What in the Colin Karpernick is going on with our Trash ? If these Men wanted an entire week off they should have used their PTO. Our neighborhood trash hasn’t been emptied since the 4th of July. There are plenty more people that would love a job like that with all its benefits. So you still expect a payment for a job NOT done? They should all be Suspended if not fired. My husband’s 3 Crews could drive those trucks if you need new temporary employees. This is ridiculous! I need to be reimbursed for two weeks of your ungrateful employees who wanted an extra long Holiday while us tax payers suffer the rodents and over filled trash bins an cans You All should be ashamed of yourself and if they don’t want to work, there are plenty other people looking for jobs! Lay and entitled!

Worst company ever. I dont just blame the company though. Like most employees represented by a union, these employees want to be paid like they have a doctorate degree from a university for pushing a button on a truck to lift trash containers. Shame on Republic for not bargaining in good faith, and shame on their employees for being so money hungry. You want to be paid like upper middle income, but your job does not reflect that pay. We need to have a union busting hiring spree and let the courts fight the employees and unions. If airlines cant go on strike, trash services should be the same. My business trash has not been picked up since Thu, 7/10/25, and my home trash since Fri 7/11/25. Both are located in Santa Ana.
Waited less time than the person who left the last comment! 54 minutes on hold! Waiting for bulk service pick up after neighbors added to the pile I'd previously called in. I've dealt with the same lady who answered the phone. She was helpful and kind. Also used public dump with cars waiting behind. A simple "park car on scale and come to the window with credit card" sign would have been a nice touch for newbies feeling peer pressure.
I actually really like Republic. They always have clean trucks and the drivers are friendly. I absolutely hate however, when you call a business or agency and they don't answer the phone. I need to schedule a bulk item pick up and been on hold and called 3 different numbers. You know it's just an excuse when the pre recorded message says they're experiencing extremely high call volume. It's like oh everyday? You can't maintain the call center on a public service? The DMV is not the gold standard for customer service. I actually need to work too but I'm on hold for over an hour to get someone on the phone.
They have a horrible service for pick up the trash on the day they are supposed to do it.
Update: the supervisor just called me and said they will take care of this issue.
Ever since Republic took over for Waste Management it has been a headache after another. First was when they came to deliver what I thought was a new bin from WM, our original servicer, to our HOA complex without warning. Then I realized they were not new and were smaller and had a label with very specific items on it that could be thrown away. The images made it look more like a donation bin with clothes, dishes and garden hose, but no food allowed? We were so confused until it took a few phone calls to find out WM was being replaced by Republic. That was in 2020.
Fast forward to last summer of 2023 when we were delivered the carts for Organics and Recyclables that usually go to the single family residences but we are a townhome complex so all of us are sharing the 2 carts. So on top of our main commercial dumpster, our HOA is having to pay to separate our food waste for compost when typically people would compost their own scraps for free to get organic soil. Additionally we have to pay for the Recycling cart when we are charged CRV for the sodas and drinks that we're supposed to recoup at the recycling center. Now we have to pay an additional $75/month per cart on top of our commercial dumpster cost to haul away compost and recyclables that homeowners didn't have to pay for before and would recoup their own compost and recycling money.
To add insult to injury the first 3 months we had the carts the Organics bin was not getting picked up. I was calling each week last summer with promises it would be escalated for pick up and never was for 3 months! They were billing us the whole time after which I had to request a credit back each time, I remember having to make 12 calls while I was at work or on the way, 1 per week for 3 months until they finally picked it up. The worst part was seeing the driver haul the carts through the walk-in gate one morning instead of driving in the actual gate like they usually do for our main commercial dumpster. Why wouldn't they have the access code if it's the same company hauling the trash? I had to give the driver our access code so he didn't have to walk our carts all the way through the little gate to the street!
Fast forward to now 2024 and we're running into the same problem again. The Organics & Recycling carts are not getting picked up for the last few weeks but our commercial dumpsters are getting picked up regularly. Each time I call the customer service rep is very accommodating promising to escalate it just like last year with no pick ups happening. It's been almost a month now and I'm wondering if they decided to take summer off since it's the same thing that happened last summer same time. I hope we don't have to wait 3 months again for our entire HOA's Organics trash to be picked up. So incredibly frustrating and incompetent, Waste Management was so much better, we never had to deal with this much hassle and more work on our end just to take out the trash! And we're paying more for it! It's no wonder people are leaving this state!
All 3 times I've had to call over the years, I've had a very pleasant experience with the person on the phone. I've never had a negative experience with them.
Love that my trash and recycle is picked up every week and we have a free HHW drop off in our city at their Nichole location. Also love the ability to get large items picked up for free.
I have spoken Vanessa she rude and was not willing to listen or help even told me my trash had already been pick up. This is business account and of course she had no idea the same issue happen last week. After waiting for over 15 minutes to speak to a manager she got back on the phone to let me know Republic Services does not allow customers to be on hold for over 5 minutes. I found this strange, so I asked again for a manager and mention to her our conversation was recorded and was planning to talk to a manager not so much about missing my pick up but more about how rude she was.
30 minutes finally spoke to Michael a manager so professional, he listen to my issue, off course not the trash any more but the attitude of Vanessa the customer service.
Joke of a company. Spent an hour and a half ordering a dumpster and top of that employees can't even spell. Extremely frustrating dealing with them. Not professional at all.
This place is a complete racket. But that's what happens when you're the Monopoly in the area. You make your own rules make your own prices as you go along not even from this area and I see the crookedness in this company. Kind of feel bad for the area that has to use them all the time.
You know what's really kinda cool? So every week I end up with all this trash. I put it outside at the curb and the next day, it's gone! Incredible. It would really suck if these Republic folks didn't just happen to come down my street each week and take care of all of the garbage I accumulate. I would argue that this is one of the most underappreciated utilities. Good work, garbage people!
I Scheduled For A Recliner Chair Pick Up, It Is Demonic & Evil Republic Service Didn’t Come. I Dislike The Fact I Knew They Weren’t Coming, Then The Houseless People Were Terrorizing The PowerLift Chair .Words Of Wisdom Don’t You All Use This Service.
I called Republic to remove an old sofa and other junk and they did so on the scheduled date, efficiently. Republic also removes our recycling weekly and the drivers are always nice and friendly.
I don’t understand all of the negative reviews, not that they aren’t real, but that there are so many. I’m a residential customer and have had great customer service when I call for “big item pick ups”. I just called about Christmas tree pick up and the customer service representative could not have been more pleasant or helpful. Maybe the company has turned the corner on their previous issues.
Crooks!!! Never got credited for when they were on strike and now trying to charge me for an "overage" that, in the picture they took, is not even my property. The customer service rep said she'd "forward my concern to the appropriate department." @#$%^!!!!!
My God dumping has gotten expensive! If you are unfortunate enough to have to go here, you'll have to guess which way you are supposed to be going once inside the compound. And, you'll only know for sure which way is the right way when some random workers yell at you for going the wrong way. Haha. . Oh, trash truck drivers are as rude to each other inside the compound as they are to the public out on our streets. So, it probably won't do any good to call and complain next time they honk their obnoxiously loud horn at you or if they don't pick up your trash because the lid wasn't down tight. But this is a public dump I'm talking about. What is one to expect?! Don't get your hopes up for rosey scents and excellent customer service. It's a get in, and get the hell out as fast as you can kinda place... if you can find the exit!

