Came in for an oil change on my Volvo and was met by a knowledgeable staff the whole time. Great customer service and extremely honest. Upsales aren’t a thing unless you absolutely need them, recommended service items talked about but in a friendly manner not a pushy manner. For once in my life wish I had more to fix, I know where I’ll bring my car if I do though

KC was amazing. Best service around. They were efficient and thorough for a great price. I won’t go anywhere else. They are so smart and so nice. I’d recommend them to all my family and friends. They explained my maintenance plan and I am believer that they will get my car to last me years and years with the peace of mind that my car is well maintained. Fluids are my best friend and there is more to a car than just changing oil!

Our 2011 Prius developed issues after the water pump was replaced. The car began overheating, so it was parked overnight in a supermarket lot and had to be towed to Wayside the next day.
Because it is an older car, I did not want to take it to the local Toyota dealer due to their high prices. I searched for independent garages that service Japanese cars. My son warned me not to take it to a shop that advertises itself as an EV and Hybrid specialist, which apparently can equate to higher pricing. I found Wayside, which appeared reputable, and booked the car not realizing they have a EV & Hybrid location.
After arriving and checking in with the counter person, who was friendly and professional, I decided to proceed and disregarded my son’s warning.
Based on the symptoms, the most likely issue was air trapped in the coolant system following the pump replacement but I was expecting more issues, possibly from the pump itself or from a recent road trip where we lost some coolant. The initial estimate was $246.00, which seemed reasonable, so I approved the work.
During the inspection, they found a leaking hose that needed replacement. They did not have the hose in stock, so the car had to remain there over the weekend until Monday. After installing the hose, they discovered the newly installed water pump was defective or damaged. They offered to install a new one, but the total repair cost would increase to around $2,100.00.
At that point, I knew I needed to get the car out of there immediately. I contacted my son, who found a nearby garage who said “we knock these out all the time, bring it by”. That shop installed the pump for $319.00. All I needed to do was have a replacement Aisin OEM pump shipped to them.
Meanwhile, the final bill at Wayside came to $922.90, before I took the car to the other garage to complete the repairs. This was for the hose replacement and confirming the pump was not working properly. This represented a 275% increase over the original $246.00 estimate, or about 3.75 times more. While I fully expected to pay more than the initial estimate, nearly quadrupling the cost was egregious. As a consumer, this felt abusive.
At first, I was impressed with Wayside. The staff was courteous, the facility was impressive, communication was clear, and the digital maintenance updates were a nice touch. I genuinely thought this would become my new go to garage and a reasonable alternative to the overpriced dealer while supporting a local business. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The pricing was simply excessive.
After reading other reviews, my experience does not appear to be an isolated incident. A recurring complaint is that Wayside charges too much. Being taken advantage of as a customer is one of the worst feelings, and that is exactly how this Wayside experience felt.Jan 25, 2026 -
I would like to Thank Sabrina,Jacob and all of Wayside Garage Personnel. Sabrina and Jacob from the beginning until the end went Above & Beyond Customer Service in all phases ,due to of unfortunate circumstances from thieves stealing my Catalytic Converter from my Truck. They made made me feel at ease and took care of all the headache work with my insurance. Dealing with several cancer operations and a recent stroke, it was extremely important to get my 20-year old, high mileage F-150 repaired to be able to continue my daily 200-mile round trip to work, and to be able to pay my medical bills. Financing was originally noted that Wayside Garage in Seaside could provide 6-month/0% financing. The amount of the work done by Wayside that was only financed by one of the links they provided me was $2,522.93 if I agreed to pay it off in 100 days. If not, the final Total Sale Price would be $6,034.38 at an Annual Percentage Rate of 136.04% for 18 months!!
A $250 diagnostic test was recommended prior to any work required. Certain work was suggested that I was led to believe would be able to remove the engine light. After the work was completed, the ONLY result of the work done by Wayside was only that "you need a new motor, and Wayside Garage in Seaside can get you a new motor for $19,200"! There was never any possibility seriously discussed of any work to get the engine light to turn off except $19,200 for the new motor. After nearly 2-weeks, I drove off with my truck still in the SAME condition it was in when I brought it in. Just $2,500 poorer. Bottom line. I could never recommend Wayside Garage to anyone. I would also suggest that any customer get a 2nd opinion BEFORE authorizing any work. Any maybe consult an attorney before any financial decisions.Jan 01, 2026 -

Absolutely unparalleled customer service — truly the best garage experience I’ve ever had.
I cannot say enough amazing things about Wayside Garage. I came in feeling extremely nervous about what could be wrong with my car and how much it might cost, especially as a single mother — and from the very first interaction, they put me completely at ease.
Their transparency is unmatched. They walked me through the entire process and even provided a full vehicle assessment with photos, showing exactly what my car looked like before and after the work was done. That level of honesty and communication made me feel informed, respected, and able to trust every decision being made. Instead of feeling intimidated, I felt educated and empowered about my car — which is something I’ve never experienced at a garage before.
Abraham is truly an incredible face for this family-owned business. He is warm, personable, and genuinely kind. I immediately felt safe and taken care of, which means everything when you’re trusting someone with your vehicle — and your livelihood.
On top of all of that, they went above and beyond by providing a rental car, knowing I’m a single mom and that it’s the holidays — they understood I simply couldn’t be without transportation. My car was in and out of the shop in a day and a half, which is absolutely unbelievable given the quality of work they delivered.

