to the one in San Carlos instead.
We were quoted $110 for a load that we paid $48 to unload at the dump off 101 at Shoreline. And that didn't include the "safety vests" we were expected to buy so we could step out of the truck.
When the employee stepped out of his shack smoking a cigarette then sat it on the side of the shack, I knew we were in trouble. He said, with a smirk, $96 for my short bed filled to the edge of the bed. I asked, why so much, he said welcome to Ox mountain. I told him that was almost twice the going rate and then left. Went to South San Francisco, where they were professional, and paid $55. Don't let these guys rob you
Easy in and out if you follow instructions. This place is a huge attitude test. Those with bad experiences either failed the attitude test or failed to follow direction. I was instructed to remove the tarp from my load away from the dump area, i did so. I waited till i was given the go ahead to dump and pulled in where instructed to do so. Now if you're really smart, you'll be really nice to the guys in the front and they'll round down for you. You want a second opinion on the price, you get the attitude fee applied. If you're by weight, then that's one thing. But to be rude to the dude pricing your load by sight, are you stupid? Lol. Before the scales, my 13yd loads varied from $60-120 with the occasional $150 depending who it was and their mood. So do you think a "second" opinion is going to make it less?
The business hours listed here are wrong. This place stop admitting trucks at 4:30PM. You have to be gone by 5pm. Like the other review says, the charges seem to randomly vary and you have no recourse. However, this is still the least expensive place on average to bring garbage. By at least 50%. As for the help, remember, these are union employees and they don't have to give you good service, though several do If you give any of them attitude, they will push back hard because they can not get fired.
DO NOT DO NOT bring your garbage here!!!!!! I brought 4 truck loads, all about the same amount..First two trips I'm charged $58, third trip I'm charged $43, fourth trip the guy tells me $62...so I ask him why so inconsistent...he has no answer, asks me if I want a second opinion..I tell him yes I do. This other guy comes walking out like he's on a mission...eyeballs the bed of my truck, and tells me $78...WHAT????? I tell him I'll pay the $62, he says "NO", you'll pay the $78...I could not believe what was going on here...This is a FRAUDULENT RACKET that someone needs to investigate/look into...!!!!! Because I wanted a second opinion I get charged more???
