Don’t go here they are the worst pick n pull ever. I’ve been to everyone around the bay. This place has terrible employees

Horrible experience. I pulled an alternator for my 4runner, paid in cash at the front. On pick n pull website parts pricing list, alternators are listed as costing $36 bucks. I paid $58 for mine. I Asked if I could return it after I took it directly to auto parts store to have it tested. The employee said yes. I took it to the auto parts store in Prunedale and it was bad: immediately I returned, and was told that I could not return it for a refund since I paid in cash, only store credit. Then they charged me a RESTOCKING fee of like 8 dollars. For restocking a dead alternator. I was told if I would have paid with my debit card, I would have gotten the refund to my card. But since I paid in cash they would only give store credit. So I got 43 dollars store credit at a store that doesn’t even have the part I need. I will never come here again. The store credit went right out the window. Don’t shop here. Horrible customer service and fraudulent business. Odds are your part doesn’t work, they’re well aware and will keep selling it over and over charging restocking fees along the way. Disgusting way to run a business. Go to an auto dismantler instead. Not pick n pull. Frauds

I frequent the moss landing yard often as I’m in the automotive industry. I have to say that they have the worst employees possible. 95% of them have such an attitude and always try to overcharge. Then when you look at your receipt there are a bunch of additional charges that they don’t make you aware of. To top it off today I went in as usual but upon leaving I was stopped by a heavy angry woman Myra who wanted to search me. I said ok it this has never happened. She then proceeded to snatch property of mine from my backpack and told me I would have to buy it from them. Maybe if they did their job for once and looked on the way in they would have seen it. So incredibly degrading and shocking they would blatantly take my property and then try to sell it to me. Had I not been so shocked I woulda grabbed it back. I would steer clear if at all possible. Unless you like being treated like a nuisance and want to be robbed in every way possible.

Coming from San Jose, just asked politely if they could go check if a car has its front bumper still in row 5, they said “We don’t inventory the parts on vehicles”. I asked if someone could just quickly check instead of us driving all the way over there to most likely be disappointed, she said “No”. Oh well

Very disappointed staff manager complete prick .does disservice to the company has no respect or skills lacks ability to conduct business with the public.argues chales to fight.argues verbal profanity...got into it with me over me defending a Hispanic that lacked the language and wanted to send this poor man the exchange a part to San Jose CA.just because he could .when in fact a returned part all they do with it is toss it in a bin .been a business owner myself I believe it's in everbuusness a must .to have customers happy .even if their wrong.custoners always right a skill that only a true business owner would know ..thankfully they exchanged his part ..but when I was next to pay he rufesed service told his cronnys not to serve me like a child .it's. Shame to have such character represent what is a good business .I was insulted challenged to figh.infrint of public then refused service ..filed a complaint 3 weeks ago have not heard a thing .I expect action and his resignation.or..i will fallow up on ither issues. .thanku..

Lots of cars had most of high dollar parts like ECM/ECU's removed but when called to see if available, they incorrectly say they have them.

Their pricing scheme is absolutely a joke, and some of the staff are absolute jerks. Their online listing of inventory is also massively inaccurate. Just a poor excuse for a junkyard. Guess that they feel that they have no real competition anymore and have gotten lazy.

Great place to find cheap functional parts if you are into DIY car repairs. I needed an actuator for my vehicle's rear door and was able to find it here and install it myself after watching a YouTube video. It works with no issues. I ended up saving more than $300 bucks in the process. It's better to call ahead to check whether they have vehicles like yours to increase your chances of finding the part(s) you need as it is a bit of a long drive from Seaside. You also need tools to dismantle the part you need to get as nobody else will do it for you. If the part you buy does not work in your car, they will only offer you a store credit, so that is something to keep in mind. You need to ask them to mark the part for you when you buy it so that it will be easy for you to return it afterwards, if you need to. Regarding the road to the place, I was easily able to find this pick-n-pull relying on Google. However, on my way back to Seaside, I found it extremely difficult to turn left from Dolan Road into Cabrillo Highway even after a long wait as the highway seems to be always crowded.

This place, I swear to God. I sold my wrecked car to them and scheduled a pick up, however I was extremely specific that this would be a meet up since I live very remotely on a rough road, to several different people I talked to. The driver was supposed to call me when he was on his way to the meet up location so I would know to meet him at the specific address, as per the attendant helping me specified would happen. Said driver never called me and the car never got picked up. Upon rescheduling I did a different address so there was no confusion and left the car in the parking lot overnight, and what happens? Nothing. Pickup went wrong AGAIN. And of course, I had no idea because these people are incapable of contacting me. If I could I would take my car back and donate it elsewhere because these people are so infuriating to work with and cannot follow basic instructions.

