Their hours on here say they are open on Sunday. They are not open on Sundays. They should update with the correct information.
They should also work on their customer service skills. They have a very rude demeanor. When they take your items and hand you your ticket they don't say thanks or anything. They also offer no assistance to anyone, including the elderly. I enjoy going to the other recycling place out near Advance Disposal because the man starts helping me with my stuff without my even asking for help. I just feel these A1 people have been rude for so long they don't realize how rude they are.
Try smiling and conversing with people. You seem miserable.
If I can give less stars I would, this place is a rip off, I would stay away from this establishment. I went there twice trying to see if it's worth, I felt ripped off when I drop a full load of metal. (!Stay away from this place!) Save your cans and metals and go somewhere else.
My cousin went there twice and twice the old lady there gave my cousin 12 dollars only. The old lady that works there is rude to my cousin because my cousin is gay. My cousin dress like a guy. But she shouldn't be treated differently. My cousin may not look Hispanic or dress like a girl but she is a person. The old lady that work there has no compassion. What's wrong with you?
Thieves! They do whatever they can to cheat you. Make sure you look at your receipt before you leave, and if you bring any glass, it has to be separated by color, regardless of whether or not it's CRV, otherwise they only give you scrap price ($0.025 per lb vs $0.105 per lb. It may not seem like much, but over 50 lbs it's a lot). They don't advertise any coupons, and half the time they don't even honor their own. Go elsewhere.
They never give you the same amount even though you bring the same amount of bottles and cans in each time how does that work? I think this place should be shut down for sterling from the public. First of all, we pay five cents for every bottle and 10 $.10 for some 15 for us. We get back a penny one penny when I bring in over 10,000 bottles and cans. I should get back $100 and I received $32. What a rip off what a rip off close this place down.
Be careful they try to steal, I always take dirty aluminum, this time the employees said drop of that they pay as steel. So they wanted to pay it at $0.04 it had to be at $0.15. The manager lady wanted us to carry the heavy ones to pay the correct amount. I had to agree at $0.012. watch everything they do. Be careful. They'll give you attitude
This place is a complete scam, shady and not worth it AT ALL. (Don’t come here unless you want to leave depressed) LOL, Honestly I felt more sorry for the employees who could not keep a straight face but smirked the whole time as i got totally ripped off. This is a den of recycling thieves. Once and never again.
This place is just a scam. They give you the wrong pricing for things and just give you the minimum, like an electric motor at the cost of scrap steel. It's a joke. Then they talk behind your back in Spanish, come to their conclusion and say they can't do anything about it because "it's been processed already". They also conveniently change prices at their own whim. Never coming to this recycling center again.
Brought in seven contractor bags full of crushed soda cans. When I rolled the cans, the employee stated that my limit was two carts and the rest would be scrap aluminum. He gave me the receipt and I brought it to the window. The lady at the window called a different worker to disagree with the receipt. They then told me I had to turn it all in as scrap aluminum or go home and re-bag it and return. I tried to tell them if I could just turn in the max two carts and take the rest home for another day. NO!! They told me scrap aluminum or take it all home. Please make it make sense. First they were going to give me $163 then only $50. In the past, this was an easy place to deal with. I won't be coming back here.

I counted out cans and bottles and glass bottles same count each time . And prices are always different always off by $4 or $5 . So whats going on beware of this business.
It's good especially the business hours,I just don't think the pay out is sometimes not worth it,it seems we don't really get the total crv that we pay at the market back,I believe the comedies in general rip us off.
Came in here with expensive copper wire for electrical. They take my ID and get my license plate #, two workers tell me to wait 3 days and they said I'd get $250. I come back 3 days later and get $2.50 . This place is a RIP OFF AND A SCAM NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN AND OUT OF BUSINESS ASAP.
We got there just over an hour before closing. Along with many customers with smaller loads, they processed our 4 tall baskets of aluminum and 4 tall baskets and 2 regular cans of plastic in time for us to leave as they were closing. We were moving fast and so were they. Polite as can be, as well!
The guy that takes the trash somehow slipped my wedding ring off my finger when we were going over which plastic is which. When I drove off I realized what happened and called manager. However they did not try to help me. Please be cautious of this recycling location. There are thieves everywhere be on the look out!
I see why this business has only 3 stars. People be careful with these people, today was the last time they ripped me off. The guy at the scale weighed my plastic and cans, printed the ticket and told me my stuff had glass in it and took 10 % off for contamination. I told him I picked all the glass up but he insisted that he heard glass, n9t that he saw it. He told me it wasn’t much not a big deal. I know I had no glass. He tells that to everyone just to make more money. Be careful people.
We had gone there a couple of times over the last two years and were needing to get rid of more crv recyclables.
I was looking at reviews for them before I went and had seen a few bad reviews. So I thought about checking out another recycling center even though we have had a good track record with them in the past.
The recycling center I was set to go to, turned out to be closed. I then went ahead and went back to A1 because we were close by.
Again this visit was good like the other visits in the past have been so I will continue to go there. Their prices were definitely competitive and the service was great!!!!!!
Be warned! If you have an out-of-state license plate, DO NOT GO HERE! If you have enough recycling to make over $50 and have an out-of-state license plate they will NOT pay you! Your options are to take it all back home or to pay you a "scrap price". my ticket came out to just over $66 and the scrap price was literally 1 cent and they asked me if I wanted to process it. Why in the world would I want to give you $66 worth of recycling for one penny just keep it you wasted my time thank you very much.
