Never ever sell your copper in this place. They reap you off. They are paying 1.66 per pound of shinny copper. You can get up 3.80 per pound in other places.

Solid place first time here fast and efficient
And great price on copper !!
Definitely recommend !Nov 09, 2025 -
My husband went to sell insulated copper wire and they were trying to pay him at .13 cents per pound total rip off! I was told it was going for $1.80 at the weighing station and when I saw my receipt I was being given 13 cents per pound. When I questioned them about the price they increased it to 50 cents still a rip off compared to other locations definitely not coming back because they will turn around and sell it for triple that! Make sure you check your receipt before cashing! Go elsewhere!!

The Gold Standard for Recycling – OC Recycling is in a League of Its Own
If you are looking for a recycling center, stop your search right now. OC Recycling is, without a doubt, the most trustworthy, professional, and customer-oriented operation you will find. My experience with them, particularly with an employee named Carlos, has completely redefined my expectations for what a recycling service should be.
I’ve been to several other centers in the area, but none come close to the level of service provided here. What truly sets OC Recycling apart are the key qualities you hope for but rarely find in this industry:
1. Unshakeable Integrity and Transparency:
This is their single greatest asset. On my first visit, I received a quoted price for my materials. Before my next delivery, I experienced a significant setback when the majority of my initial collection was stolen. When I finally arrived at OC Recycling with a new, smaller load days later, Carlos honored the original price without me even having to ask. In a world where prices can mysteriously change at the scale, this steadfast commitment to their word is invaluable. You know exactly what you’re getting, and you can trust that you will be treated fairly.
2. Professionalism and Respect:
From the moment you drive in,the difference is noticeable. The facility is well-organized and efficiently run. The staff, led by examples like Carlos, are not just knowledgeable; they are courteous and treat every customer with respect, whether you're bringing in a few hundred pounds or a commercial truckload. There is no condescension, no rush—just clear communication and a smooth, professional process from weigh-in to payout.
3. Customer-Centric Business Model:
They understand that their success is built on loyal customers.By simply doing the right thing, they have earned my business for life. I will not be taking my recyclables anywhere else, and I am actively telling all my friends and colleagues to do the same. They make it easy to choose them because they remove the stress and uncertainty that often accompanies recycling.
4. Fair and Competitive Pricing:
While their prices are competitive with the market, the real value is in the trust that comes with it. You never have to worry about getting short-changed or dealing with confusing calculations. The process is transparent, and you can be confident that you are receiving every dollar you have rightfully earned.
In summary, choosing a recycling center often comes down to more than just the price per pound. It's about trust, reliability, and being treated as a valued partner. OC Recycling excels in every single one of these areas. They are a pillar of integrity in the community.
Do yourself a favor and bypass the rest. Go directly to OC Recycling. You’ll not only get the best possible service for your materials, but you’ll also be supporting a local business that operates with a level of principle that is truly rare to find. They have a customer for life.Oct 28, 2025 -
Amazing customer service, completely professional, Carlos the facility manager helped offering me fair pricing with complete transparency and even offered to help move my scrap wire to their facility granted the big quantity. After looking at reviews, every one complaining is crying over nickels and dimes when these are honest hard working people that are running a business at the end of the day, any contractors looking to move heavy amounts of scrap metals in Orange County, this is the place. A+

Barrels are not clean so wear plastic disposable gloves! But the containers still get the job done! Line moves quickly @ the scale area. New digital printer to receive the ticket for the cashier. Then you receive your cash !