1 star is too many for this company! Had an appointment for them to pick up a non-operational vehicle. They did not show up or call to let me know that their tow truck was down. Gave them 2 more tries with same results. Called cashforcars.com and my car was hauled away that very same day. Would not recommend Pick and Pull if your car needs towing. You’ll still be waiting!!!!

Staff are great but price seem going up and some are comparable with Amazon (warehouse or lightly used) without having to leave your house specially during triple digit weather in central valley.

This location is a little difficult to find if you've never been before. Google Maps didn't give great directions, either. There's a small fee ($2) just to enter the yard, so you're paying just to be there, even if you don't make an additional purchase. They also can't guarantee the part you're looking for will be on the vehicle in their yard. The staff weren't very helpful, or friendly. Not being a mechanic, I didn't realize that I needed a special tool to remove the part I came for. Luckily there was a pair of nice customers that were able to help me using their tools. Tip: The entrance to this location is much farther back onto the street where Google Maps takes you. The road is narrow and curvy, and you'll see signs for the Pick'NPull as you get closer. Tip: If you're not a car person and you're looking for a specific part, Google any tools possibly required to remove the part/s you're looking for. A short length of narrow steel pipe is extra handy for situations that require much more torque to loosen a weathered screw or bolt.

What a joke this place is. I called them about selling my vehicle and was quoted $500 for it. Went in to turn in my paperwork and the lady at the desk ignored me until I finally got her attention. She then told me they would only pay $200. I left and called back the next day to be told I would get $500 after all. Went back in and turned in my paperwork and left them with the pink and scheduled a pick up time. The pickup time came and went and no one showed up. I called the next day and they told me they didn't know when or if it would be picked up. What??? They could give me zero answers. So now they have my pink and I have no idea when or if I will get paid for my vehicle or even if they will ever pick it up. This place has no idea what is going on. They need better employees who actually care. Update: now I'm being told that they never even cut me a check and they lost my paperwork and pink. The moss landing office has no idea what they are doing. I'm not typically one to say someone should be fired but clearly these people in the moss landing office should be fired so they can bring in someone who actually follows though on the paperwork. I will not be doing business here again.

This Pick-n-Pull was interesting. It was out in the middle of nowhere. It happened to be a real cool day. The car I was looking for it was literally the closest car when we went in. That of course doesn't make it great. Got a bunch of parts and only spent $120. It was very nice and well-organized. As are most Pick N pulls

Awesome place. Has cars that other yards in the city do no ot have. Hard to find the entrance if you are not looking hard enough. Small yard but most of the cars actually still have the parts you need. Give it a try

Smaller yard but it does offer older cars that yards in the cities dont have. Just dont be surprise if you open one of them cars and a possum made its nest. Besides that it is a great yard nonetheless. Far off drive depending on where you are but definitely worth it

It's a mixed bag. Competition has been eliminated, and monopolies are never good for consumers. Increased pricing, mandatory admission fee of $2.50 per person (Oct 2020) is no longer applied towards your purchase. Moody personnel, inconsistent policies regarding the permissible tools inside the lot (no consideration of the reality or of professional standards and practices) are to be expected. Lethargic pacing of the administrative process and uneven customer service are what you can expect at this pick-n-pull. Remember, you are driving a long way to spend your time and effort on a 1 in 3 chance that you'll get exactly what you need in just one visit - even if you've verified that the vehicle you require is present in the current inventory. That said, you can save a bundle if you are a competent mechanic with the correct tools. Beware the traffic!! The killer here is the turn at Dolan Rd and Highway 1. Drivers MUST be extremely cautious turning left - in or out of Dolan Rd onto the brisk highway. Its the worst highway intersection in Monterey County. Pick-n-pull Is not all bad, but its often bad enough. Don't expect you will get what you need for less time and cost, overall. Its a possibility, and perhaps, a fair bet if you learn the ins and outs of this rough trade. To their credit, they buy junk cars consistently, salvage sets of wheels and tires, recondition batteries, etc. They post accurate inventory databases online with mobile apps, usually offer 30 day warranty on parts with a promise of exchange of verified purchased parts with an identical replacement part, if and when available inventory, This value is inversely proportional to the value of your time or the unforeseen cost of tools and mechanic. This repair, it took me three visits to secure a part from a car that was available for a month, at a price 20% higher than the online listed price. A tool required to safely remove the crankshaft pulley from a V6 Honda Accord was arbitrarily refused entry on my second visit - yet allowed entry, a second time, the following weekend. This was nonsense, but reasoning with idiots does not make them smart, but it does make competition a market imperative. Especially, since the State of California know that cars are their best tax base and are cheaper to regulate in a statewide market dominance like the DMV. Who really has an alternative to the "my way or the highway" system of managing a society addicted to automobiles in order to survive?

