I purchased a used transmission that had to be removed from a car at Specialized German Recycling. After sleeping on it, I decided I really didn’t want to spend that much for the repair of my vehicle (part was reasonably priced but the part plus labor was too much). I called Mel the next day and expected a lot of hassle, maybe a charge for a return, etc. He said no problem, I’ll refund your credit card and if you change your mind let me know. The radiator on my bmw had cracked while commuting to San Jose. I tried calling around to different dealerships and stores in SJ with no luck of finding the part. Stranded a 100 miles away from home, I started calling stores in Rancho knowing that we have lots of recyclers. The guy who helped me at Specialized German was awesome. Not only did he have the part, he did what he could to help me including getting it delivered SAME DAY! Of course I paid for the delivery but in my opinion it was a fair fee for same day 100 miles away. Whoever the guy was earned me as a customer for life. I will always call these guys first for my parts needs.
These guys are super solid and reliable with very fair pricing and great shipping (and packing). I bought one thing from them and had to return it, they took it back without hassle and provided a full refund. I'll continue to purchase parts from them. Bob is a man of his word.

I purchased a hood and two fenders from Specialized German for a Porsche project. I am from out of state, so I was not able to view the parts before purchase (which was risky since I was hoping for clean parts that I would not have to repaint before installation). Bob and the team were easy to work with and very accommodating to my incessant questions and requests for photos, etc.... Best of all, the parts arrived perfectly packaged and protected, and the condition greatly exceeded my expectations. I very much appreciated the care and attention to detail they exhibited, even though I'm sure I was a pain leading up to the purchase. I purchased a Porsche engine in June of this year. They shipped it within 2 weeks promising that it was guaranteed and checked to be in good working condition. My mechanic installed the engine, and within one minute it started to smoke and make a loud ticking noise. I contacted German recycling and they said to ship it back. After about a month they said the engine could not be repaired. I am out a lot of money for the installation and then removal of the engine, and the car sitting on a hoist for months. The worst experience I ever had with any company I ever dealt with. To date I have not heard back.
I've been doing all my auto repairs since 1963, bought a lot of parts. Several years ago I decided to buy a 2004 BMW because I wanted to be able to work on independent of shops. I have contacted this business by phone and numerous email to ask for return information on a part I ordered. They have responded with asking why? (it was the wrong part) and invoice number ? which was provided in each email I sent them for the return information needed. They have conveniently not responded with the information. I am guessing its because they probably have a 30 day return policy in which they do NOT want to honor my request, which has been way before the 30 days. I would think twice ordering from this business.

I called the auto recycler direct, was able to get a quote on two parts very quickly, and at prices that can’t be beat anywhere else. Though they were quite busy on a Monday morning, they were able to get me out of there within 10 min tops. I highly recommend them for your used, like new, car parts for BMW.

Went in looking for a somewhat hard to find M tech steering wheel, Toby took me to the yard to find one, found one out of a 540, he had it out in minutes and I got the steering wheel I wanted, good customer service and I will be back for more for my other bmws after seeing what they have, good selection of all German cars and parts!

He got me a low miles BMW transmission and shipped it to the East Coast for me in record time keeping me informed the entire way. I later figured out my control module was damaged as well so he quickly followed up sending one of those as well. These guys can get you what you need to matter where you are in the US and they are honest and straightforward. A pleasure to deal with.
I bought a differential from here today. It was listed for $350. I drove from a ways away so I had been in touch with them beforehand. They asked me to call an hour ahead so they could get the differential ready for me, which I did. My wait was only about 20 minutes, and to my surprise they showed me the differential open so I could inspect its insides. They were clean. No metal shavings, no scoring. I waited another 10 minutes while they sealed it back up for me, and even provided a box for it so I wouldn't get any gear oil spilled in my trunk. I went to check out, and they charged me $300 including tax. Awesome place, highly recommend.
Great deal on a classic S4 wheelset with new(ish) tires. Would be great if you could browse their inventory like Pick'n'pull though, I probably would've bought more stuff.