I come here all the time and often question why there's such a huge difference in payouts on certain days but I don't make a fuss. I just take what they give and go on..
However, deciding to read these reviews I'm amazed at their replies to each complaint which is a lot. They sound like offended teenagers. There's 0 accountability and apparently they feel they're above complaints. Even the best businesses receive complaints. How the business responds even if they feel they were not wrong speaks VOLUMES about the business.
It's time to go elsewhere. Atp the reviews coupled with their replies speak for the business, LOUDLY. BTW every complaint is not from some competition somewhere and just because you don't recognize a name on Google doesn't mean you haven't served them. Yall need to grow up!Aug 04, 2025 -
If you’re thinking of coming to OC Recycling Center—don’t let the name fool you.
They were more than happy to accept an SUV packed to the roof with cardboard (that I don’t even get paid for), but when it came to 8 bags of packing paper and Styrofoam that came from the cardboard I brought —clearly marked as trash—they flat-out refused to let me dispose of it in their dumpster.
Let that sink in: a Recycling Center… that won’t let you dispose of the trash created by the recycling process.
What’s the point of having trash dumpsters on-site if you won’t let the people using your service actually use them?
This was my first time here—and clearly my last. I came expecting a solution. Instead, I got a reminder: looks can be deceiving.Jul 07, 2025 -
The guy didn’t know difference between tin and steel. The only good thing was he helped me get the item out of my car

I recommend to everyone go somewhere else. This place is stealing from you. The yellow cans they use for weight are misweigh from 1 and half to 2 pound each of them. They probably have more than 300 visitors per day. Doing math it's 300 x 1½-2 pounds = 500-600 misweigh recycle materials. I'll say average of what they paid per pound is $2 dollars, so 500-600 pounds x 2 = $1000-$1500 per day on misweigh stealing they been doing and I'm sure I'm short on those numbers. Now imagine they been open for some years. They must be inspected by respective authorities.
UPDATE 05/31/2025 : IM A CONCERN CUSTOMER. YOU SHOULD CARE YOUR CUSTOMERS AND FORGET ANY COMPETITORS.
Looks like your workers also get trained to steal from people as all your operations do.
Bring aluminum cans on 3 different yellow cans. With tares 18,18 and 17. Making 53 pounds of tare. Your worker deducted 55. Meaning here your business is stealing 2 more pounds out of my recycling.
SHAME OF BUSINESS. HOPE YOU GUYS GET INSPECTED SOON.Jun 10, 2025 -
Easy to do, quick service. Pays better then some other places I've been to in OC

I’ve been to this location roughly 30-40 times over the last 7 years. This used to be my go to spot and recommended spot to anyone however now I’m doing the opposite!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!! It all started decent as usual. I started unloading everything and prepared to head to their scales. On one cart I had 7 junk TVs all aging 10 plus years old mostly broken. As I’m preparing my remaining few items the manager Carlos pulls up on a forklift and asks where I got them. I stated that I flip storage units and that these were all older ones I couldn’t sell. Carlos told me they couldn’t accept them unless I had a business and filled out the necessary paperwork at the front office. I stated this was my business as I do this full time and no worries, then began heading to the office he directed me to. I wait in line and when I make it to the window I see a familiar face who’s typically been very polite in the past and state I was told to fill out paperwork for the TVs I’m scrapping. She states it’s against policy and they can’t take them. I ask for a copy of the policy as I’m confused and have scrapped TVs prior to this at this location. She goes to the back (where I think she’s printing said policy) but comes back with Gabby. Gabby with immediate attitude states that I cannot sell them because they are not mine. Confused I question her as I state I can pull up proof to validate my purchase of them. She then states “you’ve already told my manager how you got them and we can’t take them”. Now even more confused and frustrated I question it even more. Especially considering the person she claims told her they can’t take them is Carlos who personally told me to go waste my time in line filling out nonexistent paperwork. Because of this I question it again and request the same paper I did in the beginning with this policy that I’ve never heard of. She gets even more attitude and disrespects me several more times stating they are not yours. Basically calling me a thief and a liar to my face simply because I bought them in a storage unit even though I have receipts and picture proof of my ownership that I offered to provide. I again ask for a printout of said policy because she couldn’t explain why other than they aren’t mine which only was more upsetting given the fact I said I could provide proof they were and just wanted to know if I truly couldn’t and if not why. She then finally prints out a sheet of paper with one single email and a phone number on it. I grab it and walk away upset knowing she’s not gonna answer my only question. I head back to my van and load the TVs back up then take my remaining scrap and head to the scale line. Mr manager Carlos then has the audacity to see me from afar and goes out of his way to approach me and asks “did you get the paperwork taken care of” knowing he’s the one who told her they won’t accept them and also even though he personally directed me there. So needless to say At this point I’m furious and very loudly repeated “I don’t want to talk to you” but was does baby Carlos do?? He uses this as an opportunity to get closer and more personal with me and start pointing his greasy finger inches from my chest now finally attempting to give an explanation with attitude. Knowing I’m already angry and didn’t wanna fight this old man I continue stating loudly I don’t wanna talk to you! Eventually after a few moments he backs off but instead of going across the yard and finishing what he was working on he decides to open up the next lane right by us. I end up cashing out my whopping 6$ and end up leaving with all MY TVs that allegedly don’t belong to me. Long story short to anyone still reading this, unless you love unprofessional management and being disrespected directly to your face by employees just go somewhere else!!! This place went from my go to spot to the one location I’ll now go out of my way to avoid unless this issue is resolved which I don’t see how it can be considering I’ve thrown the TVs in dumpsters since yesterday and was only scrapping because I’m downsizing.