Side note, the employees were decently nice and did their jobs well but I am very unsatisfied with my experience and will never go back.
These people are rude. I came to recycle and they had parking blocked off. Ok I had 2 car loads and the lady came up to my face hardly speaking English saying you can't park like that ok ill move she said no im not accepting your recyclables and got in my face. Oh first off big mistake getting in someones face. I asked for a manager and they refused to give me the info. Told me they would call police. Really? Your employee got in my face and because I asked for a manager your calling police wow.....i left called asked for manager and they hung up on me 5 times! This place they look out for the employees and don't want to hear what customers have to say. Also added the girl on phone said my kind is more than welcome to find another recycle place. Really? My kind. No wonder they are behind a mirrored glass probably treat all customers that way!
Only came to this place to recycle scrap metal. We always spend a lot of time to remove all fabrics and plastic attached to the metal and they STILL make excuses to lower the rate. Bad customer service from the young man as well as the older man. They also seem to feel free to hang around on our truck and trailer by leaning and climbing up on our personal property. Almost every time we go we get new punctures in our tires. Needless to say we will not be coming back.
Don't waste your time going to this place. They try to rip you off making every little excuse and being petty about what they can take and won't take, but they are sure willing to pay scrap price for your recycles but turn around and sell them for top dollar for a profit to there buyers. Guy tried to tell me he could only give me scrap price for my aluminum cans because the were dirty with dirt (contaminated) Hello we live in the desert there is dirt every where! Talking to the management didn't help either. Wanda Lopez would not provide me with a second receipt for my refund of my recyclables to provide proof that the weight on my first receipt matched the weight of my refund recyclables. No common courtesy and bad business practices! I just feel sorry for the people that the are ripping off everyday actually need to and depend on collecting recyclables everyday to survive. I'm just thankful I have a job and not depending on money from recyclables. I went down the street to another recycling center and He gave me fill price for all my recyclables and didn't say anything about my aluminum cans bring dirty. So if you can avoid this place do not go there! There crooks and have forgotten the real reason and purpose of recycling. Hello it is to save the planet! Not to get rich by taking advantage of the community we live in.
This place used to be good now they have gone down hill like almost everywhere else in the hi desert. They said they started not accepting cardboard 1 day before I went with a huge amount of cardboard I saved up for 6 months and said "oh, we'll still take it, but we won't pay you for it". They lowered their rates and I received $3 less than I did the first time and brought almost double. The employees were all rude and this one Hispanic employee kept giving me a death stare for absolutely no reason. I will never come here again!
I find that this facility is just competitive as any other facility. Its dishonest people that make it hard for us honest people, it's that simple. A1 prices are just as competitive as any other facility. The staff at any facility is always on guard for dishonest people, filling cans with sand and rocks. This kind of action of dishonest people make it hard for the honest people. So with that being said, just be honest, and have a good character and ask questions. I have NEVER been mistreated at A1 recycling. Dont make it hard for the next individual, JUST BE HONEST and quit trying to CHEAT the system.
The minute we pull in we pull onto the scale and are looking around for someone to let us know where to go and some angry lady tells us pull off the scale and points in a random area for us to unload. The kid who was in that area watched us unload and tells us we close at 3pm I don't know if you'll be able to do your cans and plastic. So we start emptying the bags of cans and plastic into their metal baskets and I had started to push them up to where they weigh them we are trying to finish up when the kid there says its 3pm we're closed I'm going to have to start weighing your stuff so no problem..... but there was a problem the angry lady was emptying the baskets and as she was emptying it she got a little bit of dust blown back at her so she tells the guy in Spanish they have dirt in them. Which wasn't true but okay. We get to the window and ask about the coupon and the girl said that they have it online but the kid says no your cans don't qualify they have to be clean and dry yours had dirt in them. So we didn't get to use the coupon and we only got $1.60 a pound. Total BS don't go here the people are rude and think that just because we may not speak Spanish that we don't understand it either which I do. It's not a good place to go and I won't go back there just saying

Used to frequently recycle here for years. They used to be really good and had the best prices for everything I was bringing in.
These last two times though, I will draw the line. I will no longer come to this facility. They expect your products to be PRISTINE clean. They used to accept any recyclables in different conditions, but now they will try and turn you away for one or two little dirty products. The guys there that do the weighing are very rude and will lower the prices on you. One guy had to "re-do my ticket" even though he had already sorted it all before. It went from almost $200 down to below $100! On top of that, the guys were trying to still take the bottles that were never weighed and they deemed "dirty". I had to speak up and tell them to give me my bottles back or they would have kept them.
Called prior to going the woman that answered the phone was very pleasant and helpful. I have never used them before but they were the only ones open on a Sunday. Arrived and filled two of their large baskets with collected aluminum cans (keep in mind I tore open all the bags). The employees were not pleasant in any sense of the word and actually dug down to find a dirty can, once they did (and it was merely a few sand size pebbles, this is after all the desert)shook the can and instantly announced they were not going to accept them. While I understand that is the right of ANY business to refuse service they were not pleasant about it, in fact they seemed to find enjoyment in it which is even more upsetting. There's no tailgate and here I am with a truck bed full of cans and them snickering. Very unprofessional. I for one will never again visit the establishment nor recommend such a place.
