Got here at 11:52 he said he was already closed and to come back at 12:40(supposed to be closed from 12-12:30 lunch). Now its 12:50 and he still isn't ready.
Overall, pretty unhappy with my experience here.
My business has scrap aluminum cut offs from the work that we do. I’ve done the majority of the recycling that we in Fresno and this week we took a small amount of material to a metal recycler there and we’re given somewhere close to $.70 a pound.
I just took approximately 490 pounds of aluminum material to this place and was given $.26 a pound or something like that didn’t make any sense to me so I went back and I pointed out the sign which says1.68 a pound, and I was told that that is for aluminum cans. When I asked why it was so much less for the material that I brought in, I was told because of diesel and trucking cost.
I realize that businesses have cost of doing business but I honest I really feel like I’ve been ripped off here.
They may be great for recycling, your aluminum cans and plastic bottles but if you’re doing anything, other than that, I would highly recommend finding some other place.
My company obviously will not be doing work with A & S Metals in to future.

A&S is my scrap happy place,I've been trading with them for 20-30 years...by far my fav... the one on brunkin in Salinas ca... love Maria in the office,such a sweetheart, miss Blanca since she retired, and Sergio,is great worker,knows his job,& does a outstanding job, by far my best place to turn in my scrap metal, aluminum brass wire copper cans & plastic bottles everything.. the only way it could improve,is if they paid me more for my recycles... hint hint.. I'm looking for work,I go there enough,I could do a great job I'm sure... thanks again,to all a&s peps..
Plastic bottles and aluminum cans are accepted ONLY if marked with the CRV identifier. If you have containers without that label they will not pay regardless of recycling emblem on the bottle. CRV only.
This place is only good for taking your CRV , cans , plastic bottles . As for taking in your scrap metal copper, insulated wire , brass etc, I’ll never go again they pay well below the average , and there’s a good chance the workers will short you when they weigh your material , or just not count it at all . Go to any other scrap yard than A&S Metals .Now I know what A&S stands for ALWAYS STEALING.
Quick and easy. Great place for your recycling needs. My personal favorite place for cash recycling. Roomy, open and airy facility. Well maintained and very nice place to go compared to some of the smaller and at times more run down places. HIGHLY recommend. By all means, this is the go to place.
This place is a whole lot more organized than it was years ago and the people are very respectful. I believe it pays accordingly and would recommend taking recycling here.
Was good and easy to recycle all my aluminum cans. Just drove to the inside of the building and then employees did all the work. No need to worry if is raining or to much sun.
Terribly unorganized. Just to get to the entrance took an hour in line. It took twenty minutes to get to the cashier. One and a half hours minimum. Great place except they need a time efficiency manager and/ or coordinator.
Been going there for years when it comes to my recycling needs plastic cans scrap metal. I wouldnt go any place else The staff is always so friendly and very helpful. And very respectful towards their customers. As for the staff in the front office those ladies when it comes to cashing in my ticket I've never had to wait especially when I'm running late those sweet ladies have me in and out in a jiffy . Wouldn't trade them or my business to anyone else I can honestly say I am one very satisified A&S customer for life.
Wow, these people are straight up thieves! They pay you a lower price than what they have posted. I have caught them not reseting the weight scale so that it reads a negative number, Also the last time I brought 40lbs of copper they tried labeling the receipt for some other cheap metal. Luckily I caught them and demanded the copper back. I will never come to this location or to any A&S Metals. I have seen many customers getting ripped off here, I don't understand how these people are still in business.