It's been one week later since the trash WASN'T picked up at my apartment.

Not only my apartment's trash WASN'T picked up, but I noticed that my whole block had the same problem as well. NOT even the trash was picked up from my nearest liquor store nor the restaurant next to it. It's terrible, very frustrating that Republic Service is putting HB in unsanitary conditions.
Then I found out that the trash collectors
from Republic Service we're on strike just standing there.... collecting dust instead working picking up the trash. How absurd of them.
This trash company should have their business license taken away.
5 Months for a refund. Oh, and I still never received it. Just bad business all around. I never received a dumpster but they charged my card 500.00. I would NEVER advise anyone to use them!
Collection of IDIOTS! Called on November 8th to schedule a rent a bin for November 17th! Paid, signed contract, and took the day off in anticipation of receipt. NOPE! Four phone calls later, with each one promising that a proverbial supervisor would indeed be in contact, NOTHING. Worthless PILES!
Bin rental: when this was Rainbow I would order a bin for Saturday morning and it would be picked up on Tuesday, no problems no fuss and would hand the driver my check, job done! I ordered a bin by phone last week for drop off on Saturday and pick up Tuesday. No more checks so had to pay by card. Organized my help for Saturday and the bin was a no show! Called on Monday and told it was not sent because I didn’t sign the contract, never got one, and the bin wouldn’t be sent without one, and no cannot sign in the presence of the driver. What a dam mess. I will use another service as these people are a joke!!!
Horrible service, I recently tried to rent a trash bin and the rep tried to charge me nearly $600 for an 8 yard container, saying it was the smallest size... until I kept asking about the 3 yard containers for $75 I used to get, he was finally able to figure it out, then it took about ten minutes on the phone for a service that was simple in the Rainbow Disposal Days
UNRELIABLE. I ordered a bin, they charged my card for the entire amount then did not deliver the bin. When i tried to call about it, got the run around and was told they made a mistake, “it happens” and was told by 4 different people they would call me back and none did.
Goal to get larger trash can. First they ask for address, then found out after 2 tries, they recorded wrong address. Corrected, added an exchange date. No exchange. Called again said will come on off-day to exchange. Saw truck in front of garage, then just took off. Called again to exchange and again left out until Tuesday. NOw have to call today, 6x's to replace a trash can with no follow-up.
I did not have the best experience with this company..I ordered and payed for a dumpster ladt weekenf.I was promised a dumpster by friday between 8 and 21 am. The time came and went no dumpster. I called back and was promised it was on its wY out. 3 pm still no dumpster. I had people here to help me. I had to send them home. I called back and was informed that was charged wrong price and then was asked if I signed paperwork. This was the first i had heard of it. Then I was told I could not get a dumpster delivered that weekend. I work graveyard shift and at this point its 4 pm...i had not had any sleep waiting all day. I was told this weekend i would get one but I have to wait between hours of 8 to 5...I will probably not use this service again...will see if I get the dumpster and not have to wait all day again..
Absolute disgrace! People with attitude, useless and trying their best to upset clients who pay for a service and NOT finding a solution or offering options. Throwing false accusations and acting defiant! Wake up it is a world of customer service you guys are acting like fools. Congratulations you are literally running a trash company!! Could not be any trashier...
All of the people in customer service are inept. I received misinformation, bad information, and conflicting information. Nobody at this company was useful in any way.
This company would get negative stars if it were possible to give.
Taxpayers, your tax dollars are being wasted when your city contracts with this company.
