Huge thank you to Willie at S&R towing. My family and I got our Class A motorhome stuck in some soft sand in the middle of the desert. Willie stayed calm, cool, and collected under the difficult situation we found ourselves in. Without Willie we may have been a 5pm news story.
Got high-centered on a giant boulder in the middle of summer in Borrego on a steep sand hill, on a weekend in 100+ heat, nobody else around. Probably could have self-recovered but would have taken all night. Figured nobody was available, but called S&R Towing just to check. The guy comes out on his day off and winches me off the boulder. And then only charged me half what he should. Dude was funny and nice too. Hope I never need their service again, but I highly recommend them if you do.
Willi saved our day after getting stuck in the sand with a rental car. We called them and they sent someone after about 30 min. Charged us $360 for an hour even though it probably took a little longer including the drive. Sorry Willi for interrupting your stake dinner!

Got stuck in the Sea today and S&R came in a reasonable time and pulled me right out with their beast of a Rig. Was costly like most stupid prizes but could’ve been a lot worse. Definitely recommend them if you’re stuck anywhere near the Salton Sea area! Thank you!

They saved the day! my vehicle broke down coming up a steep narrow grade, and they were able to tow it down to the town without any troubles. upon arrival, they send you a text so you can pay from your phone! Mad a stressful situation a little bit easier. Their price was fair as well. The driver was professional and informative.
Only partial negative is that we had to call 2 times to get through with an option to speak to a live individual. However, it could have been situational at that time. overall positive experience and will absolutely call them for a future tow!
These guys kick serious a—. They (Mike) made it out to a dark desert wash in the middle of the night (where I got my truck stuck in sand) in record time. His dispatcher was ON it! They both kept me well informed on their time-window and coordinates. (Talk about dependable). Life-savers here. Thank guys. You were the ONLY tow-company willing to help.
They charge $510 but they got me out of a real jam. We worked for a few hours with no success. Have up and called these guys. They came to us in less than an hour and brought the right equipment to move my van to safety.. quick and efficient and pretty nice staff as well
The equipment and the manner of the tow truck driver were as professional as it gets. They retrieved my car just off a narrow 2 way highway in the mountains behind borrego springs, the traffic was stopped but not for long. When the recovery was set in motion, it was done quickly, while taking caution to not cause further damage to the vehicle.
Great and honest business. We were super stuck in a mud pit near the seashore with no luck using shovel and Maxtraxs to free our vehicle. Luckily, they got the right equipment and knowledge to help us. Mike was able to locate us and winched us out within 2 hours after we called in. He is very familiar with the area and we had an extraordinary experience. Very impressive and would 100% recommend
I was recently stuck in the sand in the middle of nowhere for 7+ hours and after i tried everything i could do to get my vehicle out, i had zero luck with other means of towing. This place was able to send someone out quickly to my location via co-ordinates and i was back on the road in no time. Needless to say, these people are saviors and im grateful for Mike being able to use his winch to get my vehicle out. Thanks again and i will definitely be recommending this place to everyone .
Got my car stuck in the mud while off-roading near Salton sea. Way off a main road, the team worked with to figure out where exactly I was and how best to approach the situation.
Mike frequently checked in on me and walked me through everything he was doing so I would know how to better handle the situation next time I'm offroading. He was incredibly informative and nonjudgmental for my ignorance, including what to do after I was unstuck to make sure I didn't cause damage to my car. Don't know what I would've done without them.
I hope I never get in this situation again, but if I do, I know exactly who to call.
Lee (#395) was absolutely amazing! My car was SUV was stuck down an impossibly long, steep hill and he figured a way to get it out. He was the most patient and kind tow truck driver I’ve ever met. Highly recommend S&R towing because of how great he was.
Oh my god Willie is a life saver We are so grateful for him to have come to the rescue today. He was earlier than the time quoted and he did a quick fix for us to make our 2 hour drive back to where we were staying. Mind you we we’re all the way in the dessert mountains with 110 degree weather we were in the middle of nowhere in Anza Borrego Park, panicking. Very good services. We called and they responded quickly on a holiday (July 4th). We waited for a bit longer than expected but the driver was super helpful and got our 25 ft RV out of loose sand.
I was at the very back of the Borrego Palms campground and had locked my keys in my truck like an idiot. 20 minutes later I'm in my car thanks to "Cowboy". First thing he did was give me a bottle of cold water which was welcome after a 3-hour hole in hot weather. He made my day and saved my butt. Awesome service.

