Benny is the BEST! I needed my tires checked last minute after the tire pressure light came on. He checked all tires and found a nail in one of them. By this time it was already closing time for him and he didn’t hesitate to replace that tire for me. Thank you for your kindness Benny, god bless you
I don’t usually give bad reviews but I feel it’s necessary. First of all I called to book an appointment, I go to my appointment only to be told it wasn’t put their system. I then book another appointment for a different day and ask how long the service will take they told me around 1 hour to 1 and a half hours. I waited 2 and a half hours for them to turn around and say the AC machine broke and that they aren’t able to do the service I had booked in for. Not only did they waste my time but they hadn’t even looked at my car until 2 and a half hours after my car had been dropped off.
THIS STORE REALLY SUCKS DO NOT GO HERE THEY WAISTED MY TIME!!! I only gave 1 star so I can write a review. I made an appointment on the 27th of December 2025 at 11am. The guy that helped me said it will take 2-3 hrs for my tires to be changed & aligned, so i paid for a lyft ride to get home. I have waited for their texts for an update on my service but nothing. I went back there at 330pm & my car was still outside untouched. The guy on the counter said there was a waiting time or extended hours, I said yeah you could have I formed me. I was told to come back after 3hrs & I was expecting to get my car so I can go to my commitment at 630. The guy who talked to me wasn't even bothered. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE WHERE YOU WILL BE VALUED AS A CLIENT!
Don't bother making an appointment online! If you want to know how long the wait is going to be, call the store and talk to a service advisor because the website is worthless.
TOTAL SCAMMERS HERE!! Wish there was a ZERO star option. Visited this location yesterday for a 120 point inspection for my Toyota 86 to make my buyer feel more comfortable. Upon arrival I spoke with Matt (supposedly the manager) who said this inspection HAS to come with an oil change. Asked him let’s say hypothetically I changed the oil this morning, do I still have to? & he said yes. Absolutely ridiculous. Talked to the guy whom I booked the appointment with and he said they’ll do the $75 for the 120 inspection only as told over the phone. I was told 45 min for the inspection & car didn’t get done for almost THREE hours. Afterwards, they said “someone cross threaded some of my bolts previously” in order for them to replace it would cost $588 total!!!! Long story short, walked out with 4 out of 5 bolts and was handed the broken bolt! Also, they mentioned my engine has a leak??? They showed me some wetness around the valve cover gasket (barely wet). My car is always parked on the driveway and not once I’ve seen a leak! I’m not saying the car is in excellent condition, it has 90k miles on it but it’s a TOYOTA after all!!! But it is in VERY GOOD condition at the very least. “The manager” Matt is one of the most unprofessional people I have ever met. Just trying to take advantage of women and make money at this shop! Avoid at all cost & take your car somewhere trustworthy. Mind you, I had also taken the car to my trusted family mechanic a day prior to avoid any possible surprises at Pepboys. My mechanic told me there is no issues with the car, is in very good condition to be sold with a clean conscious.
Very bad. I called them to ask about the price of oil change, and he started mocking me and told me it would cost $1,000. This shows that the owner of this place is disrespectful to people, and I do not recommend anyone to come here. What a joke!
Called for an oil change and was told to come on in, no wait. We show up and get yelled at for not having an appointment. They make us make an appointment for the next day and its still a 2.5 hour wait for an oil change
Lake Forest pep boys has finally found a team player in Matt the store manager. As a loyal fleet account for over 10 years, this manager has literally been turning this store location around. My account has been through over 12 managers at LF and none have been able to grab the store by the reins and handle the BS like this guy. His mechanic crew in the back have been solid and seem to be keeping up to his progress expectations. He obviously knows what he is doing. Nice to see pep boys finally spent some money on getting better leadership
Alfonso provided outstanding service with late notice. My car was towed to Pep Boys with a flat tire well after 6pm, and Alfonso went above and beyond to ensure that the replacement job was completed before closing at 7pm. Thank you for the efficiency!
Tried to BS me by giving me an invoice for tire rotations with run-flat tires which cost more while my tires were not. If I hadn't checked, I would have blindly just paid that. The actual service man was kind, attentive and communicative though.
They have a good app which notify the customers the progress of their work on your car. However, I hope they have an appointment app which can show you when to come for the service. I was there in the morning according to the appointment set ups, but they delayed till afternoon to start working on my car that left me waiting for extra 4 hours. Simply not thoughtful.
