I was in a major car accident about a month ago and have been shopping around for vehicles. I don't have a lot of money so I've been dealing with some pretty shady dealerships that don't care to help. Idk what I was thinking I've known Jim for years and he has never let me down with any vehicle.

If you’re in the market for a vehicle, I strongly advise against purchasing from Jim at A1 Ecology Auto Wrecking & Enterprise Towing, located at 2020 N Twin Oaks Valley Rd. Despite reading previous negative reviews, I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt—but unfortunately, my experience confirmed their accuracy.
I visited the lot to look at a Honda Accord. An employee handed me the keys for a test drive but was unable to answer any of my questions about the car. Everything initially seemed fine with the car (for it being older and all), so I proceeded inside to negotiate a price with the owner, Jim. He instructed me to go to the post office to obtain a money order and then asked, “Are you sure you have the money?”—a rather unnecessary remark.
Upon returning with the money order, Jim suddenly informed me that the vehicle had not been smogged. This was concerning, as his advertisement clearly stated that the car had a current smog certification and valid registration through May 2025. When I pointed this out, he responded dismissively, claiming that “98% of the time it passes smog,” which is not the same as having a valid certification. He then added, “Well, I didn’t have to tell you anything.”
For clarification, California law requires the seller to provide a valid smog certification when selling a vehicle. When I mentioned that his reviews seemed accurate in describing dishonest business practices, he sarcastically admitted, “Yes, I’m a complete scumbag.” His evasiveness, dismissive attitude, and lack of transparency gave me a strong sense of unease.
Fortunately, I trusted my instincts and walked away from the deal. I later purchased a much better vehicle from Daniel Castillo, who was professional, honest, and transparent throughout the process. He answered all of my questions thoroughly and made the experience completely stress-free. If you’re looking for a trustworthy seller, I highly recommend him.
If there ever was a time I could give a buisness more then a 5 STAR review this would be it!! Shoutout to Jim who made today a great day for us. We saw an ad on Craigslist for a free RV in pretty good condition. We called thinking no way this is a legit ad. We drove down there and to our surprise it was just as it was pictured. Enterprise towing is a place that makes the map. Jim and his staff were friendly and knowledgeable. They made this process so easy. They were professional and gave us the valuable information on the motorhome. I wish more tow places were like Enterprise Towing. Check them out!! They have other cars, motorcycles and RV’s for sale. All for reasonable prices. You can’t go wrong with this place. They set the standard on how businesses like this should operate. He even gave us an extra day to acquire transportation for our newly acquired Rv. Thank you guys! You rock!

I was involved in an accident and my car got totaled, so I reached out to A1 Ecology and they directed me to Sam from MC Towing. Sam was extremely friendly and compassionate, and made the entire process of getting rid of my car a pleasant experience as compared to other horrible towing companies. They were able to also pay me a fair amount for exchange of the totaled car. Their communication was also great, highly recommend!

My vehicles came smogged and equipt with road worthy batteries and tires. Immaculate car detail and interior smelt like a new car.
You won't find any other ride at the low prices he offers so please don't expect the typical "used car sale lot" negotiating. That would be ridiculous bcuz the vehicles are priced to sell, not to sit on the lot.
There's always new and exciting inventory coming in and they go fast so, I recommend checking back frequently if you don't find something on your first visit.

Enterprise Towing is the best used car dealership in Southern California to buy a reasonably priced, reliable used car. There is a wide choice of cars from which anyone can choose the closest to their liking.
Jim, the owner of Enterprise Towing is super helpful. When I was an exchange student at SDSU, I bought an amazing sports car from Enterprise Towing. I fell in love with that car so much that I got it shipped to Europe, and now I use that car in Budapest, Hungary.
All in all, Enterprise Towing is the best, very highly recommended used car dealership led by a fantastic person.

I showed up to buy a Toyota solara posted online. I expected the normal junk yard etiquette, “buy at your own risk”. I was surprised by the amount of decent running cars in my price range which was $600-1500. There was a beautiful truck worth 5k that I could have got for half the price but I didn’t have that much cash. I ended up buying a Toyota Camry for $650. I bought it because it drove good and had many new parts on the engine. It’s been 3 weeks now and the car is running so good. I gave it a major tune up and it runs awesome. Everyone in the shop was nice to me and are willing to negotiate. I felt comfortable and not pressured to buy. The cars may not be the best quality but the guys selling them are. Bought a Mercedes and was told it would pass smog, it did not. Check engine light was disconnected. Heater core was disconnected.
It is illegal to sell a vehicle that can not pass smog.
Well, I bought a car from this place recently. And it was just what I was looking for, a car that works. The car wasn't perfect by any stretch and there is little work to be done and general TLC, but it was smogged and is turning out to be a great car, was able to register it with no problem. Cars are very well priced, but I do think having knowledge of repairs and ability to them yourself will help you evaluate the offerings and get the best deal possible.
This guy is slimy. The truck's radiator was bone dry, i asked if he would fill it with coolant he looked at me, laughed and said "nope. Best i can do is water." Extremely unprofessional. He would dodge questions about the vehicle and generally just was evasive. The lot is filled with junk cars and the employees were doing burnouts and sliding them in their dirt lot and slamming bumps into the driveway. Find a better place to buy a car.

The owner has an attitude with every question you ask him. I thought it would be alright to ask a few questions on cars that could potentially have problems the minute you drive it off the lot. The pictures he posts of the car are deceiving because when we got there they all looked like way more beat down then the pictures. Overall I highly do not recommend and they’re are plenty of other tow yards in the area that not only have better attitude towards potential buyers but they don’t sugar coat the pictures and the information they tell you.
had a great experience with A1 Ecology with them offering much more then most other wrecking yards for my 2004 Toyota Camry. Even thought I decided to not to sell to them I was treated with much respect and care. I will definitely remember this place if I ever have to use their services ever again.
I'm giving one star because there isn't an option to give 0 stars. I called several times and didn't get an answer... They don't even have a voicemail system in place! Talking about unprofessional. I finally just drove there to look at a vehicle they had advertised on Craigslist. The car was complete garbage and nothing like the misleading description said. The owner (Jerry) continued lying to us trying to cover it up even after we called him out on it. Needless to say, none of us will be going back .

he sold me a jeep for 1100 that he said " can pass smog" well.. I tried 3 times to no avail. I looked it up thats illegal. I recently sold it back to him for 3 hundred. his refusal to be honest from the get go is the main reason I'm reviewing so poorly
I purchased a 2001 Mercury Sable station wagon there 15 months ago (NOV '18) and very happy to report the car still runs great...just normal ford maiten6ane repairs, and very satisfied with the results, I am making this place my first stop with a friend I am helping pick out a car.
Jim is not a professional he told me that after 3 hour on a bus and train that" you dont need tabs everyone drives without tabs" No jim, honest people sometimes no matter how hard, want to do things legal and right. I wish people knew how crooked Jim is. Its all about the sale no honesty just sales no matter what you have to do. Its sad, dishonest and wrong.
After searching and dealing with people trying to get thousands for there used cars I found a toyota online at A1 ecology and bought it for $800 tags were still good I had to transfer registration $27 have a work vehicle and a family car so I used it every day after work and on weekends delivering things and made thousands car has gone all over San Diego and has gave me very little problems insurance is $49 gas $30 after i got the car they even helped me with any questions about the car referd me to affordable tire shopes when I needed I had a great experience they had a great selection and great service
