I have always had a good experience when dealing with Mike at Engine supply. I have been using this shop for over 50 years. I don't think there is any better in Orange County

It’s been bout half a year now and my motor hasn’t blown up yet despite my best efforts (constant abuse). I am supremely impressed by Engine Supply, and I highly recommend them. They truly take the cake when it comes to knowledge and quality of work. Last year I blew up my 1.5JZ motor, quite terribly. With engine supply’s help we were able to identify damage and get all the machine work necessary. They helped me make sure everything was in spec so I could re-assemble the motor and have my car running again. Not only did they do excellent work but they were very communicative during the process and answering my questions. I basically learned everything I needed to know as a first time builder. The grumpy old man at the front desk is Mikey, he is the shop owner and knows everything there is to know about engines. Despite his grumpy demeanor he was super helpful and gave me lots of useful advice. He has two sons Matt and Mason also working at the shop and they are both very skilled and knowledgeable. I have never seen a business with such great staff. Everyone was awesome and definitely went above and beyond to help me. I recommend this shop for any motor but especially JZ’s they are constantly working with em and are super familiar with the platform, it is one of the main motors they work with. Thanks to Engine Supply, Now I can resume my favorite pastime (illegal street racing). I’ve been beating on the motor mercilessly since first start. And it has been rock solid.

I've had quite a few blocks machined here and always quality work. He even fixed a block for me that another "reputable" machine shop screwed up the bore.

Great and highly experienced engine machine shop! They did a great job on restoring my early Chrysler Hemi cylinder heads!

Called to inquire about having heads resurfaced. Mentioned the engine and the grumpy old coot only barked "too old, cannot quote any range", and offered no other information, and asked no questions. Apparently business is so good they do not need to make any effort to work with prospective customers. I'll also let the guy who.referred me know they are not the customer focused place the reviews indicate they once were.

Most knowledgable shop in California. They do the best work I have seen and are very friendly, especially with pricing! They price very fairly and even suggest what you should do if you are not very knowledgable about engines (like myself). Matt and Mason are now personal friends of mine and I will continue to bring my engines here. Also they can be busy because of how big of a customer base they have so plan a week ahead to get service done. Below are pics of my friend’s miata 1.9 machined and my 2jz that I am currently building, both machined by engine supply. Support family businesses!

Did fantastic work... block, crank and head turned out great. Mike and Mason both pointed out things to watch out for during cleaning and re-assembly, and even provided small containers of assembly lube to use.

This is the end all, be all of machine shops in SoCal. They DO get busy because they are the best and worth every second and dollar you spend with them. This is the ONLY machine shop I would trust with my motors. Mason and Matt are the best in the business hands down.

I was referred to Engine Supply by several people that have had work done by them and I’m glad I listened. Brought my blown JZ motor to them for inspection and building. I dealt directly with Mason who was up front about the process and approx costs. They’re super busy and told me there would be a wait time and more so if we needed parts. We went for a fully built 2JZ-GTE with forged pistons, rods, billet main caps, etc. A motor capable of 1500 HP. Mason told me that we needed to upgrade certain parts since we were aiming for high HP and was honest about spending the extra money for nice stuff to ensure the integrity of the build and his labor. It was super nice to be able to bring a bare block and head and have them machine and assemble everything for me, saving me the hassle since I don’t have the tools or time. Whole process took about 60 days but I wouldn’t want to rush an already busy company and potentially cause them miss a small detail that could have ended in catastrophic failure to my $14k investment because I was impatient. Already planning the next build and Engine Supply is gonna be my first stop. Keep it up guys! Ed

Took several weeks just to wash engine then kept stalling on completing the rest of the work. Took to different (and better) shop. Also the old guy at the counter was constantly an a** over the phone and in person. Would never go back. Everyone else we talked to while we were there seemed like nice people though.

Mike is an old-school, no-nonsense guy. They did all the machining for a Jeep stroker motor I built and it was top-notch. Recently, I had them machine the races on brake rotors to adapt them to an oddball vehicle. Mike got them done in a day, despite being very busy. Fair prices for excellent work!

Mike hooked me up with some galley plugs for my motor build at no charge! Really saved my day. I’ll be back here for sure.

Mike really knows his stuff. I have dealt with him many times over the years and there is no one else I would trust to rebuild any of my engines!

Long story short: If you need your flywheel resurfaced, take it to Engine Supply aka Rimpau Company, Inc. The owner Mike helped me out and did a perfect job! I know that it is perfect because I measured with precision dial indicators etc. at my work (aerospace engineering co.). The runout is less than .0005 inch! My flywheel is from an aftermarket high performance Exedy twin disc clutch. It is a stepped flywheel and is more difficult than most to resurface. I had taken my flywheel to different automotive machine shop first, and when I got it back it looked fine by eye, but when I measured it, it was WAY WAY off! The runout was .015 inch! I went and got my money back from them and then took it to Mike at Engine Supply. He was able to fix their BIG mistake. In talking with Mike I could tell that he really knows his stuff and has been around the block. I would not hesitate to bring him any automotive machine work that I need in the future! It's a bit difficult to find the place and there is no sign on the building for whatever reason. Just look for the big number 304 on the front of the building.
