Edit* I the manager reached out and we came to a conclusion together. I got a balance with them to offset the increase in price. Unfortunate that in order to utilize it I need to return and ultimately pay 150% what I was expecting to pay but that is better than the 200% it would have been going back for the same rate.
The owner, Steve, was out of the loop for my interactions at the shop.
They did a great job aligning it and the car no longer vibrates at speed. So I will return to have my other car services.
I am leaning towards this being a fluke on their part and not regular treatment.

I had a bad experience at an "experienced" shop.
Long story short: I, a customer, had to fork out cash for an (ex) employees potential mistake. A near $200 quote became closer to $500.
Long story long:
I have a relatively odd car, a 1988 Toyota MR2. I rebuilt the entire suspension and needed an alignment. I swung by The Auto Service about a month and a half ago and asked if they worked on these cars. Front desk guy was not sure so asked two other guys, one of which confirmed my year and if it was lowered. It is not lowered. And they said yes they can do that.
So the month and a half goes by as I get it all back together to make the trip to get it aligned. Drop it off and within an hour I get a call saying they did what they could but my camber is still positive. They insisted that I do not have camber adjustment, which I said I did. I sent them photos of the manual on how to adjust it, told them how to perform it over the phone, and also a photo of a spare part of it to adjust. They politely say oh okay and go back to work.
I get yet another call saying that there is no way to adjust it and they have the bolt out in hand to show me. I come over in person and see they have the non adjusting bolt so I point out the eccentric spacer used for adjusting which takes the tech a couple minutes to understand. I was showing them a way to tap it with a chisel/flathead to adjust it with the wheel on (1 minute adjustment).
I leave and get yet again another call saying that they checked their manual and showed this was a 3.5 hour operation instead of a 1 hour operation. And that they would only charge me 3.0 hrs of labor.
This is where I saw an issue:
1. tell me one price and then end up doubling it by the end of the operation.
2. This is after they insisted me, the customer was wrong about my car
3. had me come in person to show them how to do it
4. apparently had a manual the entire time that could show them how to do it and also give me an accurate quote and not waste my time coming over.
I was hoping to do car alignment and smog here for two of my vehicles; but this looks like my only visit to them.
I do not want to see business models like this succeed where an employees error comes out of the customers pocket. Where a company's accountability is the responsibility of the customer.
I do however appreciate their communication, and willingness to bring me into the shop for this instance.
Manuel always told me, if your RAV-4 needs maintenance and service, make sure you take it to “STEVE!” He was so RIGHT! It felt so familiar & comfortable. Your shop is very friendly & inviting.

My car was a little sluggish I knew it needed service. Took it in in the morning and they had it ready for me by noon. They are also great if you need a ride, dropping your car off and picking it back up. Is now running great! Steve, Glenn and the whole staff are very personable. Highly recommend.
Lisa and Steve were absolutely incredible. They offered fair pricing and were honest about the repairs necessary. I love that this is a family business! The two were very quick with responses and the repairs. My car is in great shape now. I recommend this shop to all who appreciate great communication and ease of service.

the owner, Steve, and his team, have always provided the best and most reliable service for my/my family's various cars over the years. Not only has there never been a problem with the work performed, they are extremely knowledgeable, have always been totally honest with me in terms of the service needed, and never tried to take advantage by selling me items I don't need (like so many of the dealership service departments). Fast service and reliable mechanics, they guarantee their work, I took my car here after a couple of mechanics had already worked on it and the problem kept happening, these guys nailed it at one time, John is super knowledgeable and really nice he will tell you what you need and also what you don't need so no needs of extra money to be spent. I've been here twice and both times drove away happily. They'll also check with days later to make sure the problem is fixed. Definitely recommended and will come back to TAS.
I was in a bind when my car wouldn't start. I was at my daughter's school and didn't know what to do or who to take it to, as I had only ever used the dealership to repair my car. While I waited for the tow truck to arrive, I googled the closest shop that had good reviews and that is where I found The Auto Service. I called and they said they would be able to diagnose my vehicle once it got there. I dropped it off and was even given a ride back to my home. John did a wonderful job of explaining everything and my car was repaired in just a few hours. They were extremely fair in pricing and as a woman who knows absolutely nothing about cars, I felt very comfortable that I wasn't being ripped off or given unnecessary recommendations as so many other places do. They are honest and I know where I will be taking my car to from now on for any future service needs. Thank you so much!