Excellent customer service from the initial phone call, to arrival updates and the tow. I was having a low oil pressure problem on my way to San Diego on Interstate 8 just outside of Ocotillo. There’s no way my semi truck was going to make it over the mountains without doing major engine damage.
I called several companies for a heavy haul tow from a listing of companies in the area on my GPS. Got many reasons why they couldn’t tow me that day. One company even asked if it was ok to do it the following day. NO!!! It wasn’t, so I googled heavy duty wrecker.
Called S&R. The dispatcher was polite and upfront with me about the price and how long it was going to take the wrecker to get to me. I am a one truck owner operator and I appreciated knowing what the bill was going to be upfront. No hidden fees BTW. I apologize as I don’t remember her name. She called multiple times to update me on the arrival time.
Brett showed up. His rig was immaculately clean was the first thing I noticed, which to me is a sign that this person is very detailed in how they approach their job and they will do the same with my truck. He was awesome. I have a difficult oil pan that hangs lower than most. Brett carefully got my truck hooked as to not damage anything. He was very knowledgeable and took no shortcuts as to ensure that my truck was going to make it to the shop without costing me anymore money than I was already looking to pay out. Well done Sir!!!

Its rarely a great day when you need to call a tow truck, but my perpetual bad day was made much better when Dave came to the rescue. Dave did an outstanding job; he was happy to be of service and was really a pleasure to have met. My vehicle had lost power in the middle of the desert, and Dave being from the area came prepared with a bottle of water and offered me the use of his phone if I didn't have cell service to make my arrangements; a true professional. I appreciated Dave's sense of humor and light spirit. You can tell he enjoys his job. An overall great experience considering my day. I Hope S&R Towing realizes the asset they have in Dave. The tow truck driver dave was helpful and all but roped us in at first by quoting $130, then changed it to $360 when we were on the road and finally bumped it up to $480 when we were about to pay. Unacceptable, we didn’t have that kind of money... if you’re a possible customer reading this and wondering why they’re so few bad reviews, it’s because the text they send you to rate them redirects you off google reviews if you think it was bad.
Left our car door ajar overnight and faced dead battery the next morning. Unfortunately we were travelling and in unfamiliar area but they found us and quickly got our car up and running again. Very happy with prompt friendly services provided.
Rusty showed up in a very timely manner and was knowledgable. He helped assess the situation and went above and beyond to help us out. Awesome service. The truck was spotless and Rusty was well groomed. We were in a difficult situation and at the hands of the service. We were treated with respect and the service was worth the money and as quoted. S and R towing did a great job getting my truck and trailer home safe when it broke down 80 miles from home in the middle of the desert! All of the drivers I dealt with were very curteous, especially Rusty! Who really went above and beyond to make sure all of our gear made it home safe. 10/10 Would tow again.
Rusty was a hero. He came quickly once notified. He assessed our situation quickly and came up with a solution to free us from the deep sand readily. He handled the whole process and communications like a pro. Going above and beyond, he then escorted us to the metal sculpture we we're searching for when we got stuck, so that we could capture the photo we drove hours to take. We honor him this and successive Thanksgivings as someone we have gratitude for
I had to be towed twice in two days. Both times they responded promptly. Drivers were fast, professional and courteous. The trucks were new and comfortable. I highly recommend them for your towing and road side service needs.
Fabulous driver, friendly and helpful, he cleaned our battery terminal and had contacts at the garage so we got quick service. He was very delayed though and we waited in the heat for a couple of hours, apparently due to an accident, so hard to be upset about that. They might have contacted another driver or garage to provide faster service.

Fast and Friendly...We were on a mini vacation to Borrego Springs when we experienced a problem with our car at a grocery store there, our car would not start. After a failed attempt to start it with a jump I called my AAA service center and they sent out S&R Towing which showed up within 30 minutes and knew exactly where we were since the store was in the back it's mall. He attached a meter to the battery and had me try and start the car again and that's when he informed me that it was a starter issue which what was the right call. We ended up having our car loaded up and we were on our way back to our dealership in La Mesa nearly 100 miles away. Thanks for your fast and friendly service.