Of all of the Pick and Pulls I contacted Moss Landing was the only one to understand I was 100 miles away and when he had a chance he took a couple of picks of the part and shot them off to me. Saved me a 100 mile trip. I wish I had his name but area code 916 and maybe the Manager may know how helpful and able to grasp a situation and solve a problem his employee is. None of the others could grasp how simple it could have been to help. I don't write a lot of these only if there really good or really bad. Again Thank You

You know it's bad when they wanted $14.99 for this BROKEN "premium switch." Wow. Also had a old corroded EGV valve that I found and they wanted more than a new one costed from AutoZone... Really? Lady also tried to charge me $1 for a funny looking CD I found that was broken in half.

Awesome, great customer service @ Moss Landing location! Originally called the Salinas location, Jonathan helped me out he looked on compurer for my year/ make & model car, he didn't have one. He checked locator found one at Moss Landing location, I stocked up on extra parts since 97% of parts for my car are discontinued! All the parts I got today are in good condition, just need a good cleaning! I'm a happy camper!!

This place is so unprofessional! I had an appointment for them to pick up my car today between 8am-12pm. He barley came at 5:30. That was 8 hours of waiting! And the crazy part is that the scheduling woman I spoke to gave me wrong info on how to fill out my pink slip! And she lied saying she didn't tell me to write what she asked me too! And the tow truck driver was very rude to me explaining what went wrong and left without taking my car. I will never go here again! Worst experience I've had in my life.

I've been going to this location for nearly 20 years. Seen it evolve much since then, overall a pretty decent location. The Premier yard is gone, as well as all the other independent wreckers on Dolan Road. This P-n-P is all that's out there now. As other reviewers have mentioned, the (Pick-n-Pull) pricing can vary a bit depending on their opinion of what a part is and/or worth. Overall, I feel that Pick-n-Pull has decent pricing. I've bought thousands of dollars of items from this location alone. Rant: The newer practice of scrapping all the aluminum rims is a travesty. Many of those factory wheels are worth hundreds, and yet they settle for scrap value, which is about $20/wheel. Schitzner Steel is in the money making business, not the parts warehousing business, unfortunately. This carries over into their "core" return policy too. Funny side note, just yesterday I saw yet another patron publicly banished from the yard, never to return. Last time I was there, about 6 months ago, some dude had like 12 items stuffed in his baggy pants, and got called out right at the pay window. Same woman employee ripped him a new one lol. Use discretion, people.

I was quoted 75$ for a plastic grill said i will not pay for grill just the headlight. I was charged for a headlight and grill insert (15$). I said i don't want the grill and that obviously means the insert as well. Response to me was "we do not offer refunds goodbye" One example of many. I hate the customer service with a passion i would rather buy new parts than deal with these morons. PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THIS HORRIBLE EXCUSE OF A BUSINESS.

The last junk yard in Moss Landing, their prices are expensive. They do have a good selection of cars. Unless your can't find the part somewhere else, try it. Staff in friendly.. it's just top expensive for used parts that you yourself remove.

I went to their location, dropped off paperwork and said I had a broken down vehicle on a military base that I needed hauled away and gotten rid of. I was told this wouldn't be a problem. I have had to reschedule the pick up day at least five times now because they never came for the vehicle. When I call and ask about it I just get the, "oh we're sorry we will go ahead and reschedule". On one recent occasion I called, was told, "the driver will be there in a half hour to get it", and it still was never picked up. During my most recent call I was finally told that they are "unable to pick up vehicles on military bases". How I wasn't told this have no idea, but now I have the pleasure of dealing with this people and finding out how to get this broken down car off a base from a different base, since I have moved away from California. Do not recommend.

Compared to a traditional junkyard, this one is excellent. Crushed rock covers the ground to prevent the whole place from turning into a mud pit. Vehicles are arranged by make so you don't have to go up and down every aisle. Prices are set by part, so what you pay is notat the whim of some guy behind the counter. Engine hoists and wheel barrows are available at no extra charge. Be prepared to pay a $2 entry (cash). If you're hungry, the food truck outside the entrance is fantastic as well. It is cash only.

My experience was very unsatisfactory. After being given a window of 8-12, the driver calls at 12:15 when I was attempting to contact the office to find out why the driver was late and no phone call but does not even leave a message. I call immediately back and the driver informed me he could be there in 15 to 30 minutes. I told him to get here. I finally contacted the office and asked why I was not even given a courtesy call that the driver was running late. They said they had no way of knowing and that it happens sometimes. In other words, the driver does not check in when he or she is ;picking up the vehicle to update the office. That seems very shoddy and is a poor business practice. And the person on the phone did not even seem to care that I was having to miss more time of work. Rescheduling was not an option as that would have meant missing even more time of work. Then, to top it off, my last name was misspelled. I even had spelled my last name in the initial phone call as it is very common for it to be misspelled otherwise. If I could have given zero stars, I would have. I had to go to into the office to get the spelling on my name corrected. They did give me $20 more for my inconvenience of having to come in but they said nothing about the inconvenience of having arrived late.