I had a very disappointing experience at Pep Boys. I brought my car in to have a tire fixed, and the technician, Enrique, initially assured me it would be ready within two hours. After waiting for over two hours, Eddy came to inform me that they couldn't fix my tire and that I would need to purchase a new one. This level of service is unacceptable. I expected better communication and professionalism from their team. I will think twice before returning
Good, straight forward customer service and work was finished within schedule. Want to give a special shout out to Benny, last time we were there he provided us with an exceptional experience.
Great value! Very fairly priced for labor and they did a free 21 point inspection of my car after they installed my tires. Great service from employees as well. Highly recommended

Got a flat tire on my work van and made it to Pep Boys just before closing. They took care of me right away and had a new tire on within the hour. Great customer service and a really friendly team — I appreciate them getting me back on the road so quickly
BAD EXPERIENCE! They draw out your repair and in the end cannot fix what they are supposed to! They make up stupid reasons while the mechanics stand around talking and not doing any work on the cars. They cannot get parts anymore and it seems like the business has many locations closing! AVOID THIS AND ALL PEP BOYS! Get a reliable mechanic!
Had a tire coming apart on the freeway during a work trip late on a Sunday around 4:40 PM. Most tire shops were closed or about to close. I tried Costco first, but their service was terrible — the manager basically said, “absolutely not.”
Then I called the team at Pep Boys. They actually checked to make sure they had the tire I needed and told me to come in. They welcomed me in, and despite being close to closing, they worked hard to get me back on the road. I ended up buying a full set of four tires, and these guys stayed past closing time to finish the job.
Super thankful for their willingness to help — they could’ve easily said no, but they didn’t. These guys are the real deal!
Don’t recommend this place at all. Rude management and to to “busy” to work on car I had to drive to the RSM location where those guys are actually really helpful. The turnaround time is a lot better and their communication time is through the roof. Don’t come to this one. I would recommend going to the one in RSM. They will treat you right.(:
I get that they weren't a reccomend3eed provider for my can warranty...they could have just refused to check my car out instead of making me pay 100 for an inspection for things I already know is wrong with my cat hence my reason for bringing it in. They didn't have to lie to me about how they supposedly submitted what needed to be fixed to my warranty company...they didmt dubmit shit. That's just working in bad faith. They told me what they charge is more than what my warranty company is willing to pay for labor. I knew I was being lied to so I called my warranty company and it turns out my warranty company never got a call about my cat at all or submission after sitting in that shop untouched for 3 weeks.
I had an appointment scheduled for 4:00 PM and dropped off my car at 1:00 PM for a simple two-tire replacement, which typically takes about 30 minutes. However, I never received any update. When I called around 4:45 PM, Enrique informed me that my car wouldn’t be worked on until the next day.
I explained that I had made the appointment two days in advance and needed the car early the next morning. He dismissed my concern, stating that the corporate appointment system is “useless” and that the online appointments don’t reflect actual availability. I pointed out that this should have been communicated when I dropped off the car, but he was completely unapologetic and indifferent.
Very disappointing experience — appointments should mean something, and customers deserve better communication and respect for their time.
The AI review of this shop needs to update itself. Oil changes are NOT fast and efficient. It took three and a half hours (with an appointment that I had booked last week!) and it was only three and a half hours because at the three hour mark, I said that I was done waiting and would kindly take my car back. Suddenly it was finished in 20 minutes. If I hadn't said anything, I think I would have been in that waiting room for several more hours. It was also VERY overpriced for just a simple oil change. GO ELSEWHERE FOLKS!
The team at this location was top notch. I had an emergency situation with my vehicle and needed the service done same-day. I went in and they were very accommodating.
Alfonso helped me pick the right tires for my needs. Carlos did an amazing job helping with every part of the service of my vehicle. He even put the spare tire back in position for me on my truck. And finally...Matt, the Store Manager, was very courteous and helped close the transaction and answer any final questions I had.
One thing I thought was amazing was that they called me right before doing the actual work to verify everything they were about to do was what I expected. Nobody else has ever done that.

I had a very unpleasant experience and won't be returning. I made an appointment for vehicle maintenance at 10 AM on February 1st through the Caradvise app. I arrived on time and, after checking in, was told it would take about an hour. So, I went to a coffee shop nearby to wait. After a little over an hour, I returned to the store and found that my car's maintenance hadn't even started. Meanwhile, a lady who checked in after me had already completed her service and left with her car. It was only then that they started working on my car. I ended up waiting an additional 45 minutes standing there before the service was finally completed. I'm not sure what caused this apparent discrimination, making me wait till the end to be serviced. Also, they didn't put any protective covers on my seat and steering wheel during the maintenance, resulting in some grease on my steering wheel.
