Some reviews were talking about tipped scales. I checked: stepped on their scales and my weight was correct. If there was a problem in the past - not anymore.

Rebate amount is good. Great customer service. The staff is very helpful.

I wish this place would close and disappear then all of the homeless on 9th will be gone. These pieces of trash just sit in our business properties across the street waiting for this place to open it's really great I should start sending my bills to them for the broken windows in the trash that's accumulated on our property from their so-called customers.

I stopped going here years ago. They make a ton of money ripping people off. Shady business owners. It's pretty bad when the people who work there tell you the scales are tipped. "Word of the Month" ..what a joke. They're stealing your money! STOP GOING THERE!

Last time I took cans in they pointed out that there was a 1/4" piece of copper pipe in the basket and downgraded the price due to contamination. I didn't put it in there the piece was caught in the netting most likely from a previous customer. Anyway, I won't go back.

Prices are average. For the most part employees are helpful and friendly. But this one guy with a stitch bandaid at the top his nose (?) was disrespectful when I kindly asked him to help me open up the plastic bags at the top because they had been tightened to the point where I couldn’t do it myself; this is not Customer Service. I didn’t ask him to dig a trench or add an annex to my house. I just simply asked him to undo it he tight knot at the top of the bags. He was rude and not helpful.

Helpful in a kinda reckless way tearing some bags we reuse for taking plastic bottles, the real ethical one is we had three bins of white and colored bottles 2/3 full and only received $14.00 and some cents ? You have to be kidding me!, will try somewhere else!

Good fast drive thru to recycle most all things like aluminum, steel, ever car parts but they want it broken down like 95% to each element which kinda makes sense but honestly prevents most stuff from getting recycled. They wouldn’t take my aluminum jack only this fire aluminum bottle

It's convenient. Fast paced. I don't like the fact of NOT knowing exactly what you're turning in. Most places weigh the baskets with materiel then re-weigh the baskets empty & deduct from the weight. Here you can't even see the weight. They can manipulate the numbers all they want.

My receipt stated 9,9 the lady at the window changed it to 6.60, by adding a zero, and under lining the numbers. She took a while to alter my piece of paper, that the man who weigh my plastic bottles wrote. She also stated she needed to see a Cal ID. When asked why? She stated you have to be a Ca resident to redeem cash from recyclables.. First and last time I come here.

For some reason they seem to pick out at least 2 handfuls of cans and bottles and toss them into a different container, everytime. I assume those are not counted in the weight that I am paid for. very shady people and business. There's a better recycling center off Mission that don't do this at all. I recommended NOT going to this place.

It’s an ok place. Lesson to be learned: we had one small plastic bottle in a mountain of cans. We sort at home and thought we did a good job. But we missed one. That one bottle cost us a 3% “contamination fee”. So be aware.

This is my preferred recycling spot, mostly because I've never had a bad experience. I'd describe my experience as "slightly better than neutral" because employees are eager to help me sort my containers & get me out of there quickly when I arrive 20 minutes before closing. Sorting the multiple categories of materials is now as confusing as trying to learn Chess, but that's not up to them. You get a better aluminum rate if you mention the code word from their website to the person recording the weight. The one improvement I'd love to see is a redesign of the cashier office. Cashiers are situated upwards of 3 feet higher than customers, behind mirrored glass, & are neither seen nor heard during their transactions with customers. A phantom hand takes your receipt & I.D. Then, you wait a shockingly long time for the phantom hand to present you with a new receipt requiring your signature and, finally, your cash. It would be nice to put a face to the phantom hand, but maybe that's just me.

Very dirty parking lot full of pot holes and nails, people who work there look like borderline homeless people from Los Angeles or Mexico border, only one guy is well dressed rest in rags. Scrap metal all sold as tin so you get pennies and many times they intentionally not give you the coupon price even if you tell them the secret word or they will deduct randomly for contamination so check your receipts before you accept payment. They will frequently take out random things to cut costs even though they pay for those items so know your plastics and crv. If you’re there just to get any money and not the maximum then by all means go there because you’ll get paid… just not the maximum value that you should be getting if they were organized and honest. Watch out for random homeless people there . There are plenty, they blend in with the workers because they dress the same , look the same, and equally as dirty.

Fast service, but I feel my items were not looked at and I was given the lower pay amount. When I should have been given the higher amount since I took the time to clean the material. You just need to speak up and tell them on the spot.

Just went in today with my husband and father-in-law. One truck one versa. If there was a zero star I’d give them a -5 ⭐. They stole from us. Went in with over $350 worth. When confronted they told me that was what it came out to be. If you’d like to severely be ripped off then come by here! Never returning.

It pays to recycle here. Each month just say the secret password on the website to the worker processing your recycling. He kicks in a higher return rate on your recycles. Always friendly service from the employees here too.

