Picture should show what you can expect from here. Besides the very low prices the weights where different from what I weigh before going there. On the plus side of things. There was absolutely no line and was in and out pretty fast. Both employees where very friendly.(kinda the lube before getting .....)

The Auburn recycling has a fast and efficient procedure in place. You'll fly right through, as long as you have ALL your recycling separated ahead of time. You must take off all the plastic bottle caps ahead of time. Glass has to be separated by color. Wait for the staff to tell you move forward and form two lines at the end. Follow these procedures and you'll have a great experience.

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR SCRAP HERE!!! I went there with 10.14 pounds of clean copper tubing, #2 copper. I only recieved $6.20. When i said something about the price the guy told me" hey im trying to make money." Ya so was i. I was trying to buy some lunch and a pack of smokes. They take afvantage of the fact that they are the only scrappers in auburn. Granted they dont make you wait 3 days. But the price difference is so drastic that driving to rancho and waiting 3 days to get paid is actually worth it. Do not go to this place. Im going to share my experience on all social media outlets that im involved with. And as much word of mouth that i can generate. This happened last time also. I didnt say anything. Gave them a second chance. Never again

Fairly quick, usually busy, pays cash. Not to many recyclable places around left. Make sure you have the caps off the bottle before. Will be back again.

I've been here twice now and both times I was in and out quickly. I do agree with other reviewers unfortunately that there is something fishy about the weighing and paying out for recycled material though. My first trip I had enough crushed cans to fill four barrels. My second visit I had enough crushed cans to fill six barrels. I was paid more for my first trip than my second though. I'll continue to bring scrap metal here though because it feels safe enough going by myself as a woman.

I arrived and transferred my cans into three bins. The weight on the scale was 54.48#. The worker rang me up and tried to convince me that I only had two bins. Then he gave me $54. The price for aluminum cans was $1.66. I was definitely scammed. $36 in the worker's pocket. I consider it my fault since I didn't call him out. I may go back, just to watch them like a hawk and make them give what they owe. For anyone else... Go elsewhere.

Great recycling center. Both employees I met were friendly, helpful, and efficient. The man who checked my bottles and cans worked quickly and explained why certain items couldn’t be accepted. Once everything was inspected and weighed, I was quickly cashed out and on my way. Bonus points for the cute dog. Thanks guys!

I was car #8 when the recycling center opened at 10:10. I was in line for 45 minutes, and was finished within 10 minutes after I got to the service area. Most of the waiting was because the customers in front of me either 1) didn’t take the caps off plastic bottles before arriving or 2) didn’t separate cans from plastic from glass, and wasted everyone’s time while they did so. I received the amount of money I expected. So yay. I’d go again, but queue up earlier to get more in front.

I knew the former owner of this recycling center. She was a parishioner at our church and ran a very respectable business The current owner and employees are anything but. So much secrecy in the weighing and recording of material. More often than not, material thrown in crusher before weight given. Rude and fowl on top of it. Unfortunately it's the only recycler in Auburn Area.

This place is a straight up scam. I had 5 barrels of aluminum cans, dude weighs them, puts the contents of all 5 barrels in the can grinder then writes down the weight and gives me $35 cash. While I waited, one of their regular homeless buddies comes up with 2 black bags of cans and he gets $36. I had 3x as much aluminum as the homeless guy and I made 1$ less? Give me a break Go down to Rocklin or roseville, do not take your business to these guys Ill also add, their can grinder is and has been leaking oil right onto the dirt, no catch or tray or any attempt to keep the oil from just leaching out into the soil....

Busy always. They do the best they can. Never have had a problem with any of the guys, always nice. Where I do see a problem is with a lot of the customers not having their recycling ready and correctly sorted and caps off. This creates a BIG holdup! With this I can see why the guys seem to get impatient.

Only game in town (the dump isn't in town) access is scetchy, lines can be long down the road. Once you learn the routine (read the signs, do what they say) it's cool. Patience is required and covid protocols are not really a priority. They're always busy so if you don't like it they have no problem with you leaving. They pay cash money in your hand and don't ask for I.D.

Very thorough. Great staff. My old car battery died while waiting in line; nobody got annoyed. They gave me a jump and got me on my way!

It's a busy place, but they move consistently. It goes slow when people are unscrewing the tops off containers. Can't blame the operation, they are as swift as the customers! Thanks, this service is not available in Grass Valley to my knowledge..