Abraham helped get my neglected vehicle back on the road in no time flat! He was professional and polite throughout the whole process and even made some helpful suggestions to help keep my car running smoothly for years to come. The garage also offers a shuttle service at no charge. I’m not much of a gear head but Abraham had no problem explaining each step and educating me on best practices for older vehicles like mine. It’s been about a month now and still no issues! Great people and service. Would go back again. Look for Abraham!

Had a really great experience here. Abraham helped me out and was super kind, personable, and easy to talk to. He gave helpful advice and explained everything clearly without making it feel rushed or “salesy.”
They also sent me a text when my car was done that had a link to show exactly what was done to my car. It included photos, the overall condition of my vehicle, and recommendations for things to take care of later, which felt really transparent and helpful.
I went in for an oil change and tire rotation, and the price was reasonable. The whole thing only took a few hours, and I really appreciated the shuttle service they offer too, they dropped me off at home and picked me back up when my car was ready, super convenient.

Wayside has everything about customer service down to an art form. They are friendly, efficient, have thorough communication skills and treat their customers like family. Our daughter has been using them for the past couple of years and she has been so impressed that we knew we would take our car to them eventually.
Recently our car had transmission issues and the level of care and time they put into dealing with the problem was really spectacular. Honestly, I can say we have never been treated so well.
The bill was even a nice surprise given how much they had to do to get our car running- who can say this?! They also gave us a detailed print out of everything we need to do to get this car back into great shape by order of importance. They provide communication through text or email if you need the reminders for follow up work.
I can not say enough good things. There is more but I think you get the picture. They understand how to create loyal customers and I would always suggest taking your vehicle to them.

Above and beyond my expectations. I knew my vehicle wasn't running like it should. I asked them to go bumper to bumper and they did. Found more than I expected. My vehicle runs like new again. Yes, it wasn't free, but we'll worth the money I spent to have my car run like new again. The staff kept me informed and were very friendly and helpful. The report they give is outstanding.

I have been going to garages forever and Wayside is THE best! My 2003 Mercedes SL needed a a number of things”fixed” including that the top wouldn’t go down. They took care of that plus a lot of other things. They did it all and even washed the car. Friendly and competent, Wayside will now work on my “fleet” of three cars, Mercedes, Porsche 911 and my hybrid Toyota. I only wish I had found them sooner! Kudos, Wsydide!

Unfortunately I had a really negative experience here. I Brought my car in for stalling issues. I was sent an image of rodent droppings on my engine cover and a few acorn hulls after inspection. They told me that before they diagnosed my issue they would need to clean the rodent biohazard for $500. I told Jacob I had experienced this before and it was too high of a price and he immediately dropped the price to $250 (I don’t feel I should have to bargain at a garage, why are there two prices?) . He said that there was nesting material and told me that it wasn’t shown in the photo. Sensing this wasn’t true, I decided to bike to wayside to check out the car myself, only to discover that there were no nests, No nesting material, and only the few droppings and hulls on the engine cover that would have taken 3 minutes to remove, hose off and sanitize.

I just had my tires replaced and I couldn’t be happier! The whole experience went even better than I expected. Huge shoutout to the crew at Wayside, they truly went above and beyond. Abraham was especially sweet and helpful, and everyone there treated me with such genuine care. You can really tell they value their customers. My new tires are perfect, and I’ll definitely be coming back!

We are new to Monterey County and to Wayside Garage and have to say that our gut didn’t lie. We specifically picked them after reading about their family mission and philosophy, which they definitely lived up to. They took good care of our Mazda, recommending the TLC it needed, without being pushy. We really did leave feeling like part of their auto family.

I had to get the engine replaced in my Mitsubishi Mirage (aka the Bluebird), and Wayside Garage did an amazing job. I had it towed in on a Monday, and by Friday it was ready—running perfectly and looking like new. They returned it in mint condition. I’ve been bringing all my cars here for years and have always had a great experience. Their customer service is top-notch, and the work they do is consistently excellent. Highly recommend!

These are the folks you want to see!
We are on a road trip across the country and had an issue we needed to stop for.
Wayside made room to get us in, get us all fixed up and “On the road again”.
They are super courteous and accommodating. They provide a detailed report of work and or maintenance that is and will be required, which is super helpful.
