Don’t bother coming here! I came a few times they don’t show u the weight of the recycles. I brought 5 big bags n gave me $32. I went a different recycle center n brought less bags and I gotten more money $52.
It was my first time recycling at Sunset and the two guys there were very kind. The older gentleman helped me put my cans and bottles in the plastic orange cans. I had Alot of bags to recycle and he didn't think twice before helping me. Great customer service!
Very horrible customer care!!they had a parking space open right next to the unit they work in. They friend pulled out from there so i pulled in. One of the workers rushed out and told me that I can’t park there. Right away he blocked it with mty containers. I found a parking spot on the end of the parking lot. I parked there. I put my cans in a shopping cart and pushed it to them. They refused the service because I put it in a shopping cart. … now I have seen people do that before and they took them, because the dude was they friend. I broke my toe and it’s difficult for me to walk. I even get a ride at work from the security guards, because they know I’m in pain. But it’s not about me now. I was thinking that what they did to me was discrimination against me. This 2 dudes on duty was so extremely rude and if no shopping cart excepted and you can’t park next to the unit with space open then how you take the bags of cans and bottles back? If anyone want to contact me , you are welcome. I’m really thinking to get me a lawyer and sue the place for discrimination. I don’t want any of the money but… I was thinking what about homeless people? Are they turning them away because they life is in the shopping cart??? I felt a strong discrimination from this people. I even took his picture and I’m planning to advertise the bad behavior on social media. Top of the ice on this he rudely told me have a nice day. I work for one of the top 2 carriers in this country….. and this behavior is NOT acceptable how they treated me. Ohhhhhhh and I was kind for them to giving bracelets in my previous visits and they took it. And they have a tip jar to ask people to pay! They not deserve any pay for sure !! Management , look in to this and hire someone who actually can treat people like humans and not like a dirt just because I have a broken toe! Yes I’m extremely angry!!!!

he has an overall irresponsible attitude in general. He approached me as if he is somebody I know. I've been going there for a few years. He has been there probably around a year know. Ive never even said anything about it The entire time I've been having to put up with him. he then thought it funny to include the male who is the actual employee with his version, of which I had to somehow explain myself, and then he started vulgarities and the other man told me I had to leave and never come back. Wow, I've had enough over the year, I don't want to go back! There are other recycler units, like recycle planet and others that are set up the same, in fact that's all sunset is. It makes me wonder if they are the result of laundered money. they don't have a true business standard, it doesn't matter enough, the customers don't matter..ect.
This is not like any other recycle shops in the area. My wait time was less than expected and I got a good return on all of my items. Customer service was on point and was treated nicely. All and all good experience. Thanks.
I came into sunset recycling and it was easy and smooth. The people working at the station made it a breeze to get in and out in less than 10 minutes. I would recommend anybody to come here if they want good fast service.
Wouldn't recommend this place I filled 4 baskets full of cans and and six baskets of plastic to only get $77 dollars I'm sure I didn't get my correct amount, I'm definitely never going there again!
Hi I recycle at this location often. The young lady attendant the last few visits has been nice and really helpful. Its pretty obvious I have back problems and have some of trouble getting around, she's helped me with my recyclables more than once. I will definitely be back.
Elena treated me like a criminal stealing from Sunset Recycling Company. I had my foot near the scale because she didn't come from her Podium to grab our baskets like she should have and I had to do half her job. I've never been treated like this at a recycling center. I would never come back to Sunset Recycling. If Sunset Recycling would like to contact me regarding how unprofessional your Associate Elana treated me please feel free to reach out and respond. She needs to be fired or retrained. Terrible way to treat your customers. I have a complete video footage on my Tesla if anybody would like to see it from corporate how unprofessional and how I was not standing on the scale and that I had to grab the basket and place it on the scale since she couldn't do her job and then started treating me like a criminal.
I'm not a huge fan of the establishment owners attitude towards customers and their complaints. Very childish and unprofessional. I advise others, like I'll be doing, avoid this place at all cost.
The young lady is very polite. She keeps the place looking nice and clean and even asks if i need help organizing my cans and bottles. She even gave me a run down on how everything works and how much every basket weighted. I will definitely be back to this location.
I came down to visit family in Fontana and had taken their recycling to the Fontana location. Was very happy with the customer service and was informed of what material is what. I left with new knowledge of recycling appreciate you guys being here and the place was very clean too
Beware fellow recyclers!!!! When a place like this has this many 1 stars then that should tell you they are not on the up and up!!! There are plenty of good places to go. Sunset Recycling Center, you need new employees who don't steel!!! You won't be here much longer if this continues.
Hi I didn’t even wanna give it a one star. But I had to to get on to complain. I weighed my cans at home and they weighed 20 pounds and my plastic 23pounds. 3 big 33gal bags full of cans and 10 33gal bags full of plastic bottles that’s 43 pounds They weighed it and gave me 7.5 for the cans and 7.75 for the plastic bottles There’s no digital screen to tell you how many pounds are on the scale they only have one to look at and the scale looks 100 years old doesn’t look like it’s ever been calibrated ever or they’re just ripping people off They gave me $25
This place is a rip off! Do not come here, they are pocketing money or something shady is definitely going on. I came here about 6-7 months ago with the same amount of cans and bottles and this time I got paid half of what they paid before.
Wow I just got robbed. I was on my way to recycle at my typical location and I decided to put gas at Costco and noticed that the recycling booth in the Costco parking lot was open so I decided to give them a try.....boy was I wrong!!! I got back 1/3 of what i typically get when I recycle at other locations / never again.
Don't waste your time coming to this recycling center. I wouldn't even give them one star but you have to leave something. They cheat you out of your money. They don't accept certain products. The baskets that you put the recycling in are flimsy. They fall all over you're constantly chasing after your bottles. I had nine of their orange plastic containers filled to the top with clear plastic bottles and I had one a third of the way full with cans and I only received $18 this is a rip off. I go to other recycling plants with less bottles and receive more money. I will not be coming back.
I just went to this place. I read the reviews before i went so i weighed my water bottles and cans before i drove there. Guy said my can weight was half what it was so i called him out about it...he didnt look happy..sayin scale said that weight... He then gave correct weight for the water bottles right after. The same weight i had came up with...well it was close enough...Then gave me the same amount of money as the guy in front of me who had way more water bottles and cans then me. Haa shady place for sure. Be careful everyone.
I have been coming here for a few years. I have always felt the employees were being a little shady. Especially when the amount I received for my recycling always seemed to never match up. Today when I brought my recycling in there were new employees. Looks like they have gottten rid of the shady guys.

