The pier was phenomenal. Got me some good fish. Great day! Definitely returning

One of my favorite places to spend time. Super clean, nice. But parking is expensive. 20$ for 6 hours.

Very clean. There was a major volleyball event happening, so might have been a little biased, but it was a very nice, family friendly atmosphere.

It is a nice beach with nice sand. There is a bathroom (with flush toilets) at the start of the pier. The lifeguards drove by several times in a truck. The water was cold, 68 degrees, but it was still swimmable. There is also a shower to wash off.

Beautiful place, too many fisherman, a tad excessive! Nice people but it's public space people camping with fishing gear buck, you can't be up there really.

I wish I could have more time to enjoy it… seems very fun, a lot of local shops and the beach is beautiful I will be back soon

Walk through and go to see the fisherman. You have all the side beach with a promenade and many many restaurants to stop by.

Such an amazing beach to go to. The boardwalk is very long and has a little bit of everything for every type of person! Great vendors, fresh markets, makers market, shops, food! Kid and dog friendly too. Highly recommend

Beautiful, clean beach. The staff at all the stores I visited were polite and pleasant. The cupcakes at Sprinkles were delicious. The auto ferry to the island was fun. I definitely recommend it for the kiddos. Perfect weather. Pricey parking, but the streets are clean and the infrastructure in general is well maintained, so it's worth it.. I look forward to my next visit

Beautiful and relaxing scenery!! Great place to chill, exercise, meditate, swim, surf, fish, and have fun!! It can get packed and difficult to find parking some days… just have to be patient… get there early if you want to enjoy the sunrise… sunsets are also breathtaking when you catch them!! You also may get a free dolphin show I just love the beach!!

Newport Beach offers a quintessential Southern California beach experience, though a few practical considerations are worth noting for visitors. Without a doubt, the beach at Newport is a major draw. The sand is consistently clean and well-maintained, inviting long strolls, sunbathing, and building sandcastles. The ocean water is generally clear and enjoyable for swimming or surfing. A significant hurdle for many visitors is parking. It can be incredibly difficult to find a spot, especially on weekends or during peak season. Even with early arrival, prepare for a hunt and potentially a bit of a walk to the sand. For those really struggling, exploring options like parking at nearby establishments like Starbucks or other restaurants (with a purchase, of course) might be a last resort on exceptionally busy days, though this is not a guaranteed solution and depends on the specific establishment's policies. The proximity of the (near the 32nd Street pole) is a huge plus. It's incredibly convenient for grabbing snacks, drinks, or any forgotten beach essentials. Beyond the supermarket, the area boasts a good selection of restaurants and, of course, Starbucks, offering plenty of food and beverage options throughout the day. One notable positive is the visible and effective security presence, which contributes to a feeling of safety and well-being while enjoying the beach. However, a significant area for improvement lies with the public restrooms. They are consistently not clean, which can be an unpleasant experience for beachgoers. It's advisable to plan accordingly or be prepared for less-than-ideal conditions when needing to use the facilities. Newport Beach remains a beautiful and enjoyable destination with its pristine sands and convenient access to food and drink. While the parking situation and cleanliness of the restrooms are definite drawbacks, the strong security presence and overall beach experience still make it a worthwhile visit for those willing to navigate these challenges.

The thing I like the most about the beach is no spot Is really a bad spot when you are there to relax. We parked away from the busy pier, and were still able to enjoy a calming beach experience. I go to the beach to take naps

Beautiful, Relaxing, and Full of Life! Newport Beach is one of my favorite places in Southern California! The beach is clean and spacious, perfect for long walks, sunbathing, or playing volleyball. The ocean views are stunning, especially at sunset. There are so many great restaurants and cute cafés nearby, plus shops and activities for everyone. I love the Balboa Pier area for its classic beach-town vibe and the ferry ride to Balboa Island is a must. Parking can be tricky on weekends, but it’s worth it. Whether you’re looking to surf, bike, shop, or just relax, Newport Beach has it all. Highly recommend visiting!

This is such a great place to wander around. The surfing is great and you can fish the pier if you want. There are a couple of local surfing schools with boards for rent and instruction. Plenty of good restaurants and interesting shopping.

Phenomenal pier to watch the sunset on. We saw dolphins as well. Not too crowded, and lots of places to eat nearby. Public restrooms as well.

Beautiful ocean views, great for a relaxing walk, fishing, or catching a sunset. Plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Can get busy on weekends, but it’s a classic SoCal spot worth visiting!

Paid parking available everywhere. Easy walk to the beach and dinning areas. Nice trail for walking and biking. Clean beach and clean water. A few areas for night fires on the beach. Playgrounds for kids and small pier to walk along with a restaurant at the end of it along with room for fishing off the pier. Bathrooms close by. Showers to on the beach to rinse sand off. Only negative was during our visit. This has nothing to do with the beach or the area just the people visiting the beach .At night a group of people were sitting off fireworks on the beach. Not sure what happened after that or any kind of security or police showed up. We just left immediately as soon as they started putting fireworks on the beach. Definitely a return destination.

Nice pier to wander down and check out the beach from a different vantage point. We didn’t spend much time here but was nice to visit on the walk.

Stopped by in the evening to fish with such beautiful weather that night but no luck no catch. People walking around in pairs and some children and even pets. Everyone was polite when sharing the walking area. The people at the very end were mingling in such a big open area which made it seem like a sort of venue for a party. I stopped by the restroom and it definitely isn't immaculate one of the stalls wouldn't lock so I went to the next some toilet paper in the floor and seemed to smell of urine on the tiles. At least the water was running to wash your hands which was nice. The scenic magnifiers were operational with many people stopped to use them and they seemed entertained for a good while. I saw people using the concrete benches to eat whether it was a sandwich or a donut from down below from the food areas. It was a good experience overall and for most part everyone seemed to be picking up their trash from eating or fishing.

Love Newport Beach, this weekend we ended up heading further into the peninsula to Newport Peninsula Park due to the rain and winds. As always, we had a great time.

The Newport Beach Pier is one of those special spots where time seems to slow down. Whether you’re catching a peaceful sunrise or watching the sky light up during sunset, the ocean views here are just breathtaking. It’s a welcoming, laid-back place where families can relax, kids can play freely in the sand, and everyone can enjoy the nearby restaurants, bars, and ice cream shops just steps away.

Perfect beach experience in the small town. You can get to everything you want with an electric scooter. The pier, little shops & lots of food options,. The beach is clean and not over crowded. The locals and visitors are all very friendly.. You can find a couple cute seashells while getting some relaxation and beautiful tan.

Newport Beach & Pier is a perfect mix of relaxation and scenic beauty. The pier offers stunning ocean views, making it a great spot for a peaceful stroll or catching the sunset. The surrounding beach is clean and lively, with plenty of space to unwind by the water.

This is an iconic pier with great views of the sea and the beach. Be mindful that probably parking will be an issue because it can get busy. There’s a parking area just outside of the pier entrance but it’s small. Or you can park on the street. Be careful because the machines don’t exactly work so you’ll have to pay with your phone. There are free restrooms with public access and plenty of options to eat and drink.
