I’m just a local who’s fed up with how Ace Towing treats people. They went after a veteran who was overseas serving our country — they took his dirt bike, charged crazy storage fees, sold it, then sent him to collections for thousands more.
They did this even though the bike was worth less than $4,000 and the law says they can’t come after you for extra fees once it’s sold. But they did it anyway, hoping nobody would notice.
If they’ll do this to someone who served our country, they’ll do it to anyone. It’s just wrong. We all need to know what kind of shady stuff they’re doing so we can protect our community and our veterans.
I wouldn’t trust them for a second. Do better, Ace Towing.
Avoid at all costs. Dealing with Ace in the Hole Towing in Roseville was one of the most frustrating and dishonest experiences I’ve ever had with a business. The staff was incredibly rude, and they flat-out lied about their pricing over the phone. I was quoted one price, but my card was charged significantly more without authorization. When I tried to dispute the charge, they were completely unhelpful and even sent fake bills to collections. This became a nightmare when I applied for an apartment and had to go through the trouble of disputing the false debt. If you value your time, money, and credit score, steer clear of this place.
writing a few lines just wanted to give credit where Credit is due, had a great experience with Ace in the hole Towing company .as they’ve helped me out when I needed them in some emergency situations, Robert French, especially tow driver was really friendly and right on time !when they said they would be there ,as they help me with my daughter‘s vehicle when it was in a accident I will continue to use them for all my towing needs … Best regards, chris
Where do I even begin with this company? I’m a proud U.S. Army veteran, and while I was serving my country, my father sold my dirt bike to one of his friends. Unfortunately, the new owner never registered the bike in his name, but a Release of Liability (ROL) was filed on my behalf with a bill of sale.
Years later, Ace Towing somehow got ahold of the dirt bike which is worth less than $4,000 and barely takes up any space and I received a letter stating they would continue charging me $60 a day in storage fees until someone retrieved it. Yet when I tried to resolve this, they told me I couldn’t pick it up because I’m “not the registered owner.” I even explained that I was serving overseas, but they claimed they would come after me.
To make matters worse, Ace Towing sold the bike and then had the audacity to send me to collections for $3,200. This is a blatant violation of California Vehicle Code §§ 22851.8 and 3072(d), which clearly state that if a vehicle worth less than $4,000 is sold through a lien sale, the lienholder cannot pursue the former owner for additional charges; they simply keep the sale proceeds. On top of that, by law, they’re only allowed to charge storage fees for 15 days after obtaining the lien, which at $60 a day would total $900, not $3,200.
Despite this, Ace Towing ignored the law and sent me to collections anyway, a predatory practice that exploits people who may not know their rights. According to my attorney, their claim won’t hold up and will be dismissed easily, but it’s outrageous that they use these shady tactics against unsuspecting members of the community.
As a veteran who proudly served this country, I refuse to stay silent. I’ll be sharing my experience widely, encouraging everyone I know to leave honest reviews, and taking this story to local news outlets. The community deserves to know how Ace Towing operates.
This towing company is an absolute disgrace. They operate like scammers violating the law, fraudulently sending people to collections in hopes that uninformed people will just pay up. They prey on the elderly and veterans, trying to squeeze money from people who don’t know their rights.
I will be reporting them to the DMV and the Better Business Bureau for their shady and unethical practices. If you’re dealing with them, know your rights and don’t let them intimidate you into paying money you don’t owe. Stay far away from this company they do not deserve your business.
My car was towed without my consent from parking as a visitor at the montage apartments for around few minutes in a spot that had no “no parking signs” and no “tow away” signs and towed by Ace towing . I spoke with the manager of montage apartments as my children were with me and my car had my car seats and I had no way of getting back my car. Also my purse was in my car. I was on the phone with Ace towing on speaker with the manager of Montage apartments in which the montage manager asked if they are able to bring the car back but Ace said no they have no way of doing that. They charged us $366.68 to get my car back from parking in a spot that was not labeled within state regulations of no parking or tow away. My husband spoke with the Ace manager and they would not work with us. When we got our car back I noticed damage to the left rear bumper. We are now seeking action to get this properly resolved.
