We had so much plastic and cans that we rented a U-Haul. We first went to another recycling place but they turned us away because the plates were from out of state. So we drove to this place and began to unload.
There were plenty of bins, and the guys were nice. It took me about 1hr and 20 minutes to separate cans from plastic.
But I can't help but feel that we were taken advantage of. We didn't get nearly as much as we normally get at other centers.
In fact, by the time we returned the U-Haul, we realized that we'd only broken even.
I was glad to finally get rid of all that stuff (we usually load a U-Haul truck once a year), but we decided not to go there again.
Good place if you want to drop off your recycling quick. Has plenty of bins for large drop-offs. It's just that the employee there didn't seem very friendly and the whole place feels very shady more than usual. It seemed that the employee didn't want to interact with the customer and just wanted to get the job over. The current crv rate is 1.68 per lb, and the weight on the sticky note they used as a makeshift receipt says the aluminum is 18.48 lbs. 1.68 x 18.48 = 31.0468. Aluminum alone should have been $31.05. I had plastic and glass too. They gave me about $27
Worst place to go, weight my items before and only got half, I was in a rush to get rid so I left them. Never going back.
Also noticed that the only 4-5 star reviews are from local guide’s reviewers, paid review!
Today we were deceived by a man this is a terrible place the scales show the wrong weight!!! do not recommend! in all normal places they gave a receipt, Here- nothing
There are numerous garbage cans where you can separate your bottles and cans. When I visit, employees are usually friendly and the service is always swift. Because bottles don't need to be segregated by color, I can finish much more quickly than at other recycling centers. I wouldn't go somewhere else to work for money! On Greenback, it is close to I-80, making it simple to travel there and back after you're finished. Yay!
The staff here is excellent. The man went above and beyond even staying after hours to help a customer in a desperate financial bind. I'm so glad he helped me the other day a few weeks back. It allowed me to make into work the next day, and I had enough for lunch too. Thank you so much, Rai Recycling.
Online it says open till 4:30pm. I got there 4:05pm. The sign outside says 4:30pm. But was told they close at 4:00pm. Make the necessary changes so we don't waste our time.
Great staff, very helpful easy access off Auburn blvd & Greenback. Big parking lot loads of room to unload. They conveniently provide plastic bins to put recyclables in, everything should be sorted including by glass color.
Also open Saturdays until 4:30 pm.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! I counted and placed 200 Kirkland (all were 16.9 oz each) water bottles in a trash bag. The guy told me that they only count "50" and weigh the rest. CA law is 5 cents for water bottles under 24 ounces. $0.05 x 200= 10 dollars. They wanted to offer me 5 bucks, I took my recyclables and left.
Couldn't recommend coming to this place as the area is also very sketchy and looks unsafe. I'd recommend going to a recyclables in Lincoln as it is a lot more fair.
This is the worst recyclable place I have ever been to. I had a full garbage can of crushed aluminum cans and they gave me $18 for the whole thing! I have always received more from other places! :(
I was turned away by the worker at 4:14 and was told it was closed, even though no one was in line. She then helped a guy that parked after me. This place is convenient because of how close it is. But it must be hit or miss depending on who’s working.
I had sorted my recycle at home. Cans. #1 plastics. #2 plastics. Clear glass. Brown glass. Green glass. Rai Recycling has Rubbermaid-like garbage cans stacked. Grab a can for each type of recyclable items. They weigh your recyclables and pay you accordingly.
I'm new to recycling found this place on Google maps. It was closest and just after the McDonald's and the self car wash. The guy who works the place is cool he appreciated how crushed my plastic bottles were lol. I will be a regular.
Got scammed at this location big time more than once pounds were off on aluminum with the tear weight and plastics as well I am calling the state recycling code office to file another complaint about this location. Low life tweakers and scam artists working the recycling center I waited my aluminum and my plastic and my type three containers and was not what I came up with I weighed my stuff out on three different scales which were all in point two of each other but I was docked from this recycling center by point six a per pound
Once was enough. I didn't feel like we were paid fairly for what we dropped off and they act shady. We didn't get a receipt indicating the weight of our cans and bottles and they're super impolite. Even if you greet them, they say nothing in return. Actually, I feel more like once was a mistake but I learned my lesson.
I had exactly $20 of recyclables return to me after giving the money back as a test at another recycling center in Southland Park without my type 3 plastic I get to Rai recycling near greenback and Auburn boulevard wait up my recyclables with my type 3 plastic and only got $11 and some change this is going to be investigated with the California recycling laws and administration
Not impressed at all with this place had three full trash cans of plastic bottles got 10 bucks I've gotten paid double that at other places I do not consider this place honest. They didn't write down the amount for trash can at all not one bit and it looks like they have a huge population of drug addicts too.
Plenty of trash bins available to separate your cans and bottles. Workers have always been kind when I go and service has always been very quick! Bottles don't have to be separated by color so I am done much faster than at other recycling facilities. I wouldn't go any other place to get paid! It is right next to I-80 on Greenback so it is easy to hit the freeway and go home when you're done! Yay!
