My mom’s car was impounded from an incident and while we were trying to release it the middle aged lady with the tattoos was extremely rude and dismissive the entire time. When it came to paying the fee we had no issue paying for it but when she was telling us about the policy of the registered owner needing to be on the credit card holder name or we can use cash, she was giving us even more of an attitude. When I tried to make sense of the policy and ask more questions, she was dismissing us even more. I didn’t bother to argue or be rude so I just told her I’ll go grab some cash. When we returned she then told me she doesn’t want to be courteous to me anymore. Her exact words, and that I need to wait outside so I did. Then when I was finally waiting outside like she said, she was now saying I was trespassing, even though she said I can wait where I was standing.
My driver was Mr M. I just want to say Thank you for being punctual and so helpful, making sure the dealership and the tire store understood what happened to my vehicle and what I needed help with. You went above and beyond and I fully appreciate your assistance and attentiveness.

The elderly woman who “helped” us was genuinely awful. She talks over you, is rude and has the worst attitude when dealing with respectful people. Being nice to her was a mistake. She charged $702 to get the car back that had not stayed a full 24 hours. She lied about allowing us to get registration from car for a fee and then said could not let us but did not give a reason. Also claimed car was not able to be driven for NO REASON. Car was totally fine. Made this a big, unnecessary and stressful situation. I hope this company rots, you guys should be ashamed of yourselves. Learn how to run a respectable business and stop treating everyone rudely. WE ARE NOT ALL WE THE SAME.

I would to to Folsom Lake Towing Response to my review. You do not follow California Laws! California Vehicle Code § 22658 (2023) The storage facility shall not require any documents to be notarized.
Something definitely needs to be done re: the secretary at this business. My friends vehicle was impounded and he was taken to jail. We called Folsom lake tow and told them we wanted to pick up the vehicle or at the least pick up our friends personal belongings. She told us that we had to get a notarized document from the registered owner. (California Vehicle Code § 22658 (2023) The storage facility shall not require any documents to be notarized.) It is extremely difficult to do when someone is in jail. While we were waiting for this to happen, we remained in contact with the secretary. In the meantime an attorney friend told us that the tow company cannot require a document that all we needed was a letter of authorization. I told the secretary this and she yelled at me and hung up. I called her back a couple days later and said we were picking up my friends belongings and she said they sold his vehicle and disposed of his sentimental personal belongings. I said to her, "Your are something else." She responded with cuss words. I immediately wrote a review telling the truth and how this company violates California state laws and the secretary threatens me and tried to intimidate me in removing my review. Further more she has abused her position by locating my place of employment. She has called and harassed my phone. Contacted my employer and harassed her.
Something is definitely off with this woman.
I do not recommend this company. They sold the vehicle before 30 days was up and stole my friends belongings. We specifically told them that my friends, moms ashes were in his vehicle and we needed to at least pick up the ashes.
If they had followed the law like every other tow place. LETTER OF AUTHORIZATION. We could have got our friends moms ashes.
Threatening me is not going to work. My friend will be released soon and he has already spoke with an attorney. What you did is a crime.
They have got away with this for far to long and I have contacted the appropriate authorities with a formal maintenance.