I strongly warn everyone to stay away from Ace in the Hole Towing in Roseville. They operate like predators, not a reputable towing company. They take advantage of people in vulnerable situations, slap on outrageous hidden fees, and hold your vehicle hostage while bending or outright ignoring the law. It feels more like dealing with extortion than a legitimate business. They know most people don’t have the time or money to fight back so they get away with it. If you care about your rights, your wallet, and your sanity, find literally any other towing company.
Honestly I’ve had very bad experiences with other towing companies , ACE was very accommodating respectful And gave me zero hassle not only was the driver great but the team in the office was amazing . Brittney in the front office was very helpful with the information I needed to get things up-to-date 10 out of 10
Arrived to pick up my car and nobody was here. Had to wait 25 mins for someone to show up. When he did he said someone else is coming so he can show them how to do a release. Very unprofessional. Asked me to bring cash and then told me they don’t have change. The office smells like dirty laundry and by the looks of the workers - it checks out. Try to get in and out of here as fast as you can.
I might be sick from the smell in here.
I had a very unfortunate experience in which my car was impounded but the staff at Ace In The Hole Towing made a really negative situation better with their kindness, understanding and willingness to help. The staff definitely goes the extra mile and I greatly appreciate their efforts.
I’ve used Ace In The Hole a few times in the past. Daniel specifically, has always picked up the phone, taken great care of my family and I, and been reasonable and fair. I’ve also referred them to friends, and they take care of them just as well as they do for me.
This people suck big time, they don't tell you the necessary information that you need to know, like they charge you extra if you use a debit card or credit card, they don't tell you that the notorized letter you can't email it, the notary place needs to do it .. They might be nice in other ways according to the comments I read but they suck at giving you all the info that you need so you won't be running around. So that's a bad service. Plus when they reply to a comment they are nothing professional.
So disappointed at people all they care it's to get your money.

With over 7 years of towing experience, inwas expecting some runaround and a crazy high price. Until i got ahold of Ace.
Tim, the Operator (man i hope that was his name) responded quickly, was super friendly and knowledgeable, and got me out of there pronto. He was great conversation all the way down the hill and definitely calmed me down from the adrenaline fueled situation.
The price was also much more reasonable than the other towing company I had spoken with.
All in all, it was a 5 star experience and I am absolutely grateful to them!!!
I was hit by a red light runner in the middle of an intersection. Tow truck driver Bailey was awesome. She was fast, kind, and explained all next steps thoroughly. She somehow made a bad situation a little better. Office and tow yard staff were equally helpful. Thank you!
Ace in the hole is prepared, prompt, and dependable. No matter the vehicle or circumstance they arrive quick and have always been professional and easy to work with.
This place just comes in and takes people car from the apartment parking lot! Usually you’ll need someone to authorize it before taking but I spoke to the Manager and he claimed he didn’t call for any towing so that means this towing camp at just comes in and tow car! They also charged really expensive and that include the gate fee which is $117 plus overnight when they took my car late then so that’s how they add all these ridiculous charge and when I called them if I could pick it up right, then they say that I will still have to pay even more because now the maintenance guy will have to come and meet me at the tow location! Sacramento police department or whomever needs to look into this company because there is a reason why there is so much bad review.
I can not tell you how much I appreciate their service and their technicians. They are local to the Rocklin, Roseville, Lincoln, Placer County areas! They know our community which means the world to us. They are professional, and cautious with vehicles. Oh, and they were fast. Thank You!
Had my car impounded by them, came back to my car and they ruined the whole side of my car. I was getting the car towed from there when they told me I have to wait to talk with a manager who I waited for 1 hour for, then I paid the tow truck driver and told him he can leave because it was taking so long. They offered to tow my car for free. After sometime when manager pulled up the guy told me 500 for damages then 700, then 1200$. I told him to do 3000$ and he laughed at it and because I didn’t accept his 1200 he said he won’t tow my car for me even though 3 people from their company said they will because I had to let the tow truck driver leave. Denied to provide insurense details as well. He kept saying he’ll get the estimator out for me so he can estimate my car…. Never happened. Maybe a couple weeks later he offered 3000$ after I had to go out of my pocked 200+ for a different tow company, I told him I’ll think about it. Then took the car to get an estimate where the damages were $10,000+

Horrible company, driver Lawrence is cool but everything else about my experience. They tow with disregard to legal protocol and enable shady managers. Trying to get the information from them for who and why. They refuse to send the requested Information and their dispatch will lose professionalism and hang up on you.
