The service and experience at CAL Auto Service is excellent. Their office and waiting area are clean. They did an excellent job of repairing and maintaining my car. The people working there are knowledgeable, professional and friendly. And it’s an AAA approved shop.
CAL Auto Service in Santa Ana is truly one of a kind. Peter and Bryan never fail to exceed our expectations. I took my car in because my A/C had been down for a while and as soon as I told Peter (owner), he immediately told me my model has extended warranty because the condenser in those models are known to fail. He told me it was an expensive repair and said to take it to a dealer and they would fix it for free if it is the condenser. Unfortunately, it was another part but I was able to work out a heavy discount with them through Honda Goodwill Assistance.
I feel like every other shop would have just worked on my car and I'd have to pay full prices. Peter ultimately saved me thousands of dollars for this repair. So although I haven't had work done by this shop, I would definitely be coming back for any work/maintenance and I recommend you do as well! They deserve it for their honesty and professionalism.
Genuinely my favorite auto shop that I've been to. Both Peter and Bryan are effective in communicating what they are going to do, how much they are charging (very fair prices), and afterwards, what happened to the car and what went wrong. The staff here are the definition of honest auto mechanics and their customer service is exceptional. Highly recommend those who are looking for a new mechanic to try them out!l
Peter is awesome and explains what’s actually going on with the car in very simple and easy to understand terms. The prices were very fair too and we had a quick turnaround with our car. I highly recommend this shop to everyone! You get dealer’s experience and expertise at much affordable prices.
Called on a Thursday afternoon and they were able to get me in the next morning. They even let me drop the van off on Thursday night to accommodate our plans for the next morning. Brian was the technician that serviced the van. He provided a clear description of what work they were going to do and how they were going to move forward. He completed all of the work on schedule and the van is performing as new. They were friendly, the pricing was fair, and the work done seems to be of the highest quality. Highly recommended.
Where do I begin? I have had all my cars serviced with CAL Auto Service for 5 years and they have not disappoint! All my vehicles (Honda, Toyota, Lexus, Kia and Hyundai) have been in great condition thanks to Peter, Bryan and his their amazing team! Super happy with their service, Brian took care of all my needs in a timely manner. He took his time to do a detailed inspection on my car without making me forced to spend money on repairs. I'm happy to have found this place on Google maps! The gentlemen that work here are very friendly, knowledgeable, and ensure they help you with everything before they charge. I went in today for an oil change and saw they did smogs as well, but before anything they looked at my car to see if they believed it would pass before they ran the test, so I wouldn't have to pay more should it fail. I was referred to Call Auto by my boss who has been a loyal customer for many years. Peter (the owner), and Brian are great! This is a family owned business. Pricing is fair and customer service is great. They will never use cheap parts or try and upsell you like other mechanics. I highly recommend them.
At the Cal Auto Service I just went to earlier the employees was friendly and nice they always have a smile on their smile that I like about them. They fixed my car and other cars look brand new with no techniques or mechanical problems at all. I recommend everyone to fix it at this place because Peter knows plenty of technologies of the cars also he can give his customers a reason how can it perform well. I just got my oil change for only 5 minutes not bad!
CalAuto is the best alternative to dealer service without the service writers up selling you. Excellent service for a fair price. Excellent value if you value honesty and great service. Even trust them enough to send my parents alone.

Superb customer service from the phone to in-person. We brought our '98 Lexus GS 300 in for a timing belt replacement package on a Saturday and picked it up same day! I know nothing about cars so I was really appreciative of the mini lessons that Peter, the owner, shared with me during the pre-assessment and when we picked our car up. Honest, educated, professionals. It all started with a visit to fix a seat belt issue. We left the car to be inspected. We received a phone call shortly after letting us know the part had a lifetime warranty from the manufacturer and they suggested we take the car to the Honda dealership to be fixed for free. Since then, they have serviced our Honda, Mercedes-Benz, Chevy and Porsche. We are so glad to have found this facility.
Took my car here to get an oil change and was very pleased with the pricing. $49.99 for full synthetic oil? I can't complain. I also got my air filter replaced since it's been a while.
Overall, my experience was very pleasant and satisfied. Will be coming here again.
My Mercedes had a “Auxiliary Battery Malfunction” displayed on my dash. Took it here to get a quote and it was way cheaper than the dealership was trying to charge me. Also decided to get my oil change since I was here. I was in and out within an hour.
Overall, this auto shop is very professional, the workers are very nice and the prices are affordable.
My brakes were making a grinding noise, so I decided to take it here. I was greeted by Janet who was very friendly and professional. She then took my information and told me that the technician will be with me shortly. I sat in the waiting area and I can definitely say it's one of the nicest waiting area compared to many other auto shops out there. They have snacks and drinks for their customers as they wait.
Shortly after, I was then greeted by Peter who was the technician working on my car. He was very thorough on what was wrong with my car and really knew what he was talking about.
My overall experience here couldn't have gotten any better. Everyone at Cal Auto Service was very polite and friendly. Very nice and clean inside and out. I will definitely be coming here again as well as referring others.
