I recently brought my car to Silver Star Motors for some maintenance, and while the experience wasn’t bad, there are a few areas where they could improve. First, the inspection process seemed a bit lacking in detail. They didn’t provide enough photos or in-depth information on the vehicle's condition, especially when it came to safety checks. I would have appreciated a more thorough breakdown of the work that needed to be done or that had been completed.
On the positive side, the shop was clean, and we did notice staff mopping at the beginning of the day, which gave a good impression of their upkeep. The lot is filled with Mercedes, though it’s worth noting that many of these cars look like they’ve been sitting there for years, which might be a red flag for some.
Overall, the experience was okay, but I’m unsure if I’ll return. The lack of detailed communication and transparency about the work left me a bit uncertain. That said, I might give them another shot in the future—only time will tell.
Great place did exactly what i asked them to do and told me whats wrong with my vehicle so i can fix it i usually DIY everything with my vehicles but needed their help this time and got what i was looking for. Will definitely come back.
The service division is likewise outstanding. It was simple to schedule a maintenance check, and the professionals were thorough, timely, and efficient. Silver Star Motors clearly places a high premium on customer service, and I heartily suggest them to anyone searching for a premium car with outstanding service to go along with it. Without a doubt, I'll be back for more purchases and maintenance requirements!
Have three Mercedes. I take all of them to Silver Star. Cheaper than dealerships and John( the owner) is passionate about the brand. Been in business since 1981. Only downside is waiting area if you wait for your car.
It was awhile ago that I had taken my SL550 with several problems that needed repaired and had really not been looking forward to what I was up against. They were very honest and were able to accomplish everything at much less cost than I thought it would be. They had my car done within less time than I thought it would take also and it was such a relief to have finally gotten everything taken care of. I highly recommend this company and this will be my go to place for service and repair.
I was very happy with the care from Silver Star Motors. I couldn't believe, I broke down on Friday at 1pm, but even though John said they were full up. He said bring it in. Then the miracle. 4 hours later it was fixed and at a reasonable price. I thought I wouldn't see the car for 4 days or more. Your shop is Amazing. Thank you very much quick and courteous service. I tell all my Friends with Mercedes they couldn't find a better place to have their car worked on.
My car came in for a full diagnostic. Needed to scan/read codes. The Never gave me the codes they have erased them. Charged me pretty big price just for a few sentences of what they ASSUMED COULD HAVE BEEN with my car. Quoted 10k for repair, which actually was just a bad fuel pump that was 40$.
I went in a couple of weeks ago for an oil change and a transmission service. They overfilled my oil so much that the warning light came on. The only positive part of my experience is that they drained the excess oil the same day.
A couple days later my transmission began slipping when the engine was cold and sent my Sprinter into limp mode. I took it to the dealership and found out Silver Star was short two quarts filling my transmission fluid.
When I called them about the transmission fluid they insisted that it couldn't have been their fault. However the transmission issue went away as soon as it was properly filled at the dealership.
My Wife and I were blessed to have discovered John and his expertise and his state of the art mechanics at Silver Star Motor many years ago. This last visit a couple of days ago for repairs to my Wife's Classic 1975 Mercedes Benz was as always a very pleasant and dependable experience. We have never received anything from John and Staff at Silver Star Motors except courtesy professionalism excellent workmanship and fair and affordable labor rates.

Judging by the way they write, these 1 star reviewers are mentally challenged. Do not listen to them. I have been bringing my cars to Silver Star for years. Their rates are completely fair. They're so thorough and fast. They'll save you a lot of money just because they'll have the job done right, and finished in half the time of a good Mercedes mechanic. The local Mercedes dealerships call John when they can't figure out certain mechanical problems. These guys are the absolute best.
Silver star motors is the best Mercedes Benz automobile shop for my car. John and his staff are exceptional mechanics. Their attention to every detail makes them stand out from the rest.
Great shop! Brought in my cls550 with whole bunch of problems. John explained what the problems are, what needs to be fixed as a priority. My car has been fixed. Now I Call the shop with every little question I have and they always take time to talk to me. Two thumbs up!

Silver Star motors is the best! John the owner and crew are so knowledgeable. Helpful and honest that I would never think to take my Mercedes anywhere else! John saved me 3,800,00 by letting me know that the problem that I had with my car (fuel system gasoline tank and fuel filters was most likely covered by Mercedes and had me tow it there. John was right and literally saved me 3.800.00 by having Mercedes do the work when he could've easily done the work and made a lot of money. Bar none, John, you are by far the best of the best! Horrible experience with silver star motors. I've had my car there close to 2 months and they never even looked at the car or worked on it. The owner kept making excuses and was belittling my car, I would have to call every week for an update since they would never call me. He would call my car junk so why did you even take it to work on it?? Overall bad experience and John was very rude and unprofessional. I had to take my car out myself because no work was getting done on it at all.
Scam artists. Will charge you 4X what the parts normally cost (Mercedes genuine compared) and will quote you 3-6X longer that what the labor hours would actually be. You will leave this place having payed almost twice what it should cost. And from other reviews I’m reading I’m starting to agree that that might very quite possibly be sabotaging parts on your car to bring you back in for more work. Didn’t have current issue with my car till right after I had just got it serviced by them.
John has had this shop for at least 25 years. He knows Mercedes-Benz better than the dealer it seems. If you own a Mercedes-Benz, you should take your car to John and his knowledgeable staff. And the price is right!
This is my first review but my experience with Silver Star was so exemplary, people need to know!
Okay, if you own a Mercedes, you know that they can be expensive to maintain.
I had an issue with my window not rolling up all the way. In my mind, I am thinking it must be the motor, a solenoid, etc. that equals hundreds of dollars plus my time to bring it in to be repaired.
I called Silver Star for the first time as I live in the neighborhood. I met with John and he suggested that the repair "might be a memory issue". He spent about 5 minutes and the problem was resolved - WOW!!
All that he charged me was a solid hand shake and have a great day!
#1: Honesty: John just repaired it without writing up a billable diagnosis!
#2: Knowledge - He knew the potential issue and resolved it ASAP.
In a world full of mechanics that will push for repairs, I can tell you that Silver Star has my business from now on.

Mechanic that truly knows what he’s doing when it comes to Mercedes. Fix my programming for the command system.. Most repair shops say they can handle Mercedes but never the ECU Programming aspect. Silver Star is definitely my go to shop for my Benz needs when everywhere else says go to the Manufacturer.
I took my 1972 mercedes 450sl to John in November of 2020 and gave him a list of things to repair. Well on Febuary 23 2022 I sent a tow truck to pick my vehicle up. I have no idea what repairs were made. John will not return my calls or correspond in any way. He has lied to me been dishonest and rude.i will now see if I can get an invoice from him so I have some idea of what he did. I will never recommend Silve Star to anyone. This repair shop has the worst service one can recieve.