It was my birthday and I broke down. Sucked to put it mildly. When I called the office the woman I spoke to was one of the nicest people I think I've ever talked to. They were too busy to wait for that day but I will never forget about them if I have the need again because of the way I was treated when I called. That gal deserves a raise and job security if not already in place. She is a rare find these days.
The absolute worst experience I’ve ever had at a tow yard. They will make it as difficult as they can for you to get your vehicle so they can profit. My vehicle was involved in an accident and towed to their yard, came in the next morning to get my work phone and credit cards from my vehicle, she told me I needed my registration, My renewal notice was in my vehicle she said it wasn’t good enough and that I’d have to come back with the actual copy, before I left she was sure to let me know they were closed from 12pm until 1pm so I was sure to make it back at 11:50am plenty of time to get the few essential items I needed…but according to her 10 minutes wasn’t enough time to get 2 things from my car.. so she made me wait. I come back at 1:30 with the copy that she made me go back and get and guess what!?? NOPE Since my registration expired she will not let me get anything of mine out of the vehicle that I’m clearly the registered owner of. The absolute worst people I’ve ever dealt with flat out rude, selfish, difficult just in general a terrible person. Save yourself and learn from the majority of people who’ve had to deal with the same nightmare, stay away. I think we should celebrate when this place closes down for being so shady, hopefully sooner than later
I had a flat tire on the highway and the CHP called these guys. They charged me $198 to tow me less than a mile away to the tire shop. I was not told how much the tow would be until we arrived to the destination. They then upped the price to $268 when I told them I had to call my daughter to bring my debit card. I should’ve known it was BS when I asked the price and she hesitated to tell me AFTER the fact.
The lady was extremely rude and not helpful. I’ve been towed off the freeway before and I’ve never had an experience such as this one. PLEASE STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS THEY ARE LITERAL HUSSLERS. Too bad I can’t give a review that’s less than 1
I was stunned at the politeness of these folks. My only other experience with a tow yard was a nightmare -- not so here. At the end of the day, I was still responsible for some fees, but the staff was so pleasant, patient to explain things to me, and very reasonable. Generally, the experience far exceeded my expectations. Thank you!
Recently had an accident on the Folsom bridge, needed a tow 1.2 miles to Tony's Personal Auto Care. A police officer told me I was looking at about $100 for the tow and made the call. They man towed the car without asking any questions. The car was unloaded at the mechanic shop within 30 minutes of the original call. The driver charged me $180 without having first given me a cost. Because I accepted service before asking the price, I was obliged to pay it. That was my first terrible experience.
My second experience was when the owner of the Auto shop informed me that he had a deal with the same company to perform $75 tows from his shop to nearby locations. I called up and mentioned this to the receptionist at Folsom Lake towing and she told me that they aren't doing that deal anymore and that it would be $90. I asked her if the owner of the auto shop was aware of this and she said yes. I asked her if she informed him since this morning when he gave me the reference and she said yes. I told her I would investigate some other options and call back. I called back and another man picked up (I believe it was the man who towed me in experience 1). He told me that it would be $120 to tow the car. I told him that the secretary had just quoted me $90. He put me on hold and then came back and said that she was wrong it should be $120 for a 3.3 mile tow. I told him that I was tired of the lies and confusion and that I would rather look for another option.
Terrible customer service. They are hustlers. DO NOT USE AT ALL COSTS. I promise you you will have a bad time! They are dishonest and take advantage of people in difficult situations.
These folks man... I learned that hardway so you don't have to.. assuming you check reviews.
- they are closed on Federal Holidays, and will add another day to your pick up.
- Few people on site to help and they are rude. The lady in the office didn't know how to process picking up a car. Get this, there's an older guy with a beard walking around who also cannot help. Both of these people told us that the people who were supposed to help us were on lunch. When the supposed lunch time ended, it was the same people who ended up helping us.
- There are two companies on site, so make sure you are reaching out to the towing company and not the plumbing company. The plumbing company cannot help you
- Get their number and call them before you get there. The lunches are unpredictable, and you don't want to be met by these people who are rude and don't know what's going on.
TLDR: call first, make sure someone is there to help and not on lunch. Don't go on a holiday.
Questions about how a bill breakdown should be a quick and easy reply, an hourly rate has nothing to do with the make/model/how it was towed, unless clearly broken down on a detailed receipt. The more you know. There was also no need to open my OBD port and pop my hood to run diagnostics, it was confirmed to me that the port wasn't tampered with upon release to you, if this wasn't done by staff then please secure vehicles taken in by your agency - my vehicle information was not even written on your white board as even being in your yard.
Poor customer service. Rude employees. Unhelpful as the day is long.
UPDATE:
Car was parked (not abandoned. Not wrecked) in a regular parking lot. No signage indicating it was a no parking/tow away zone. Some signage in other areas of the lot indicated after 5pm it was parking for the restaurant/bar. Car was gone when we went back at 4:55. Apparently, the wall adjacent to the parking space was a camouflaged door. No signage indicating it was a doorway to be kept clear.
I can't say enough nice things about Mike from Folsom Lake Towing. He came to the rescue when my mom and daughter were stranded after a hit and run accident. Not only was he there within 5 minutes but he helped calm them down, got them out of the rain and made sure they were safe. He towed them somewhere safe and waited with them until I got there. Outstanding customer service. I highly recommend them.
If you want to save time, money, and have a job done right, call them! They know what they're doing.
I had a trailer that broke in half at about 40mph sending my boat down the side of the road. They helped when no one else would, and for a good price. Marty went out of his way to find me a used trailer from their yard. The knowledgeable, experienced staff and friends who work there were great and made a seemingly impossible job take only a few minutes. I left with good advice on boat fiberglass repair, a new trailer, and as happy as I could be knowing that this day could have been very costly if it weren't for them. They were great.
Absolute worst! The only reason this place is still in business is because they have a contract with the police department in Folsom. This place does not care about your vehicle and does not care about your property. I got into an accident and was referred to call them by the cops so that's what I did and they showed up super in a hurry and backed into my car breaking my grill. I have been trying to file a claim with them through their insurance but they keep giving me the runaround. Every time I call it's just another excuse as to why they aren't trying to be accountable for damages they made to my car. If you get in an accident in Folsom please make it a point to call another tow company because they may actually care about your property. Thanks for nothing Folsom lake tow! All you guys did was add more damages to my car!
Owner is extremely nice. Always offers help whenever I'm picking up a car from them. She definitely gives off that motherly vibe haha. Would definitely use them as a tow if I ever needed.
Mike came to our rescue tonight because we locked our keys in the car. We were alone in the dark at night at the dog park, and we called him and he was there in less than 10 minutes. Mike is great!!! I put him in my iPhone in case anyone needs a tow or any help in the future!.

Charged me $360.00 after picking up my car from my apartment and having it in the yard for one night. Most obscene price ever! I am a single mother and that is one week of work for me!
Got my bike towed here after a PD encounter. Nice people, understanding of the situation, motorcycle was handled nicely from towing. Expensive to get out, but it was anticipated for what it is.
Great service with great rates. I always try to use local businesses and this is why, very prompt and friendly. I will definitely use them again if I'm in need of a tow.
Misery profit. When my son had his accident they charged me $400 for a couple mile tow plus almost $50/day for storage until I found someone to buy the car. Avoid these guys.
This place was great on time efficient and did everything they could to keep me happy. The owner is very professional and funny as well. I recommend them every time
