The guy who runs the place was super nice and I was weary after reading some reviews. He was super accommodating and friendly. Some people are just bad customers I guess.
I called inquiring about a manifold for my CJ7 Jeep, and it was a great
experience talking to knowledgeable representatives who are well-versed
in Jeeps. Since then, I have continued to return for all my Jeep parts
because I am in the process of building my Jeep from the ground up. They
have every part I need for my rebuild, including parts for my CJ2A.
Friendly staff huge verify of parts with reasonable prices and repair center is a great place for jeepers and any other 4x4 utility vehicle it gave me wonderful shop and repair experience, highly recommended.
The sheer amount of parts they have for jeeps is an awesome thing in of its self.
The conflicting, "Yes, this is the part for your model and year of jeep, says one person. Then another says that's not it, and then a third says yes." Is abit of an issue but thankfully I had someone with me that saw the original part before it went missing, along with pictures online lining up with the one we chose.
The fact that I could get an original jeep part for $80 less than a cheap no name brand one that I can't verify the quality of means I'll be back should I need something again.
Just make sure you know exactly what you need(pictures would be great assurance) for whatever model of your jeep and you should be fine.
Came here all the way from San Bernardino, nothing but a good experience and well worth the trip. The owner was very helpful and very kind. I wouldn’t mind all these other bad reviews to be honest seems like they’re just trying to bring down a good honest Buisness. They have great prices, I needed my rear upper control arm for my jeep tj and got it for more then half of the price then other places, oh and In new condition pretty much.
100% recommend this place and definitely will be coming back if I need something for my builds.
I would like to give 0 stars but this is the lowest I can go. The worst place you guys can be at, this guy is very rude and disrespectful. I called the number posted and I said “good morning” and he was already barking on the phone for no reason. Worst customer service I ever experienced in SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA!!!

Extremely overpriced and rude to customers. I will gladly go to Pick Your Part down the street and pull the parts myself rather than deal with these guys
What a joke. Wanted $175 for a used front xj drive shaft. Didn’t even want to try negotiate prices with me. That’s $100 more than what you pay on eBay.
Taken all my Jeep's here for service. I know a few other reviews say the employees are rude or yell, but really it's just an accent from someone who speaks English as a second language. Very friendly and knowledgeable people but misunderstood. Just because they sell used items doesn't mean prices are negotiable, they are buy now eBay equivalent not an auction so if that's what you're looking for you probably will be disappointed.
I've taken three Jeep's here and never had a bad experience. Their service and parts were always reasonable. The staff have always been helpful. Ron G.

Went there to get some parts to fix my jeep and the guys there where lots of help, walk in with a positive attitude after reading all the reviews and was never disrespected. people complain that the bargain on the price or talk about online prices being cheaper, obviously people get annoyed if you try to bargain, you don't do that at Walmart do you? or talking about online prices well damn obviously china parts will be practically free and 90% of the time wrong. but as a personal experience, it was fine, got my parts and fixed my jeep so 5 stars

so I bought an old jeep and some of the interior plastic parts need to be replaced. I called and told this guy roughly what I was looking for and he knew part numbers off the top of his head. He quoted me one price... came out and looked at my jeep... then lowered the price because I didn't need all the parts I thought I did.
I then asked about other parts... two of which he advised that I buy from a dealer or on Amazon as he cant get the parts cheaper.
He also diagnosed a potential problem. The previous owner put bigger tires on but didn't switch out the front and back differential gears... so I'm not getting any torque. He quoted me a price that I have since called a bunch of dealerships and off road shops and they cant come close to matching.
I'm reading all these reviews... and I'm not seeing any of these behaviors. I mean... everyone has a bad day? but this guy was really kind and interested in my jeep (at least 10 minutes worth any way). He joked with me and advised on how to clean up the seat belt mechanisms and other things. Complimented me on a good purchase (the car itself) and over all said it was a great off road vehicle... even showed how I have rim locks? it stops the tire from popping the bead while I'm off roading. said I can air down to 8lbs with them!
I met two of the staff and they were funny too telling m to go to Tijuana for a paint job! (my car is currently pink... when it should be red because the sun faded it)
I walked in asking for help and not acting like I knew it all... perhaps that's the difference from all the negative reviews?