This place is a joke! They represent themselves to be professional and the best in the business yet their staff are unethical, lack integrity, and unprofessional! I took my son to recycle several bags of water bottles with the outcome being $15.88 but the lady only gave him $6.88 thinking he wouldn't notice the $9 difference! I took my son back and demanded they pay him what they owe him. They stated we are all human and it was a mistake. We all make mistakes but I believe $9 is not a mistake but rather them just trying decieve and take advantage of people. She needs to be fired! Either she doesn't know how to count or she did it on purpose but I'm sure a business would never hire someone unable to manage cash correctly so I believe she purposely took advantage of my son.

We've been coming here for years and it's always a fairly positive experience. Prices are fair. Sure, parking and cleanliness can be better but can't beat the convenience of getting in and out quickly.

I’m a homeowner but don’t mind taking old appliances to recycling businesses for years. I took my old washer here on a Saturday because everyone else was closed. Great place. Friendly people working here. If you’re a regular Jane or Joe and don’t want to go to a place where you feel like your car will be damaged or something will fall on you, go to Active. Open till 3:45 on Saturdays. Awesome.

I’ve been coming here for a couple years now and all the employees have been nice and helpful. Thank you for the great customer service.

Really never had any issues with this place. But today 2 or 3 employees did nothing but say the "F" word repeatedly in front of children. Also, not to professional when employees that are obviously dating are all over each other in front of your customers. Not how I'd run my business.

I don't think we will be coming to this place again. My husban took a huge industrial bag (pic is example of bag only) of already crushed cans, well over 40 pounds as the bag had to be put in truck by 2 men. Then some how recipe was given for only 27 pounds and were given 46.70 dollars. Very disappointing.

I've had a varied experience with OC Recycling. While they are generally fair in their dealings, I've encountered instances where some employees seemed hesitant to offer reasonable prices, especially for scrap wire. It's crucial for the staff to be well-informed about current market prices to ensure fair transactions. Despite occasional setbacks, the overall service has its merits, but price transparency could be improved.

For me, this is an easy way to recycle. Smelly, but easy to separate the recyclable in the individual yellow bins. These bins make the process quick and easy. I usually go just after they open in the morning went it is not too busy.

You need to update your hours on here, not just write them on a piece of paper and tape them to the sign next to your gate! Some a-hole kid locked me out when I pulled up at the gate at 3:50 pm. If we would've known you close at 3:45, we wouldn't have come at all. My husband was already inside. All I wanted to do was drop off a few bags. Rude workers, horrible customer service. It's cool though, we won't ever come back. My husband insisted we come here today, since the payouts used to be really good (but I guess that was back in the day). I usually go to Allan Co anyways, and that's where we'll continue to go. I used to go to the one in Baldwin Park, back in my day, until I moved down here to OC. They know how to treat their customers with respect. Maybe that's why they have multiple locations.

Great place to recycle - fast and friendly service. Long line of people moves quickly. Hardest part about recycling is not smiling when they hand you money $$$

I have been going here for about over 8 years. I mainly recycle electronics and I find their services easy to use and the staff helpful. Customer service has improved over the years and today was top. The only complaint I have is that the reception/payment windows need upgraded speakers, it is super hard to hear the staff.

They open every 7 days a week, which is so convenient for the residents, the people in site patient and very helpful .
