Pulled over for a nap, and my battery died. I called for a jump. I was located about 10 min from his shop. He told me it would be $165 to come to my location, $150 for a diagnosis (even though i told him it was only a jump needed), and informed me that there would be another charge for the repair. Even if i only needed a jump, there would be a third charge.
Being desperate, I agreed. He told me it would be 20 min. After 1 1/2 hrs, i called another service. The other service arrived before him. While getting a jump (the only thing i needed) he pulls up asking if i still need assistance. When i said no, he told me i still owed him $165 for him arriving. I told him that i was not paying as he came so late and I already had another service. He pulled over behind my truck and started taking pictures (i assume of my plate). Trying to exploit people in a time of need is horrible.
On a drive from San Francisco to Joshua Tree I ran over a bolt/nail along the 58 just outside of California City. After calling a few places, I got in touch with Ramon who told me he would take a look at the tire and see if he could fix it. He and his associate were very transparent and told me if they weren't able to fix it they would pick up a replacement tire and install that instead. Luckily they were able to patch it up back at their shop and brought it back to me and installed it. The process took some time, but I made it to Joshua Tree and then back to San Francisco on that tire. I'm very glad to have done business with him and would recommend his services for anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation.
I had broken down on the 395, this shop's name came up on a list of possibilities through my insurance company. When I called to make arrangements they told me not to come. It was late on a Friday and they didn't feel like taking on the extra business.
Let me make that clear: They blew off a stranded motorist because it was almost closing time.
I broke down about 8 miles outside of the town that they are in. When pulling up, it made me nervous because it was just a couple guys, an RV and a scrap metal yard. In the end, my car got fixed, but my boyfriend is the one who had to point out to them where the problem was. They also had my car jacked wrong and it fell. All they had to do was replace a bolt in my brake pad that had fallen out, and they charged 127$! They did get the job done though in the end.
