***POSSIBLY FUTURE CUSTOMERS PLEASE READ THIS FIRST*** I have an Auto and Diesel repair shop. This place supplied a “good used” engine for a customer of mine. Upon receiving, I checked the oil condition and it looked fresh. Meaning, this place most likely changed out the oil and put fresh oil in (this is odd to me. Like they are trying to cover something up) I then performed a compression test on the engine before installing into the vehicle and found out that the engine kept binding every 3 or so revolutions. I then decided to put a borescope into the engine cylinder across from the one I was compression testing. There’s a crack clear as day in the piston… that’s the first cylinder I decided to inspect. Now imagine how messed up internally things are.. This is now a huge set back for me as a business and for the customer. My advice for every other shop and individual out there- Steer very clear from this place. This is the first bad engine I had ever received from a salvage yard. I am always searching for various engines. From here on out, I will be sure to let others know what comes out of this salvage yard. *UPDATE* 03/04/2024- contacted and told the owner in the morning about a cracked pistons and internally binding during compression test. He said he would “look into it”. Afternoon: I called back and spoke to another person that answered the phone. I explained the situation. He said the owner stepped out and he would relay everything over to him 03/05/2024 @9:30 AM: contacted and spoke to the owner again. Explained everything again. I provided an invoice number from the transaction. He took my number down and said he would look into the transaction and call me back. I tried calling back several times towards the end of the day. They answered the phone and let me sit there completely ignoring me. For anyone reading this- DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!!! They have no business ethics or morals. To “America Auto Dismantling”, what comes around goes around. Bad business practice WILL catch up to you.
Not the cheapest price for parts but service is good. They also have a vast variety of parts considering the fact that most places at brown field are gone. I would definitely buy here again.
My transmission went out and they not only had one there but installed it for a very reasonable price. Saved me a lot of money! Gave me a warranty too, but that was 6 months ago and I’ve had no issues. Really nice people too.