Even when I go here when it says it's the least busy this place always seems to be overwhelmed. They never seem to even have one basket available to put your recyclables in. Only two people in line but the parking lot is full and there's no baskets anywhere. Doesn't really even make sense... I look at these reviews and wonder if they're even real when they're saying how well everything went here... Haha

A convenient place for recycling in general. They sometimes don't honor coupons though. Even if I mentioned a coupon code to the person weighing the stuff, I could see the coupon was not applied. It happened a few times. Also when I brought various bronze brass memorabilia stuffs without sorting, they calculated them as cheap hollow die cast or something. I later found out that most of them were expensive metals. So make sure you know what you're recycling before going there.

This place stole from me today. I watched my load of plastic bottles which I crushed and relieved all water from weigh in at 54.4 lbs. Attendant put down 45.0 lbs gross before subtracting cart. They literally stole approx. $12 from me where crv plastic gets $1.280 per lb. I've been going there for decades and always felt they were skimming from me. Today I caught them and complained. They said the cart couldn't hold 30 lbs of crushed plastic. I proved them wrong, it can. I will be filing complaints with the BBB, city and state. If I'm not reimbursed for this theft I will sue out of principle. Watch and log your cart weight and gross weights. Theft happens here.

My first time here. No parking on a weekday, overcrowded. Not to mention that they don’t give you a receipt. We used to get much more money and receipt at the other place. We only walked away with $7 with all the hassle. I feel I was cheated. Won’t go there again.

Went in to recycle my dead car battery and got about $7.50 for it they were passing at$0.20 per lb. The place was clean and the staff was very friendly. The line moved quite fast. Easy in and out. I would return if I collected more stuff.

Used to recycle here all the time. Not anymore. They cheat you with their coupon policy. They ask you to repeat a phrase or word to get a coupon for what you are turning in. But it’s up to them whether they accept the coupon phrase and for the last four months they have refused and so I gave up. They lie and say it wasn’t said or the guy didn’t hear it. Don’t go!!! They are cheats!!!!! Don’t accept deception from the companies you do business with!!

March 14, 2018 The Latina in the cashiers booth cheated me for sure. When I walked up I handed her a coupon and I asked her if she would honor my coupon for $2 per lb of aluminum , and she said give it to the guy outside. Then I tried to give her my ID and she was yelling at me through the coin tray “ I don’t want an ID !! It Has To Be $100 Or More!! “ Oh , okay so - I put my ID back in my wallet and said to her it’s going to be over $100. A few minutes later she get out of her booth and was looking at all the recycle I had , several baskets lined up - then started talking to the guy outside in Spanish as he was weighing the cans. She was all in a huff standing like a tough woman with an attitude – she asked for the coupon I gave him then shrugged , twisted her lip to made un ugly face before she said something in Spanish to the guy - keeping her voice down - and it didn’t sound good – then stuck it bank in the guys hand and marched back to her both. A few minutes later, I went back to the booth and handed her my ID again when she said “ You have too much aluminum , and too much plastic – we can only take 100lbs of each per day. “ She had me sign the receipt , and then kept it - she passed out the window $216 and change. So it looks like they never honored the coupon because that would have been $200 back , just for the cans , I also had 100lbs in plastic and it should have been much more. Since I never got my receipt back I wonder if she pocketed a few 20’s for herself. I feel like I got shorted , and she was being rude and yelling at me through the window. I’ve been coming here for several years now but it’s time to move on. I’m never going back again.. There are other recycle places in the area that I’m sure, are more honest and have better service.

Dishonest business practices. Cheating and scamming is the way their business operates. I highly advise that you find somewhere else to do business. Continental is close and doesn’t make a practice out of scamming. I find their scales to be accurate but they will try to squeeze you for your wire. They see you’re going to make a couple hundred bucks and they say your product is insulated#3 even though a smaller batch was insulated#2 three days prior. I know the difference and so do they. If you call them out on it, they will “correct the mistake”... if you’re not paying attention then they won. They do this every time. I brought them bare wire, they call it copper tubing. This has been going on for several years, in that time I have collected thousands of dollars from them. They know me, and they still attempt to scam me every time. Most of their customers are homeless and the site is filthy with bodily fluids. When I first started going there I noticed the customers usually try to scam the business. Dirt in cans and water in jugs. I felt bad for this place until I realized it was karma full circle. I parked next to the owners Tesla once and he started yelling at me like I damaged his car... I just came to pick up my cash after the 3 day hold and didn’t want to block a bay. I thought I was being considerate but parking between their Tesla and Mercedes really offends them. Their employees look to be ill treated also and it’s painfully obvious that not only are their clients drug abusers but so are several of their staff. I’ve lived in Upland for thirty years, and I can say in all honesty... it is my opinion that this business is extremely bad for our community. I told them I wouldn’t be back yesterday and they said “good” lol... and they’re right.

Employees are very amicable and helpful. They bring the baskets to my car, and if I need any help, they gladly take the recyclables out of my car to put in the baskets, and put in line. Being disabled this makes a huge difference! These men go above and beyond their job duties for me, and I greatly appreciate them

I weighed my cans before going there and knew how much money I was supposed to be getting back. their scales are diffrent and print out a long number that I could not understand. I asked the lady at the window and she could not translate the numbers into lbs. long story short we got ripped off. so I go the self serve recycling center , where its easy ...5 cents for every item.
