Scammers! They had me drive 20 miles for the advertised 530i as CPO. They said they pulling the car to the front prior to my arrival.
1- car isn't ready for sale they drove me somewhere 10 mins away just to see the car (no test drive) car was getting ceramic coated.
2- they car is advertised as CPO but car actually not a CPO and they told me they will take a look at the car tomorrow if there is so much things to be replaced they will not sell as CPO. If not they will sell as CPO.
3-They put ad ons to the car after the car price

Awful experience. Had tire replaced under warranty, not 5 minutes out the door and “check engine” light goes on. Return next day and get charged $253 to hook it up to their computer to get error code. Internal short on radiator blades - $1600+ to fix. Can just barely out of warranty and they won’t budge, too bad, though luck. Not even a credit for the “diagnostic”. Never again.

I was an out of state buyer so they were my boots on the ground so to speak and gave me confidence in the car I had chosen to purchase without doing a test drive/in person visit. So disappointed. Went to Sterling BMW for service from notices by email and mail that my car needed service. Service advisor, George, said don't need service until December 2026. So I thought I would take advantage of their courtesy car wash while I am there. Was quoted 45 minutes to an hour. I thought I would wait rather than go get lunch. After an hour and a half of patiently waiting, I went to the service stand to ask how much longer. Girl told me there was only 1 porter but she will find out and let me know. 20 minutes later the car was pulled up. I was so frustrated I just got in and left. As I was driving, I noticed that the windshield was still dirty and the inside was not vacuumed. I was getting more annoyed as I was driving and decided to write a review. I understand things happen, but to be quoted an hour and after 2 hours return the car not washed. Could have at least cleaned the windows, vacuum, and do a wipe down.

Bought a new 2024 Land Rover Range Rover for $117,500 (+ taxes/fees, total over $126K) from Sterling BMW in Newport Beach, CA, on December 10, 2025.
Arranged reputable shipping through Montway Auto Transport, who assigned SAFO Trucking Corp with proper bill of lading and USDOT#.
Instead, unauthorized Tommy’s Towing (Huntington Beach) arrived in a flatbed, no matching credentials, just a VIN and vague email, while transporting the vehicle on paper to a suspicious residential university address.
Sterling BMW ignored every glaring red flag, every protocol they have, and released the keys, and mentioned to me it felt “sketchy” but “all good.”
They also lied about the transportation towing company claiming they were part of the transporter’s business and going to drop it off to their “local tow yard to load up” and that it’s “totally normal.”
The vehicle was stolen on the spot. Since then? Crickets from the dealership. Zero communication, no check-ins, no offers of help, no attempt at resolution—nothing. They got their quick commission and washed their hands of it completely. No care whatsoever for a customer who just dropped six figures.
This is reckless negligence combined with appalling indifference. Dealerships know transport protocols inside out; they failed miserably and couldn’t care less afterward. Avoid Sterling BMW entirely—especially for remote purchases. Zero stars.Dec 23, 2025 -
I typically have positive experiences at Sterling BMW and have spent close to $2,000 and above here in the past year. I had planned on using this dealership for all of my maintenance needs, but after my most recent visit, I am extremely hesitant.
When I arrived to pick up my car after Sterling BMW washed it, I immediately noticed numerous scratches across the trunk area and around the rear window—scratches that were not present when I dropped the vehicle off. To make matters worse, the initial wash was poorly done; dirt and debris were still all over the car, and the cleaning had to be repeated before I could even leave the dealership. Paige also noticed the scratches and had to direct the team to polish my vehicle numerous times.
While the team attempted to buff out the scratches, several still remain. The finish on my vehicle is not in the condition it was when I brought it in, which is incredibly frustrating given the level of trust and investment I have placed in this location.
For the amount I invest in maintaining my BMW, I expect a much higher level of care and attention to detail. Damage occurring during a simple dealership wash—and requiring multiple attempts just to clean the car properly—is unacceptable. I believe compensation is warranted given the inconvenience, time lost, and the diminished condition of my vehicle.
I hope management takes this seriously and provides a direct resolution, along with assurance that steps will be taken to prevent this from happening to other customers.
I want to be very clear that I do expect compensation for the damage caused during this visit. BMWs are not cheap to maintain, and at minimum my vehicle should be cleaned properly and returned to me without scratches.
I would like Sterling BMW to provide an appropriate resolution, whether that is professional paint correction/detailing or another form of compensation. I am open to discussing this directly with the Director of Sterling BMW to ensure we can resolve this in a fair and timely manner.Dec 19, 2025 -

