First time coming here & the staff were extremely helpful. I met Tony & explained this was my first time & he guided me every step of the way. I had aluminum, plastic bottles & some glass. I felt the prices were fair. I'm handicapped & maybe that's why he stepped up but I have to say that my overall experience was quick & easy.
Nice people; helpful unloading ~400 Lbs of cast iron, but only paid 70% of market rate for this type of scrap. I'll shop around for better rates next time.
Went there with a bunch of trash cans of miscellaneous copper wire and some scrape aluminum. The gentleman in front was very helpful showing me how to separate everything and helped push the heavy cart to the weight station. And it was busy. Excellent service in there and in the pay office. 10 stars
Extraordinary service. They attend to you well. Upon arrival, Junior approached me to welcome me and offer assistance. He would check in, and then helped me cart my recyclables. Everyone was very friendly, everyone thanking me for my business.
I want to change my review to positive. I received a letter from the owner Bobby and he helped me understand how to get more from wire recycling. There was room to turn my large truck around. I was upset due to my expectations about what my stuff was worth. Bobby explained it all in an email.
By far the best scrap metal recycling company I've ever worked with. Our company had a decommissioning project in Carlsbad over June/July 2022 and we filled up 21, 40-yard roll-offs of steel and aluminum in less than 2-1/2 weeks. CMS was able to drop and swap several roll-offs each day which allowed us to be extremely efficient and complete our project faster than expected. I was anticipating an adjustment on the payouts because of their expedited service but their payouts were excellent. Josh was great to work with, easy to get in touch with, and delivered on the service that I needed.

The place where my dad and I go to recycle our cans, bottles, wire, & cables is very organized as soon as we get there. There is always a worker at the entrance directing cars into there parking spot. Today there were two young guys unloading the cans and putting the cans into the proper trash cans to weight our supply. Very nice and helpful there.
Great service, great payout on aluminum. I had 116lbs of aluminum, got $151.20 payout on that. There is a 100lb a day limit per California law that you can redeem, so they did make an exception for me and allow me to go a little bit over. A little less payout, but I then had 188 lbs of glass (beer bottles only, wine and liquor bottles have no CRV apparently) and I got $17.07 payout on that. A great place to take your recycling goods
I wouldn't care if I was in BFE!! I wouldn't go anyplace else. These guys and gals here are AWESOME!! Get exactly what you deserve from your recycling. I've been ripped off at the other places. Thanks you guys for being honest. It's tough enough out here. Later...
California Metal Services Inc. is my go to for recycling in Escondido. They have an outstanding, professional staff.
It's not the largest, and they do get crowded...but then, that's because they are really good.
Steel, Iron,lead,copper, aluminium and more....turn your metals to cash.
It's important to note the following: Metal that has mixed parts will not get you top price. Copper with brass will get you a lot less than if it was just copper.
Sort your metal onto carts according to metal type. If you have things that have mixed metals, keep them off the carts that have pure metal (copper, steel, lead, iron etc). Yes you'll have lots of things that may be mixed, but take your time and sort pure types separate.
Some pricing is really different with mixed metal. Do your homework, ask questions and take your time. they also take plastic bottles and soda cans.
I was pleasantly surprised. When I arrived it was busy with no places to park. They were lining us up along the side to add additional space to unload. Worked perfectly. The gentleman got a cart for the car rims that I told him I was recycling. He helped me take them out of the trunk and escorted me to the bay where they weight them. They explained there was a three day wait on the money... I said good, so if someone steals my rims off my car the police might have time to find them... :-) he said exactly. If you want, they will give you half of the money they owe you the first day and the remainder on the third day. I chose to just get it all at once. Very professional, helpful, and nice.
NO MORE COUPONS?!? THAT SUCKS!! My favorite recycleing center to use. The weighmasters are upbeat, helpful and keep things moving along. They even remember who i am and my last name eventhough i onlu go there once a month if that. My only knock is that they hired (Francisco?) from the other recycleing center that closed down the street. Hes the reason i stopped uzing thst center years ago for down grading my metal to lesser grades or counting ALL my metal as low grade because of one or two pieces that were low grades instead of setting them aside. Otherwise they'd get 5 stsrs from me.
Its an up and coming scrap yard relatively in order prices could always be higher for metal i think they get so much they can pay less but its not a big difference from most places. Employees are nice and helpful so theres that!
My company uses CMS for metal & cardboard recycling. They have always been prompt with pick-up & payment. Good prices compared to their competitors. Customer Service is excellent, drivers are very friendly & accommodating. Nothing but great things to say about this company from the drivers to the sales people to the management.
Lied to about payment for iron bin. Eli is to be avoided at all costs. dodges phone calls, lies when
you finally get him on the phone. Shorts you on the metal weight. There are lots of reasonably honest folks in the metal business. These guys do not fit that category.