We have been coming here for years and I could say in the last year the experience has been sub par. There is really no one there that knows how to direct traffic. They spend alot of time standing around. The guy on the scale disappears for whaT seems like 15 minutes at a time. It seems to me that they should have at least 1 more worker in these times that the line is almost down to 7-11. Bob does the best he can and is super nice. The average wait time is a minimum of 2 hours now. If I sat in line for 2-3 hours and got to the front to be told no more cars I would be irate to say the least. You guys really need to get it together

Nice folks there, but it is worth mentioning that they sometimes lose track of barrels for CRV items during high volume periods. Mixing up customers refunds/returns. Not to detract from their goodwill, or their lack of skimming that has happened in that location from past businesses. Good people, pretty patient dealing with customers not following the same simple instructions day in and day out, just needs a larger location to handle volume - and in that event - a larger staff. Especially, with Recology not issuing refunds during this period with Covid-19.

Arrived at 2:30pm on Sunday. At 2:41pm, they closed the gate telling three cars in line "we close at 3." Please hire better and cleaner employees that wear masks who are respectful of the times posted for business.

I've been there over the year's.One day in the sweltering heat.....an employee brought me a cold bottle of water and a popcorn.always hard at we work.and helpful.I usually go to 7 11 and get him a cold beer. Also like to admire all the old relics there.Great job guy's and gal's. I'll be back.

These people are a unified team working hard and moving quickly in the high temperatures. Even though there's a trendous long line of cars, they're a finely tuned team keeping a commendable pace. Thank you for your hard work.

Very busy, but they do a great job keeping the line moving! Super helpful and nice guys working. Just be sure to sort and have the lids off all your bottles, to help them make it fast and efficient.

All of these negative reviews are customers who don’t want to follow the guidelines; sort at home, separate glass by color (clear, brown, green) and only fill glass tubs halfway because glass is heavy, leave labels on plastics and remove caps, pull as far forward as possible and be ready to unload your recycling because that is a busy place. If you do that you’ll be in and out in a breeze.

If you decide to do business with this establishment, I recommend you weigh your stuff prior to arriving with prior knowledge of going rate for the metal you are selling otherwise you will be shorted. This business is notorious for rounding out to the weighmaster aka the owner benefit. I walked out today because he offered only half of the going rate. $4 instead of $8.20. It is not a fortune, I know, it is the point of the matter. I hate to write reviews like this but people need to be warned about way they do business.

No complaints, the man in charge was extremely helpful on my first visit. I was unaware of removing the caps off the plastic bottles and pushing them inside or just throwing them in the bag loosely, I believe it’s so they can maximize the compaction. I will be returning with my recycling needs. Thank you ✔️👍🏻

I used to go to the recycle center on Shale Ridge road but the management changed and the people were not very helpful. The staff at the Sacramento street site are trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent, (my mistake, that is the Boy Scout law) but they are still great. I always give them my proceeds as a tip.

I had been going here for years with no problems. Until the last couple of times I was there the owner told to start no. 1 take off all plastic bottle caps and no.2 put all caps in a bag because it takes their guys to much time to clean them up! Isn't that what they are being paid for! Unless you sell Corey I am done!!! SAD!!!

This place sucks. The drive way is all mist up. There tons of pot holls and a narrow driveway. The customer service here is lazy and they look like there drunk or just dumb. They do not help you with your recycling , even if you are handicap they will not help you out. You have to do it by your self. I will ONLY go here if I'm in town.

Friendly neighborhood recycling center. I've talked with the staff multiple times about their prices. They pay customers higher rates per pound on CRV than local competitors and do everything they can to get you in and out as quick as possible. They are knowledgeable locals who give you better service and care than any other place I've been. I recently found out many of their competitors were shut down because of how those places were operating. Auburn Recycling has survived by offering the best deals around while operating fully compliant with regulations.

Access by vehicle is limited, one-way system with uneven surface and sharp dip at entrance Recycle staff member was very stressed and barked orders while banging on my truck. Unpleasant experience, do not recommend.

I give it 3 stars because it's convenient other than that the owner there will rip you off a little here and there he's kinda shady buisness wise. He took a distributor off me that was solid steel and refused to pay for it, but said all coy like ill take it though... Last time I pre weighed some bottles and cans amounting to about 22.50 he gave me 15.00 bucks it's just the little things that get on your nerves like that. One time I took the same amount of bottles and cans in got 1.50 had to intervene and say I bring the same amount here every time and get 5 dollars plus so they said they made a mistake and gave me 5. Id suggest you go otherwise for full pay or go here for convenience based on it's location not service sometimes they wont even help you with your cans.

They are very nice there, and convenient if you live in the Auburn area you don't have much choice. However, what they pay you for your cans is basically $1 a pound and the state delta is $1.58. So if you go in with 100#, expect $100, not $158. I had 80# and got $80. I could have driven to SAC, but who has time for that. They've got the Auburn folks by the short hairs.
