The place sucks.i normal go to the place on western and katella and get more money for what I got here for the amount I did today I normal would make 40 dollars and today the person here gave me 13 dollars for everything.this place is a joke and rip off do not go here
I fill up my containers to the top and then I recycle. One plastic and one aluminum cans. Same process for 2 years. I usually recycle on Knott but didn’t feel like making the drive. On average I get 24-28 dollars in comparison to 16 here. Just sharing my experience.
It's highly advisable to not recyle here and to pey attention to the comments provided by actual customers and not the feedback from the owner themselves or paid for by the owner.
The biggest thing to look at to gain an insight to what your experience will be like is to look at the owners response.
- not only do they not apologize for the unsatisfactory customer experience, but they don't even acknowledge that it happened by refuting the claims by justifying their behavior.
Unfortunately I did not get the same 5 star experience, they where both a couple of young kids on there video game and have no real explanation as to why they where still open if they weren't taking any more recycling. Hopefully in the future my experience will be better.
Place "runs out of cash" all the time, and they expect you to come when it's convenient for them, to claim your cash. Talked to the guy who told me this, and I had been direct and told him that I couldn't come the next day, and he stated that I could "come whenever it was convenient." Well, I come back, and they took my money and didn't accept the receipt when I handed it to them. Don't come to this place- they quite literally steal your money
My experience at Sunset Recycling this Sunday the 6th, was not so good. The guy looked as if he didn't want to do his job and I also didn't like how he treated others. He was working very slow and then also explaining too much when one made a mistake or did something he didn't quite agree with. Overall, he was kind of irritating and annoying, and it bothered me and others as I could tell by their faces and also their mood as they left.
Talk about professionalism!! This man, Jeff, he knows how to run a proper business. He is clean, polite, informative, and a great guy. He doesn't cheat you of your money and he educates you on how to prepare your bottles to get the best buck. Honesty and dedication, this man does it all. I recommend this place over all the other places around this area.
It is actually my first time coming here & honestly I will be back. Jeff was kind and was very thorough with his job. He explained everything. He was up front and inform his customer’s if he has space, the time of business, & make sure his area stays clean (no plastics scattered on the ground) He was honest and I like that.
Come prepared - separate your recycle & don’t over fill the thinging (where u place the recycles) to prevent from dropping on the ground when it is taken to the weighing scale .
A plus - like the fact he informs the weight, & how much he deducts due to the net container. Honest & good customer service. Heads up - he talks a lot but he means all good .

I don't normally post but...this is such a great place to recycle! Workers are what make a good company and Jeff who works here is so courteous, fair and honest..(and so knowledgeable)! It is a pleasure doing business here.
The only complaint I have is that when Nick and the company don't pay the guy that works there for weeks on end and then they don't give him the cash infusion he needs to pay customers and then when they do bring him money instead of bringing ones and change they bring them $5 bills when the average customer doesn't even take that much each transaction that's my complaint otherwise just doing a great job if you just had a little support from his company boy the business they could do
I came to sell aluminum cans on Sunday 03/21/21 , the guy said he's out of money, I said will be back Monday then. But he said, he won't get cash until Friday ! Wow, he doesn't do business for the next 4 days? Very rude guy !
If I could put a negative, I would... I walked passed the bins, pushing a shopping cart with two bags of cans (because I don't have a car and the cart was left by the side of the road) turned my head and looked at the blond, scraggly, white guy who immediately said as rude as humanly possible, "first of all ma'am! I am on lunch! second, we don't allow carts!" I said "that's fine but why did the place on Euclid and La Palma take me an hour ago?" He said "that's not us and it's illegal to have shopping carts! Can't you see the sign?! We don't...! Take!.. Carts!" I said "In fact, I haven't a chance to read any signs before you started yelling at me!"
If that's how he greets a person at first sight then you better believe that I will NEVER EVER set foot near that place again....
