My wife paid for a repair that was done incorrectly and caused car to have check engine light. They took it off and checked for leaks (no leak) and convinced my wife that it was just because there wasn’t enough fuel in the car and that the issue isn’t the catalytic converter. Now that we have to smog the car, we’re diving back into it and it’s clear the converter either was not installed correctly, is faulty, or was the incorrect part entirely. Now that it’s past the 6 month warranty, this shop wants nothing to do with it, which is legally justifiable, but means they don’t do work correctly and will just convince you the issue is something else when you come back in. A reputable business doesn’t operate like this, and now we will have to spend money to have the same repair done for a second time, which is insane. Take your business somewhere that stands by their work/product and cares about their customers as these expenses are a big deal for customers. It will save you headaches, frustrations, and likely thousands of dollars.
