Check-in process is a bit confusing here for first time driver's. Weigh your truck on the scale, wait for the green light to appear. Drive forward and make a right (park) talk to the lady at the office. She guided me the wrong spot to park to wait which I didn't upload the photo of where she placed me. Forklift driver was on a 45 min break before I was even assisted on where the docks are even at to be unloaded. Docks, you have to U-Turn to get yourself backed up at the dock. Also the lady in the office had my BOL Return paper which not sure why she didn't make me a copy there and gave it to the forklift guy. After the unload, I had to exit the yard, re-enter the yard again, park and get a copy of my BOL from her. Would of been better if I got my BOL from the forklift guy so I can just exit the property and be done. Hopefully you trucker's have a better first time experience than me
Unload was quick 30 minute, no other trucker at the docks neither so that's why I gave a 3 star at least
They will rip you off if your a woman. They tried to say most of what I brought in was dirty copper but it wasn't I made sure to clean it so there was no paint , no grease ,no rubber . Nothing it was clean but the guy kept saying dirty. I had brass that was clean except for the eching on the out side and he said it was dirty. Won't be going back would rather drive the extra hour to Windsor then go back here.
I dropped off 2000 pounds of clean scrap steel and expected a couple of dollars. I was then told their price was zero. I knew their prices were low but zero?? The company should post current prices at the scale.
I scraped some metal and the check bounced I was charged a bank fee of $10 for bouncing the check on top of the amount the check was wrote for they were not willing to make it right don't recommend this place if you plan on getting paid for your scrap
Full disclosure. I'm not interested in getting money for what I take to Tri County. I just want to recycle that which they handle, but if the opportunity arises that I have some aluminum or copper wire in my load then they are happy to weigh and pay me. My last load had a tonneau cover that I was just going to unload and leave on the stack. One of the workers came over and asked what it was, cut a hole into it and said this is all aluminum for which I'll pay you. And he did.
If you have a heavy load for which you want scrap metal prices, drive on to the scale at the entrance, wait for a green light then proceed to the dumping area. They are friendly people.
It's the only place locally that I can think of that will pay (sometimes) for steel. I also don't know of any other place that takes and pays near market rate for non ferrous metals.
The staff is always great and I love the service that this company does for the area. The only thing I would like to see is more transparent pricing.
Since the price always fluctuates why not have a digital display of all the metals and prices on site and why not have an automated listing on the website that continually updates prices.
Don’t expect any help sorting out the metal or understanding what you are being told. Highly accented speech and not English!
The good part, my first and last time using them, my house is sold and after 40+ years in california we are moving east.
