I looked up steel recycling bc Burrtec told me to take the inside of a mattress (steel frame with springs) I wanted to recycle to the dump. SA Recycling in Thousand Palms, Ca was easy to get to. All of the staff were very nice and helpful. It was obvious I had no idea what the drill was. If you've never been before give yourself extra time.

This place is great it’s centrally located they’re open extra hours on Saturday and the guys working here will teach you how to make the most of your scrap it’s easy to set up an account and I’ve always been paid fairly it saves me money every time I drop off Appliances rather than going to Burrtec transfer Station I’ve been going to this place for years and it has served my needs with Small Hauls junk removal, my local business.
SA Recycling Center in Thousand Palms is a great resource to efficiently recycle material that can be re-purposed and help eliminate debris/waste that is crowding our areas. Megalith is a advocate for an environmentally friendly community and is always looking for ways to recycle debris collected from our residents.
Horrible company.. Horrible people who are taking advantage of people who are trying to recycle by running a monopoly on area recycling business in order to control their prices. It would be interesting to see an agency inspect the employment records of this company as well.
Took 12 days and 2 phone calls to receive a check that was only supposed to be held 3 days. Their excuse was they could not see the red stamp on ticket that said "mail check". Second time I've taken a large trailer full of recyclables and this happened both times. I won't be back!
As a nieghbor and Resident, I called thousand palms facility on 4/25/19 concerned about the smoke and the smell it produces, very poor service and unprofessional employees that answer phone calls, they are rude and no manners on how to answer a few simple questions. I was refered to the media and they even hang up on me.
Please train your employees to treat the public and customers with courtesy.
I had 71 lbs of clean Aluminum from trailer awning. They called it 80% Aluminum and only gave me 0.15 cents a pound. Hardly worth the drive to there place. And I just found out they had been paying me tin price for the trailers full of metal I had been bring in, not telling me to separate the steel
I'm here waiting its been at least 20 mins. A nice guy walking by asked if if need help. We told him yes , he said someone will be right with you guys . Still no one??. There are so many people that WORK and I'm sure there are still some people out there that wish that had a job. So if they don't want to work or don't know what customer service is, then they should move aside and let the people who want to work , work. Very disappointed ?. Would of expected better from this place.
If I could I wouldn't give them a star what so ever! I never got my check in the mail what a rip off and a waste of gas driving all the way down to thousand palms! I live in morongo valley! Took some copper in to get money to take my kids somewhere while they were on spring break this week! Called them today letting them know I still haven't gotten my check! Doesnt take a week from there to here for a check to come in the mail! So thanks a lot hopefully no one goes here any more to try and get a few extra bucks cause you wont ever see your check!
i found this place to be very rude, not helpful at all . i felt they could care less about us as a customer and did not care how much work had to be put in to rectify the situation. they waited until i had finished sorting like 20 +++ bags of recyclables then started fine tooth combing through. the lady there gave me soo much attitude that i ended up packing all my stuff back in bags.. i have worked for a crv recycling center for almost ten years and could not understand how someone gets off treating their customers in such a manner!!! i will NEVER give these people my business!!!!!
I got the least I have ever gotten from any recycling center. They gave me 87 cents for an air conditioner unit. They called my insulated wire less than 30% copper and they called my breakage 'low quality' and only gave 5 cents a pound. I had about 800 pounds of bi-metal and they only paid me for 400. Bottom line is I will never come back to these scammers. Beware.
