So glad the new location is open. If you have old fixtures in your house and need to match an aesthetic this is your place. Very helpful staff.

Visited this shop during our vacation in San Diego. Not as big as the shops we have visited in Colorado and Florida, but it had some cool items. The owner was very cordial, but we did not buy anything during our visit. We parked across the street as they don't have parking for the store.

This place was great, so much cool stuff to check out. Lots of skeleton keys and door knobs, weird scales and even a babydolls head in a c-clamp super rad and creepy check them out. The Owner and her daughter were there picking things up. They were both very friendly and even had a wee chat with mynl girlfriend about where in Scotland to go. Not to busy or uninterested in there busy day to enjoy a pleasant conversation. Great prices and friendly faces.

Too bad this place is going out of business after 28 years. They are having a going out of business sale until everything is gone.

Such a fun and awesome store! I could spend a few hours in here. Wish I had room for so many of these treasures!

THE OWNER IS SO SWEET I DON'T KNOW HOW SHE BALANCES THAT WITH BUSINESS BUT SHE DOES....I BOUGHT 3 SETS OF GIANT DOUBLE DOORS SHE BOUGHT IN EUROPE FROM THE 1800s I BELIEVE....I BOUGHT A MODERN HOUSE IN PALM SPRINGS AND WANT TO INCORPORATE THESE OLD BEAUTIFUL DOTS TO IT.... THE OWNER EVEN MANAGED LOGISTICS BACK TO PALM SPRINGS FOR ME (This was luck so don't expect that but you never know)I CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK!

I stumbled upon Architectural Salvage not long after moving to San Diego in the early 2000s and it was love at first sight. I've purchased numerous treasured items for my home and the homes of others (clients) over the years. My interior design clients, even the ones with modern homes who didn't initially share my love for salvaged items, all became converts. Even the most modern of homes can benefit from Elizabeth's (the owner's) carefully curated gems. I wrote a (deservedly glowing) review for Architectural Salvage over a decade ago and felt it was time to write another due to my most recent wonderful experience there. (Photos attached.) My husband and I are lovingly restoring our 1913 South Park home. Elizabeth and the various people who work for her are truly wonderful and amazingly helpful, whether your project is large or small. Among numerous other gems, Elizabeth carries some kind of door hardware converter (I don't recall what it's called) that allows you to change the interior mechanisms of doors from one hardware type to another. As you can see in the attached photos, we were able to replace a doorknob set that looked like it belonged on a utility closet in a rundown school with a stunning (and period-appropriate) doorknob set. I had looked at multiple reproduction hardware shops because I didn't know it was possible to change the inner door mechanism and am beyond thrilled I found out (at Architectural Salvage) that this was a possibility. This stunning and substantial doorknob set was actually a fraction of the cost of buying a far less attractive reproduction. Thank you, Architectural Salvage (and lovely Elizabeth!) for continuing to inspire, amaze & delight. Our home and garden are peppered with so many Architectural Salvage gems that bring us such joy. Yours with gratitude, Felicia * AS photos on my Yelp review. :)

A fun store to look around for hard to find architectural hardware and accessories. Friendly. Big variety

Terrific eclectic assortment of architectural salvage here. Some prices very reasonable, some a bit over what I'd expect. But not high enough to keep me from going back there to get some decor. I will be looking forward to seeing what they have each time I go.

Great place! Wonderful selection. I return frequently to see what's new. Helpful and nice owner.

Rather pricey, but these treasures can't be found elsewhere, so probably worth the price. Check out their inventory of stained glass windows, as well as other great and curious pieces of San Diego buildings of yore.

Very cool place, lots to pick and choose from, selection changes periodically as they sell out of certain items and bring new inventory in.

If you are looking for vintage / antique fixtures this is the place to go! Lots of hardware, knobs, pulls, etc as well as windows, doors, light fixtures. It’s a little dusty as you’d expect and stock changes frequently.

Lots of treasures here! Pricey, but generally not overpriced. Wish I had known about this place when I was looking for escutcheon plates for my house. They have lots of door hardware from the era I was looking for. Definitely recommend a visit to this store.

This place is amazing - salvaged doors and tons of door hardware, lead glass windows, wood furniture, flatware, odds & ends. I even found a cool doorbell cover here. Lots of funky art made from found objects - really inspiring. Not cheap but stuff is fairly priced.

Moderate selection but high prices. You see a lot of the same pieces with very few unique finds. Huge collection of vintage doors so if that's you thing this is probably where you would want to stop in.

Great customer service! Fantastic one of a kind hardware, doors, etc. Sent pictures of what we were looking for & held for us to come look at...great people! Highly recommend!

This place is really cool and unique!! Anyone looking to do a home improvement project with an eye for the unique and whimsical will appreciate the antique and repurposed items this shop has to offer. And even if you aren't in the position to complete such a project, it is well worth your time to check in and see this one-of-a-kind store!!

I came across Architectural Salvage of San Diego last year. It has been one of the best places that I know in San Diego. I took my architect friends who were visiting me from Holland to this place. I was so proud when my friends were so impressed. One of them later wrote an article about Architectural Salvage of San Diego in Holland. Thank you

Fantastic. Unique, a Gem. I'm a perfectionist. Elizabeth is amazing, patient, wonderful. Great, great, great selection and value -- no other place on the west coast can compare...

Woah, this place is cool. Amazing strange salvaged stuff. Made me wish I didn't live in a rental and could do some really creative renovations using the hardware from here. Everything from signage to sinks to door-pulls and locks and keys and banister railings, all with amazing natural character from their age. Definitely worth checking out.

My art studio is just across the street, so I wander into this shop frequently to see what new things they've acquired. I too am an East Coast Transplant with a love of all things old, with character, and unique design. I always find something exciting that I would love to add to my collection or gain inspiration from.