When you look on Yelp people don't have nice things to say about the customer service. I'm not one of those, I've been there a couple of times for jeep parts and every time I was treated as a customer should and didn't have any issues with customer service.
I am giving 1 star because there is the lowest possible rating that can give. The staff are a bunch of jerks everything is overpriced and you have to agree on a price before you can be able to even look at the item(which is what they told me) just a terrible place and I will never go back even if they give me free parts because the staff is just plain rude.
Story:When I went in I asked for some parts and he told me a price which was overpriced so I asked to see them figuring he would bargin down to a price but he said why do you want to see them when we haven't agreed on a price. And I said ok well will you take this and he said and I quote "I don't take offers" and was very annoyed because he wasent even being polite he was being rude to a potential customer so I walked out.
Called to ask if they do repairs and guy said they had to do a diagnostic. I then asked the price and he gave it to me. I was looking a their hours online and it said 8-5 M-F which are my working hours so I asked if the closing time 5pm and before I could finish, he said "YOU HAVE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT" (capital letters = yelling). I said " I wasn't planning to take it today, I was simply trying to confirm your business hours" to which he responded " 5pm we close at 5PM" he was extremely rude so..obviously, they will not be getting my business. They would get 0 stars if that was an option.
Excellent shop. John and Alex were extremely helpful and loaded with knowledge. They were able to find me in a very rare part quickly. They also have tons of accessory parts for upgrades as well . Thanks
Obvious that this company is not honest. Owner tried to sell me a 1980's wrangler with a cracked engine, body and frame for 1500 dollars. Literally, an engine that didn't have any oil pressure, a body that was beat to crud, and the frame. No ignition, radiator, axels, transmission, wheels, get my point! This place might be good if you need a part or two, but don't buy anything from them unless you know what you're getting in to!
I ended up finding a 1970's cj 5 for under 2000 somewhere else. Needs work, but already fires up.
If money is no object, these guys might be great (most likely not). But if you are on a budget, these guys will not work with you. Read the other posts, any that tell you they don't help, its true. Go to craigslist, or another junk yard
Guy is horrible to work with. He's rude. I went there to get a set of OEM windshield hinge brackets he wanted 120$ they sell new for 70$. But I wanted the OEM ones so I told what they are new and if he can come down. He said go get the new ones then. Definitely not knowledgeable on jeep as he talks him self out to be. Telling me stuff from a CJ won't fit on my yj when I asked if he had and CJ grills.
Absolutly ridiculous called asking about jeep wrangler tj right fender the actual body not the plastic flare and the guy said 200 i told him thats outrageous because i can get them online for 90 bucks and he just said okay bye and hung up POS business needs to be shut down
I'm giving them five stars because I've got 1990's jeep cherokees, and I've been going here since I had my first Cherokee beginning in 1994. I like to keep my Cherokees going, replacing body parts and materials as necessary,… and this is the best place to go for all that. It's a culture,… this is not military or high strung culture,… and they're good people too. Work with 'em.
UNBELIEVABLE!!! I have visited this place over a half a dozen times. Why??!! I still don't know. This guy has CONSISTENTLY disappointed me and each time I ask myself, "Why do you even waste time on this guy". Well, "John" (owner) says through his Middle Eastern and condescending accent, there is "... is no one else where you can buy Jeep parts". And according to him, he is doing me a favor by selling it to me. Yes, he even said that.
I actually had merchandise on the guys counter ready to pay as the guy continued to be a pr!#K. I suggested he be a little nicer to his customers where he replied, " I am being nice, I'm selling you this part". Needless to say, I kindly shook the man's hand and told him he'll never see me again.
Since then, I found every part I was looking for on ebay and 25% cheaper - and yup, free shipping and no Pr!#K. If you go, can't say I didn't warn you. This guy needs to be put out of business. If you're a Jeepster, this guy violates every businessman, community servant, and hobby-est code I can think of. Some people just shouldn't be in business....and he just earned himself a boy-cotter that will be going out of the way to help people avoid business like this.
Good luck, you'll need it. And by the way, he volunteered that he makes 80% of his profit from labor (once you see the parts quality, you'll see why), so expect to be told he is the only person or the best person to do the work.
This place was awful. I called twice beforehand to ensure that they had the part I needed. Both times they said yes, they have the part ready to go. when I get there they find out oops, we were looking at the wrong part. They tell me they can take the part off a different jeep in just a few minutes. A half hour later they get the part off just to say, oops, looks like that's not useable. Sorry guy.
And I had taken an uber to get down there and had to pay for them to wait while the part got pulled. So basically this place wasted over two hours of my time getting there and waiting for them; and I had to pay a huge price for the ride there and back.
On top of all that, they're difficult to understand, and fairly impatient. I payed for the part while I was waiting for it and then the guy got mad at me cause they had to do a refund when they didn't carry the part.
I've never reviewed anything online before, my experience was just that awful. Do not give this place your business.
This is the best Jeep salvage yard on the west coast. Especially if you have older Full size jeeps like I do. The people were very helpful and great prices. John and his crew took there time showing me what they had available and then removed it for me if it wasnt already off and placed in the well organized shelving. Thanks for all the help and great service John. I will be back to buy more. They made the trip from Phoenix well worth the drive. Maybe the other reviews on here are a little spoiled in Southern Cali but I found this place to be top notch. DO NOT HESITATE to buy here. AAAA++++
Hi to any one who is looking to business with Hard Rock 4x4. I have a few things to say, first off i have sent friends to this shop/yard and they had a good Experience. But the few times i have call Hard Rock for a price quote its like pulling cats teeth. like im bothering him, pretty sure thats his job and how he makes money. So months later i called again hoping for a better Experience to see if he would work on a price for a part that i was going to drive a little ways to get. and again who ever answered the phone was short and rude as if i was an inconvenience for calling and asking such and absurd thing. After asking my question he answered back with half an answer than hung up. This is not the first time this has happened with them this just the first time i am taking the time to write about it, on top of it they are overpriced by a long shot!
I feel this business is unprofessional do not do business with them.
Im more than happy to drive a little ways to avoid dealing with Hard Rock.
