I had my Mercedes repair service. Jeff explained the problem and repair works very clearly. Cost is reasonable. In addition, they found out and fixed the fuel gas leak even though I didn't mention to them. This is the car service centre I can trust.

Fed up with mechanics who claim to fix your issue only for it to resurface two weeks later? Look no further. I stumbled upon Automax Service Center off Camelback, and let me tell you, these guys are the genuine article. Honesty and integrity are their guiding principles, and Jeff and his crew are committed to getting the job done right.

Shop diagnosed coolant leak as cracked plastic radiator tank. Asked about replacing with a radiator with a metal tank. Shop said "they are all plastic" so the vehicle has another plastic tank radiator. I discovered after the service that there are radiators with metal tanks available for the vehicle. Shop replaced radiator but did not replace radiator cap. As a result I had a coolant leak when vehicle parked after being driven and vehicle was running about 10 degrees hotter than it should before I figured out that the old cap had insufficient pressure. With new cap, vehicle started leaking coolant from another place on the engine. Investigated and found the clamp on the upper end of the lower hose was tightened insufficiently when the shop replaced both radiator hoses. When I picked up the vehicle there was a half dollar sized grease stain on the bottom cushion of the driver's seat. Although I was able to remove the stain in about an hour myself, the seat was not stained when I dropped off the vehicle, the stain was obvious to anyone entering the vehicle to drive it and the shop made no mention of it when I picked up the vehicle. With a shop rate of $186 per hour I expected a decent level of expertise and service. Based on some of the other reviews it appears that is what those folks got. I, on the other hand, did not. I was disappointed with the shop's performance. I rated at two stars rather than one as the shop's contact is friendly, polite and communicative.

Took a GL in for a ton of service and repair. Great contact and updates. They diagnosed multiple issues quickly. They aren't inexpensive however there's no such thing as inexpensive Mercedes repair if it's done right.

I went here for fixing leaking oil emergency searching by Goggle map. I explained the situation, however as soon as the shop guy saw oil leaks from my car, he said to me 'You can't stay here, just leave'. I tried to explain more but he just shouted me 'Go away, Go away' More than 25years of life in Los Angeles, I never had this bad experience. I just needed a help to go back home before the oil runs out.... I felt obius racism first time in 25 years. It was sad sad moment in my life. Please just Don't go there if you're not white. . . From the owner: Hiro, We recall the encounter very well. You were asked to park your van on the street because it had a severe oil leak that was leaking all over the new pavement and which another shop had recently repaired . We recommended you tow it back to the shop that made the repairs. I am sorry you were having a stressful day but what you experienced that day was not racism. Most of our crew is made up of diverse cultures that are considered part of the family and have been with us for decades. I wish you well and hope you had your issues taken care of. . I think it was deleted. . . Here's my reply to the owner: Yes, the oil leaking problem was taken care of at another repair shop near by your shop 'Airport Auto Repair', right after I left your shop. People at 'Airport Auto Repair' welcomed me and even though oil is leaking badly, and found the problem. It's just transmission's oli cap was loose and it makes oil leak. I gave them a five star. I think this is what repair shop has to do. I was away from home and desperate at that time, desperately wanted to fix and go back home. You refused to do any thing, you JUST care your new pavement, but not customers, am I right? I will never forget the moment, thank you.

Jeff Vannoy and his crew go above and beyond in all aspects. That's what any good thriving business is all about. His working crew is smart, transparent, and reliable. Just solid dudes. I really enjoyed interacting with Brian and Jeff when trying to fix our car issues. I am a fan of the business in many ways, from the honest communication, VERY QUICK turnaround, commitment to get you to/from the service center to where you need to go, and how well they price their services for the quality you get. I highly recommend this business to get your car fixed and on the road.

I've been with Automax from the time it was Mark's automotive. Very trustworthy. Not cheap, but not overly expensive either. Very careful and thoughtful analysis of your car. I really wouldn't go elsewhere. The few negative reviews are very puzzling to me. Several of my friends ALSO go to Automax and speak highly of it.

i take my land rover and corvette for service needs, always get a call prior to repairs, very customer oriented and much better for your wallet than the dealers. . And your car is washed when you pick it up!

First of all, heard most of the 4/5 starts are either his close friends or family members with fake review. This may or may not be true. All i can say is my own personal experience with this place. Stay away as some say here, it is a ripoff. Had my BMW taken there for check light engine since there are close to where i work in Newport. Received a call from the owner himself for an Estimate to be $1800. to fix the "problem before it gets worse". In my naivety & not having time to check him out, i said ok. 2 weeks later the same problem showed, check engine light on. I took it to them, they wanted another $2000. I took it to Fletcher Jones and they did it with $180. This was few months back until i read today other ONE STARS. The owner is a crook, some of his technician know nothing since they are cheap labor he hires, i heard. Avoid headache, save your money and Stay away from this place. Max

These past couple weeks have been a hassle trying to get repairs done to my car. The part I dislike the most is researching for the right place that is professional and helps people feel welcomed. I found Auto Max Service through a Google search, I gave them a call and was greeted by a friendly representitive he then transferred me to Jeff who immediately made me feel welcomed and like he actually cared about my situation. Before Jeff I called Arco Star Smog and Repair for an estimate they said their computer was "acting up" and will have to give me a call back (never called back). Went to jiffy lube early in the morning and the two guys there seemed less than happy to see that they had business coming in. To summarize I booked an appointment with Jeff and I am looking forward to it!

AutoMax leaves their annoying flyers on my car in every parking lot I go to. I finally decided to give them a try and they ripped me off. They charged me over $700 for a timing belt replacement. When I asked around at other shops they all quoted me in the mid-$200 range so I'm not sure how Auto-Max thinks their service is worth so much more. Save yourself money and a hassle. Choose a different mechanic.
