I had a great experience with my SMOG test here! The service was very fast and efficient. Scheduling an appointment was easy, and when I needed to reschedule, it was handled without any issues. I really appreciate how smooth the whole process was. They also automatically send the report to the DMV, which makes everything even more convenient. Highly recommend this place!
Used to take my dad's Honda CRV there for service but quit after he died. They always did great work, but I took my car to the dealer for repairs. They always upsold hard, and I'd spend $1,200 when all I wanted was tires rotated. Went back to Folsom Autotech recently by making an easy online appointment because my dashboard light was on. I thought it might be something big at 104,000 miles, but I just needed an oil change. No hard upsell for additional preventive maintenance, which I appreciated. Didn't have to wait long for the shuttle service either trip. They've always done honest, excellent work. I'll be going back.
Do not take your car here. They charged me for parts that they did not install. when I called to resolve it, the manager got hostile and defensive, Blamed me for the problems and then blamed other shops that found the problems. then hung up on me. Rude, unprofessional.
Great place to trust your automobile work... The front desk folks, Jim, Ron and Melanie are friendly and always helpful... The rest of the crew are technically capable, honest, reliable, and friendly as well... They do great work in a timely manner... As others have said, it's my "go to" place for auto repair...
I can not say enough about the team at Folsom Autotech. I have been coming here for over 10 years. They have provided us great advice and service extending the life of our cars. I truly feel they have always provided their service at a fair price and have never felt pushed to do more than what was needed or over charged. I have recommended them to all my family and friends who have also been very happy.

I have taken both my vehicles here in the last 2 to 3 years and have received nothing but top quality hands-down. Best service to this date. These guys know what they’re doing and it gets done right. I have worked with Ron several times on my vehicles and he’s honest and communicates well. Makes you feel comfortable for bringing your vehicle here. Always available to chat about issues or problems with your vehicles so he gets the full details about what might need to be done to your vehicles. It’s just a great experience to have a mechanic make you feel comfortable for bringing all of your vehicles to be repaired at their shop. Much recommended for anyone. This shop is TOP NOTCH. They provide an excellent, affordable, reliable service every time. They did three pretty big procedures in about a half a day. I had been very faithful to another shop but they just had way too many people in their family that they were trying to provide wages for. Their prices were astronomical. Folsom Autotech has been doing this a very long time and their prices are very competitive and extremely dependable.
Jim, Ron, and the rest of the crew at Folsom Autotech did a great job for me again. I’ve been taking my vehicles to them for over 20 years, and have never been disappointed. This time it was an evaporative system leak, which would keep my car from passing a smog test. It turned out to be a fairly major job because they had to pull the gas tank in order to replace a cracked fuel transfer pump near the top of the gas tank. After the repair, my car passed the smog test and continues to run fine. I plan to keep taking my vehicles to Folsom Autotech as long as there are parts available to repair them.

I usually do my own work, so I know material costs and time on jobs but getting older and a recent back injury have made working on my trucks painful.
I have only had 2 vehicles at autotech, both for major services ( timing belts all fluids and belts and a thorough look over and inspection, I drive off road in nevada a lot ) any recommendations for additional service made sense, and were almost expected, I feel like I'm dealing with a good crew of professional people who know their stuff, and care about their customers safety.

Unfortunately, they treat foreigners poorly. When I arrived for my appointment, they told me that the car would be diagnosed not in an hour, as they had previously promised, but in 5 hours or more. This changed my plans. Then I asked to reschedule for another day, but they started giving me excuses like, ‘We’re closed on other days,’ ‘We’re busy,’ and so on. In the end, they suggested I go to other car repair companies. I didn’t understand anything; they simply didn’t want to serve me and sent me somewhere else
Folsom Autotech is my go to for my families vehicle services. They always do a great job at a very reasonable price. The household vehicles have been going to folsom Autotech for over 8 years, and will continue to.

i’ve been bringing my cars here for over 30 years (i’ve probably left previous reviews too). they’re friendly, helpful, straight-shooting, competent folks that keep my cars maintained. i trust them to do the right things, and do them well.
Fast, fair and friendly. Reasonable prices, quality work. I have an older truck, and the guys at Folsom Autotech are helping to keep it on the road and running good. Very satisfied with the overall experience.
Bit expensive(what isn’t anyways?), but these are legit pros who know what they’re doing. Diagnosed failing alternator and replaced quickly, even printed out the tests they ran. Good warranty too. Great job.

I've been a customer of Folsom Auto Tech for over a decade, and I haven't found a more competent, transparent and effective service for my vehicles than Jim & Ron's. My plan is to continue doing business here for as long as they are available.
This place is amazing. I really wish I would've tried this place before the other guys. Took my car to 3 other big name car repair places each claiming a different reason for why they couldn't help me. One even saying that the item I need is special order only and can only be procured through a dealer. False. I simply needed a battery change...
Took Folsom Auto 30 minutes to complete. Not only that, I payed about half what the other guys wanted to charge.
I received top notch service with Folsom Autotech. We were greeted warmly immediately by staff member Ron. An indicator light came on my dashboard and didn’t know what it meant. Folsom Autotech rest assured me that they would look into what the problem was. They ran diagnostic tests and couldn’t find anything wrong with it. I was relieved of course. This was my first time here as my warranty had just ran out and I was looking for a new mechanic. After this great experience, I will be back. My husband said he’ll be bringing his truck here in the future as well. Thank you Folsom Autotech!
I brought my vehicle here to have the A/C system replaced in 2021. Every since they worked on my vehicle I have had non-stop problems with my A/C. I've had to bring my truck back several times because of errors they made. They assured me that if I had more A/C issues, that they would be willing to fix it because they were aware A/C units are only utilized certain times of the year and it would be hard to gauge the problem in a short period of time after each fix. I am experiencing more A/C problems again, so I went in there today to have them look at it and they refused to work on my vehicle because they said it's outside of the warranty. But they never fixed it right in the first place. The owners and employees are very cocky and rude. They basically stole $2300.00 from me. The parts and labor are extremely overpriced. I suggest you do not get your vehicle fixed here, or you'll be dealing with cocky men that have no moral compass, as well as they are willing to make money at your expense.
My wife’s car suddenly was losing power and couldn’t drive it. We had it towed to Folsom and Autotech where they found the problem and fixed it immediately. Jim and his crew were awesome as I was out of town and could not handle everything. They stayed in touch with my wife throughout the process I am very grateful for their support. Would highly recommend going there for any and all maintenance or issues.
Earlier this year, I had my catalytic convertor stolen on one of my vehicles and wanted to try to do something to hopefully prevent it from happening again. Recently, I learned about a City of Folsom Police Department and local autoshop cooperative effort called The Etch and Catch Program designed to etch/mark your vehicle's catalytic converter with your license plate ID to make it less desirable to target, steal, and recycle. Folsom Autotech is one of several local shops participating in the program. It is free of charge and is something I encourage you all to have done on your post-1975 cars with cats. I called them up to inquire and they were able to get in two of my vehicles; a 1986 VW Vanagon Syncro 4WD and a 1982 VW Vanagon L Campmobile later that day. I was pleased as all get out that they were able to fit me in so quickly. Front office staff and mechanics were very friendly and customer service oriented and I was in-n-out in less than an hour for both of my vans; Wow! Their service prices were shown on a digital marquee board in the front office-waiting area and they appear to be quite reasonable. Also, they have some really cool historic photos of Folsom from "back in the day" that are fun to check out. Will definitely use Folsom Autotech again for future auto repair work and you should consider them too!