Called and scheduled a tow with a tow truck and dolly to move a car and the company sent a flatbed and then left me hanging with no other options!
So I called Ace in the Hole and they were wonderful! Friendly, knowledgeable and got me out of a jam asap!!

I can’t thank Ace in the Hole Towing enough for their exceptional service during a very stressful situation. Russell was incredibly kind and informative, making sure I understood what needed to be done every step of the way. Cody handled both of the tows and was so patient and kind with my grandma, which made a huge difference for us. Brittany was also fantastic over the phone, coordinating everything seamlessly. Their professionalism and compassion really stood out, and I highly recommend them to anyone in need of towing services.

I used Ace in the hole as a contractor. My vehicle was towed in after a stressful situation. The owner of Ace in the hole was kind enough to notice after we paid the fees that this car wasn't gonna be drivable and a few days more without charge to take care of this we really appreciate that as we were from out of town and we were down on our luck, always thank you very much
Super quick and friendly service, I was quoted much more for a flat tire on the side of i80 from a different local business and at Ace in the Hole, they provided me quick and efficient service. Rae was super helpful and gave me the best bang for my buck. If I could do a 10/10 I would.
There are many many things that I could say right now. And I realize that a company such as this probably doesn't have many people coming into their lobby happy about being there however, you don't know what someone is going through and a little bit of kindness goes a long way. The events that led to me being there this afternoon had nothing to do with me. Someone else's actions landed me there and I had to pay for it in addition to that so I was already having a very hard day. When I came to pick up my vehicle I literally felt like I was bothering the person at the front desk. She was rude and cold. She came off with an attitude like she was better than me. Not to mention when I got my vehicle it was damaged so I have a pretty bad taste in my mouth from my whole entire experience with this company. There was no professionalism at all. I still can't find the keys to my vehicle they said "they're in there somewhere just start the car". In addition a lot of change was stolen out of my vehicle as well as my child's pokémon cards. I didn't bother going in and talking to them about the damage and missing items because I already know what they're going to say. I guess when it comes to this particular place the customer doesn't matter. $500 for a vehicle to be towed and kept for one night is astronomical for someone who's living paycheck to paycheck. And then sprinkle on top damaging their vehicle, stealing from them and being rude to them when they come in, it all adds up to a horrible experience. And again I understand that it's not supposed to be a great experience that's the nature of the business I'm just saying it's not hard to smile and it's not hard to stop and think about somebody else and what they could be going through and just showing a tiny bit of compassion.
UPDATE: in response to your comments, you are incorrect. I was extremely respectful. The person who I came there with may have said something rude but I refused to be a part of that in case you didn't notice I did not come back inside after all that happened. So once again you're making a customer who was nothing but respectful feel like an inconvenience and like a problem. Wow! You guys are awesome have a great night yourself.
Scam artist the whole company!! Never sent me a bill & then sold my vehicle now they're trying to charge a senior citizen on a fixed income $2400 they are a bunch of bullies that prey on the vulnerable. You should NEVER work with this company. The lady in accounting is rude, disrespectful & has no clue what she's doing or even talking about. Do yourself a favor & work with a different towing company because Ace in the Hole is TRASH!! And the trash owner responded to me because he knows him & his company are scam artists. They have a bunch of horrible reviews but he's so triggered by my comment lol The owner is a joke!!
We are an underground construction company with heavy equipment. A few pieces of equipment were stolen and required professional service to retrieve as they are large pieces of equipment and vehicles in the hole was right on time was able to recover all the equipment and store in the safe facility, completely satisfied and please with the services, we received in Sacramento. We will always use ace in the hole towing