The after sale customer service is absolutely NONE.
Here’s what happened.
Due to work relocation, i decide to buy a used car mainly for commute purpose. Then I found the sterling BMW Newport Beach has this X1 available, which is close to my budget range.
I quickly contacted the sales person and the horror story started. I got deceived by the sales person Aaron throughout the whole car condition and price discussion.
I found out the spare key was missing (only 1 car key available ) after I’ve signed all the documents and made the deposit of $5000. The price to duplicate the key fob is $580.
This may explain why after the transaction was made, the sales person was gone, never reply email or giving solution. Even I copied the sales manager in the thread, still no clear plan to have a solution (either provide me a spare key nor giving me a discount price to get one….etc) these sales people just try to be silence and pretending nothing happened. If you don’t care anything after buying a car, you don’t need to worry. But if you expect any service or support after the transaction from this leadership, please think twice, three time, before coming to to Sterling BMW!!Nov 20, 2025 -
Racist, Deceptive, and Unprofessional - A Horrible Nightmare at Sterling BMW Newport Beach.
I am writing this review as a warning to anyone considering doing business with Sterling BMW in Newport Beach. My experience with the Service Representative Page was not just poor; it was a discriminatory and deceptive nightmare.
I brought my car in for standard recall work, expecting professional service. Instead, I was met with incompetence and what I can only describe as blatant racism. The staff treated me with disrespect and disregard from the moment I arrived.
The core of this nightmare is a lie they fabricated to avoid completing the work. They arbitrarily claimed my car was "totaled" and had a "salvage title," which is a complete and verifiable falsehood. My car is paid off, and I have the official title from the DMV in my hand that proves there is no salvage brand. When I pleaded with them to show me any proof to support their outrageous claim, they refused. They had no documentation, no report, nothing. They simply used this lie as an excuse to deny me the recall services I am entitled to.
I have even escalated this to BMW corporate, who have no record of my vehicle being totaled, further proving that Sterling BMW Newport Beach is acting in bad faith.
This company is deceptive, unethical, and operates with a shocking lack of integrity. They will invent falsehoods about you and your property, refuse to provide proof, and treat you horribly when you challenge them. I felt targeted and disbelieved simply because of who I am.
Do not trust them with your car or your business. I would give zero stars if I could. This has been the worst customer service experience of my life.

Great experience from start to finish. Aaron, the Client Adviser, has an incredible understanding of client needs and delivers accordingly. He helped me refine my vision for the vehicle I was looking for and never rushed me at any point. He checked in when necessary but also gave me the space to make my own decisions. Aaron was flexible with my schedule and even came in on a day off, which speaks volumes about his dedication and professionalism.
The finance team made sure everything was clear, with no extra costs integrated into the final price of the vehicle. They handled much of the paperwork and gave me ample time to ensure I was properly insured before driving off the lot.
Abraham did an amazing job explaining the up-to-date technology in the car, guiding me through recommended features that fit my needs.

As a first-time car buyer, I was pretty nervous, but Gustavo immediately put me at ease. He took me seriously, answered all my questions, and was kind, professional, and genuinely caring throughout the process. Sterling BMW and especially their so-called "BMW Genius" have given me the worst service I’ve ever experienced. I leased a BMW iX on September 7th, and they claimed to activate the Electrify America plan. When I went to use it, the charging didn’t work. So, I made an appointment and wasted time driving back to the dealership on September 21st.
The BMW Genius was completely clueless—he discovered that the Electrify America contract wasn’t even downloaded to my car and admitted that he had NO idea how to fix it. He promised to call me back on September 24th, but of course, that never happened. I left him a message, and STILL nothing. It’s shocking how little this so-called “Genius” cares about customers. After the sale, it’s like you don’t exist to them.
I’ve owned Lexus and Mercedes-Benz, and never have I encountered such complete incompetence and lack of professionalism. If you're thinking of dealing with Sterling BMW or relying on their BMW Genius, don’t waste your time. They don’t follow through, and they definitely don’t respect their customers.Sep 30, 2024 -

There is no doubt in my mind that there could be an easier, more pleasant car buying experience than the one you could have with Sterling BMW.
Custom ordered the last of the 2021 BMW i3s models at the end of July 2021, despite the manufacturer kicking it back. But Justin was able to work his business acumen and knowledge and get it done.
Two months later, and a week earlier than expected for the delivery date, I get one of the last BMW i3's in the US market! They could have sold this thing at $5k over sticker if they wanted!!
Thank you! Once again grateful for you guys and how far you go to make sure your customers are 100% satisfied.

This is my go to dealership for everything maintenance or questions related, even if I need a quick tire pressure check they'll take care of me. Tony really helped me out my SOS button malfunction, covered by the warranty so took care of that, they had to shuttle me home (they're contracted with uber). He also took care of my annual maintenance I have the bmw maintenance program but it's only been 6 months since my last tune up. I've definitely had poorer experiences at other dealerships, no issues here. Thanks guys!