My Jeep broke down (hours before I had to be at the airport). TAS was AAA recommended and when I called, John made me feel like I was taking it to the right place. They took my car in and got me out fast, assuring me they would take care of the problem and keep my vehicle until I returned. I researched thru Google for a independent auto repair shop to service what I thought was a issue with my 2012 Subaru Outback transmission. I found TAS, The Auto Service with recent 5 star reviews. In business for 40+ years, a authorized AAA repair shop which tells me I would get high quality honest repair for the money I would be spending. I called to set an appointment, I spoke to the service mgr, John, who was very pleasant. I was informed of the progress of the work being done by Glenn on my car as I waited. No problems with my transmission, it was my rear brakes. Very surprised by the customer lounge with Wi-Fi access, bring your tablet/laptop.

I went in for a prearranged oil change and received excellent service. I was in and out in under 25 minutes. I would also like to mention that two year’s ago I brought my truck to TAS for an engine overhaul. They went above and beyond to ensure my truck would run as smoothly as a new one. Two years later, my truck still runs exceptionally well. I highly recommend them for outstanding service.
The Auto Service Co. did a great job on my 2013 Volvo S60. I have always went to the Volvo Dealership for my Service intervals thinking I was getting the best service available but I learned they were not truthful on servicing of the transmission and the Air conditioning system. I want to thank John Pizanie (Volvo specialist) on pointing out what Volvo dealerships basically were lying that my Transmission is a sealed system never needing service. Thanks to John the Auto Service team serviced my transmission and my Air conditioning system saving me thousand of dollars of possible having to replace my transmission due to lack of service by the dealer. I highly recommend this service center for all your automobile needs and repairs.

Auto service was recommended by my son-in-law. I was very pleased with the service and attention that I received. The ongoing communication was great. The garage was so very clean and so very organized and the people Servicing my car were fantastic.
My truck lost steering at a gas station. I called my family mechanic with no response, the AAA. AAA recommended nearby shops, and The Auto Service (TAS) was first. I was able to immediately call and talk to John, that gave me insight on the possible problem and approximate cost to repair. So I had AAA tow to TAS. My truck was repaired within the expected scope of repair and I was back on the road in just less than four (4) hours!!! Same Day!!! My family mechanic would have had my truck for a week, at least, and never-mind the bill!!!

I took my wrangler 3 times to 2 different Jeep dealers, and the Jeep mechanics could not repair my Jeep. TAS ordered the correct parts and repaired my car in a couple hours. Awesome service, great work!! I will be back!
Great service! These guys know their trade. Led by seniors with 50 years of experience, this place has the best combination of young mechanics guided by experienced gurus. The work is guaranteed, feel confident you can return if the job doesn't feel right.
I was very impressed. Fixed ac in less than hour and replaced break light as well. Only downside was getting to them with road construction and traffic. Light still on slider open a little expensive but sure they stand by their service.
Every time I bring my vehicles I ask them to check on various things such as squeaky brakes, shocks, or various sounds that I have convinced myself are indicators that I might soon be stranded on the side of the road. I am prepared to pay repairs and replacement that will likely cost more than $1,000.00. To my pleasant surprise they check and explain that my concerns are unfounded and I do not need to repair or replace anything. This is an honest shop that I recommend everyone patronize. We need more business like this in our community. I have been taking my vehicles here for more than 6 years and never been disappointed. They also have a clean and inviting waiting area if you choose to stay and wait for your car.
I’ve never been more taken advantage of anywhere more than here. They charged me twice the price that the dealer would charge for brake work, then harassed me repeatedly over the phone for leaving a bad review. I’m still bothered and based on how brazenly they harass people, I wouldn't believe the good reviews

These guys have been servicing my 06 Volvo XC70 ever since I bought it used 4 years ago. I've never had any worries or complaints about their work. Steve and John do a great job letting you know what things on your car can wait and what should be done sooner than later. I've never been pressured or talked into some kind of service or repair that I didn't think I need.
Every time I bring in my car for an oil change they check it all around for other usual wear-and-tear and they let me know how everything looks. They'll answer any questions you have and they do a great job explaining what things do what on your car.
I bring my car here for everything: service, tires, engine light, everything. The team here is nothing but exceptional professionalism and they're family owned. These guys started off as a Volvo specialist back in the day and I appreciate everything they've done for me and my car.