weighed the bottles out before . Half is what was paid . They tried to claim it was because of the basket , they should be either putting another basket there to calibrate it or write down how much each basket weighs & write it on that basket . Weigh it yourself in front of them with your own scale to show them the correct weight . You will get thrown all kinds of reasons why it’s not the same ! This place needs new management & actual workers that don’t steal from people
Went here about 2 months ago. I had been saving up cans, glass, etc for about 3-4 months. I haven't recycled in years so I didn't know you don't really get the price on each container. You don't know what you don't know, so that's my fault I guess. But I had about 4 bags of aluminum and 1 of glass and I got $5 and some change back. I was pretty shocked. I was about to leave but turned around cus it was bothering me, so I asked how it works. They said if I counted exactly 100 cans then I would get a certain amount (can't remember how much $$ he said), but they only allow you to do that for 1 bag. After that it's only weight based. Would've been nice to know that beforehand but I guess that's how they keep their money. I would never go back even though it's closest to my house. SA Recycling on Arrow Blvd. is further but has way better reviews, and I'd rather make the drive than feel like I'm getting cheated.
I have used this site twice. They refused to give me a receipt. I weighed my bottles and cans before I went there. They said the weight was off between 5 and 8 lbs. Said I had too many water bottles and that is why the weight was less. Dishonest for sure.
Short Review: They will cheat you on weight (my payout was $2-3 less than at more reputable places for similar baskets of recyclables). Worker was rude and seemed to be egging on for an excuse to fight me and/or withhold my money. I didn’t bite, but I’m never coming back — I’ll stick to my usual recycling and places (which were closed this Sunday). My mistake to come here.
Okay here is the longer vent w/details
The skinny young guy working there is shady. 1st Red flag was that I shouldn’t use an overflow basket because there weren’t enough bottles to register the weight — wait, what?
Also, I didn’t notice that a 2nd worker whisked away my baskets before I could see confirm the weight of each basket.
The guy also suggested we individually count the bottles in the “too light to weigh” basket, runs his hands through the basket and counts 30 — when we removed and recounted it turned out to be 40. He called my count a lie, when I suggest we count together a 3rd time he refuses.
The last straw was when I gave skinny guy change to round up to the next dollar. He drops two of the pennies, accuses me of chucking the coins at him and glares at me, withholding the money. I just waited his tantrum out — I didn’t know if he wanted an excuse to keep my cash or to egg me into a fight. Eventually he gave me the money.
The l will stick to my usual recycling venues. Lesson learned.

Went and as he weighed we saw the numbers for the Cans. One was 16.3 the other weighed 4.7. He gave us a ticket that said 15.5. The baskets are 1.9. Math didn't add up. Then the glass was 76.5 and the can it was in was 11. He gave us a ticket of 48. He was legitimately cheating us out of our money. Be aware and write down your weights as they are weighing them.
I call ahead to ask if they accept milk gallons. The guy said yes but he never told me they dont pay out for them. So it was annoying cuz i had everything perpare and then i had to put back into my car. But either then that the guy was nice and friendly. I just wish they give you a receipt like every other recycling place does.
I had initially got to the recycling center just before the guy was closing up to go on his 30 mins break. I told him I'd be back in 30 mins then. Its been 45 mins from when he was supposed to be back from his break. Not a good experience and won't come back.
Today I went to sunset recycling center, I put my bottles in 3 containers. The gentleman weighed them on was 13lbs, 11lbs, 8lbs. The theif handed me my ticket it was only for 23lb. I said you amount is incorrect it should be 32lbs. He said oh my number 2 on his calculator sticks.... I laughed and said what does that have to do with my numbers. Be careful when you go here or check your weigh cause I believe they are skimming off your tickets. I won’t be going back there!!
