Unfortunately I had a really negative experience here. I Brought my car in for stalling issues. I was sent an image of rodent droppings on my engine cover and a few acorn hulls after inspection. They told me that before they diagnosed my issue they would need to clean the rodent biohazard for $500. I told Jacob I had experienced this before and it was too high of a price and he immediately dropped the price to $250 (I don’t feel I should have to bargain at a garage, why are there two prices?) . He said that there was nesting material and told me that it wasn’t shown in the photo. Sensing this wasn’t true, I decided to bike to wayside to check out the car myself, only to discover that there were no nests, No nesting material, and only the few droppings and hulls on the engine cover that would have taken 3 minutes to remove, hose off and sanitize.

This exchange was super dishonest and I feel that they were trying to take advantage.
The friendliness of your staff, especially Jacob. I felt he was knowledgeable and trustworthy. He explained the service clearly and the costs that would be incurred in possible (requested) repair. I also enjoyed the shuttle service another women driver. Great service.
I just had my tires replaced and I couldn’t be happier! The whole experience went even better than I expected. Huge shoutout to the crew at Wayside, they truly went above and beyond. Abraham was especially sweet and helpful, and everyone there treated me with such genuine care. You can really tell they value their customers. My new tires are perfect, and I’ll definitely be coming back!
This garage is overpriced. I needed my front brakes replaced and they said it would be 2000 dollars. While their pictures and documentation are thorough their price estimates are not. They would not provide an estimate that itemized labor and parts. I called two other shops and received estimates lower by 1000 dollars. When I told them I would pick up the car they said they found parts for cheaper and could lower the price by 500 dollars, still over 500 more than the two other estimates. Additionally, they could not explain why it was 2000, just that “these things are expensive”. I am giving two stars because it is easy to schedule an online appointment and they do give detailed pictures of the issue.
We are new to Monterey County and to Wayside Garage and have to say that our gut didn’t lie. We specifically picked them after reading about their family mission and philosophy, which they definitely lived up to. They took good care of our Mazda, recommending the TLC it needed, without being pushy. We really did leave feeling like part of their auto family.

My car had the check engine light Brandon read the computer and found a miss fire code. He order the parts and scheduled the repair, this was very important to me since my job is an Uber driver. The whole staff were very professional and the mechanic did a great job. Thanks Wayside Garage
this place is an absolute joke! my van started bogging out on the freeway but still running, just felt like something was clogged or exhaust flow. I am not a mechanic but im very in tune with my vehicles and i in no way shape or form felt like it was a transmission issue. left my car there thursday at 3. called friday and said i had to leave the car over the weekend. when in the office thursday abraham at the front desk acting like its not gonna be a big deal, sounds like a misfire. get a call monday morning with the news my transmission is done for and it will be 30,000 dollars to fix it. That is not a type-o THIRTY THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!!! My van is a 2001 gmc savana that i got a screaming deal on for 1600 dollars. Who in the you know what do these guys think they are???? for 1 i told him this is my 3rd van in 2 years and the transmision went out on the one i bought before this so i know the cost already. He proceeds to tell me 7,000 for the transmission. Which is ridiculous, but just for a good laugh lets say it was. THAT LEAVES 23,000 DOLLARS FOR LABOR???? are you putting a ferrari transmission in my 25 year old van??
absolute joke! got the paper work with highlighted notes. catastophic failure of my transmission, low fluid and major leak. they didnt top it off, didnt do anything to fix anything. told me to part it out and when shopping for another van to bring it in there first and they would make sure its ok for $180....... BUT WAIT, I JUST PAID $250??? i seriously had to hold back and play it cool because i was livid.
after leaving this fine establishment , which they insisted i didnt drive my van i rolled right over to oreilys spent 30 bucks on some fluids started up the beast and drove it to santa cruz and back to monterey without any "catastropic" issues. THE NUMBER 30,000 DOLLARS IS SO OUT OF LINE I WANT TO KNOW IF THERE IS ANYTHING I CAN DO. I DONT LEAVE REVIEWS NOR AM I HATER BY ANY MEANS BUT THESE PPL DISRESPECTED ME AND THIS SHOP IS AN ABSOLUTE MONEY STEALING BUNCH OF STEREO TYPICAL AUTO SHOP UNTRUSTWORTHY .......I WONT SAY THE REST.
The dealer I’d been going to for over a decade told me my hybrid wouldn’t start because of a problem with its AAA battery, which was less than a year old. The dealer replaced the battery and two weeks later, the car wouldn’t start again. The Wayside team picked up the car, ran several tests, replaced some parts, and now my car is running fine. Yesterday I drove it for the first time in a week and it started right up. I’m not going back to the dealer.

I had to get the engine replaced in my Mitsubishi Mirage (aka the Bluebird), and Wayside Garage did an amazing job. I had it towed in on a Monday, and by Friday it was ready—running perfectly and looking like new. They returned it in mint condition. I’ve been bringing all my cars here for years and have always had a great experience. Their customer service is top-notch, and the work they do is consistently excellent. Highly recommend!

I don’t think you’ll find better customer service anywhere. I had an issue with a service and it was fully resolved with a good attitude. Prices are not a deal though - standard peninsula premium rates. I have to drive to get better prices.

Our camper van’s brakes were squealing something fierce during our interstate trek and despite several mechanics looking it over and working on it, our van seemed to always need repair.
Early this morning the brakes started to grind and sheer luck led us to call Monterey Mobile RV Repair. Without hesitation he sent us to the best crew who could help us out and get us back on the road.

We’re moving from Coastal Oregon to Cleveland, Ohio in our camper van to be with our family while we navigate our dad’s stage 4 cancer diagnosis as a family. It’s been a long hard sprint thus far and front end van repair was not an anticipated part of the journey but neither was the kindness we were shown today.

I went in for an oil change. I felt that for a simple oil change that it was very expensive. I got a synthetic oil change but now just 1600 miles later, my car is telling me that I need another oil change. I checked the dip stick and it's very dry. I have been keeping a look out to see if I am leaking any oil but my driveway is clean! I don't believe that I am burning oil or it would be the first time. I believe that Wayside shorted me on my last oil change. This would be the first time in 6 years since owning the car that I need to go in way earlier for an oil change. Customer Service was very nice though.
We will be using Wayside for all our car needs in the future! They do quick and efficient service. They don't try so scam you or sell you anything unnecessarily. We had an oil change, tire rotation, ran diagnostics for our car and recommendations for potential future services. Pricing is very upfront and affordable. Their customer service is also unparalleled. I declined a curtesy ride home and chose to wait in store with my 3 year old. The staff were very accommodating and friendly to us. I highly recommend using Wayside Garage!
